62 Memories (VIII)

"If it's destiny, I want to die gracefully." Fu Yixiao smirked at the boy who was grinning once he heard her answer. "So, I'll die today?" she asked, startling Wu Zhaoyi who was trying to lessen the grin on his face.

"If the situation was similar to the previous world, then today would be your doomed. But-" he paused and stared at the girl who was staring at him intently. Her anticipating look made the grin to resurfaced once again.

"But what?" Fu Yixiao scowled in irritation.

"But, the whole situation was different which meant that there was a possibility for you to not die today, or maybe, you are the one we have been looking for," he answered truthfully but the end of the sentence, Fu Yixiao could feel the immense hope coming from his voice.

"Did the others die? the other me? but there was a Fu Yixiao in your group and why are you looking for me?" she asked as her feet also moved once she realized Wu Zhaoyi was already a few steps ahead of her.

"You asked too many questions," Wu Zhaoyi laughed feeling amused.

"Well, can't help it." Fu Yixiao replied. "If you're in my position, you would do the same," she added.

"No, I would totally freak out and run away," Wu Zhaoyi turned around, still running except that it was a backward run. He wanted to see Fu Yixiao face to face. The thing he said earlier was an honest answer from him. If it was him, he wouldn't trust himself nor the rest of his companion.

"To someone who lives a normal life maybe this is a nightmare. But, to me, this was like a gift to end my suffering," she said as a matter of fact with no emotion attached to it. Her eyes met Wu Zhaoyi's sympathizing look and she presented to him a smile to reassure that she was fine.

"You're-"

"We're here!" Fu Yixiao interjected as she leaped forward and let her weight brought the boy down. "Sorry, someone's at the entrance." she hurriedly explained after noticing the incredulous face he was making. Wu Zhaoyi nodded and flipped his small body to look at the same direction.

"Do you have the card with you?" Wu Zhaoyi whispered to her ears. Fu Yixiao was startled at the sudden breeze invading the peace on her earlobe. Still, her hand was quick to search for the card in her pocket before giving it to Wu Zhaoyi.

"Come!"

They ran down the hill with a thankful feeling toward the bushy bushes which had perfectly hidden their small frames. They reached the bottom of the hill and once again used the bushes to hide their presence.

"Ran as fast as you can along the fence once I give you the signal," Wu Zhaoyi instructed and waited for a 'yes' from Fu Yixiao before heading out. His childish face was no longer such and was replaced with one that could falsify his actual age.

Fu Yixiao was wondering what his plan was and was shocked to see him confronted the man who was at the entrance. Even shocking, Wu Zhaoyi actually made the man unconscious with a single strike at the back of the man's neck, a precise hit on his interspinous ligament. 'Awesome,' she thought while admiring the strength coming from his small body.

That was when she noticed him waving his hand as he himself ran toward the fence he told her earlier. Fu Yixiao didn't hesitate and ran as fast as she could like she was told to do. She wanted to slow down to wait for Wu Zhaoyi but canceled her plan the moment she detected him at her left side.

"Follow me!" Wu Zhaoyi ran ahead followed by Fu Yixiao who found the pace increasingly harder for her to keep up. Thankfully, they reached the southern area before she exhausted all her energy.

"Which transportation?" she asked after gaining her regular breath. The pressure she felt was overwhelming that it made her wanted to give up. When that happened, she would stare at the calm expression on Wu Zhaoyi's face and like magic, she somehow felt energy circling at her bell waited to be released.

'He's so reliable,' she complimented him again.

Fu Yixiao inferred that Wu Zhaoyi's reliability was tampered by his experience in the previous missions he had on other universes. That was the reason why he was calm unlike her who was sweating profusely due to anxiety. It was only her outer appearance that was calm when inside, she felt like throwing up.

"Do you see the small plane with three white stripes on its body? that's the one we're going to hijack. For now, we wait for the signal from Granny Wu. They're inside now," Wu Zhaoyi explained the plan again afraid that Fu Yixiao had forgotten about it.

An hour passed by.

Both Wu Zhaoyi and Fu Yixiao were restless for the signal they waited for hadn't reached them yet making one wondered about the things that were happening inside the building.

"Hey, I'm changing the plan. We shouldn't wait for the signal and proceed with the original plan," Wu Zhaoyi whispered as soon as the time hit the second hours.

Fu Yixiao nodded in agreement. She too wanted to be in action as soon as possible. They waited for the perfect moment and once the chance appeared, they ran toward the targeted plane.

However, the grass wasn't always greener on the other side. They thought the time and condition were perfect but as soon as their body reached the middle, they were circled by the endless number of people wearing a black suit with a black tie similar to the one Fu Yixiao had seen on Man In Black's movies.

"Damn it!" Wu Zhaoyi cursed the instant he saw two men were holding Granny Wu and the other Fu Yixiao. "They're not hurt," Fu Yixiao informed as she positioned herself closed to Wu Zhaoyi. Her eyes were scanning the people that have them surrounded.
