17 Unexpected

BAM!!!

Addison jolted from her desk when the notes and pens bounced after Amber slammed her hands on her table. She scanned Addison from head to foot. "Hey, did you bring your P.E uniform?" she asked with cold eyes and indifferent tone.

"Y-Yes,"

Amber smirked, "Good, lend it to me," she ordered.

"Eh?!" Addison backed away. "B-But we're going to the gym right n-now and...and if y-you're going to b-borrow my uniform, what am I g-gonna use?" She stammered, but still managed to let out the words by holding herself down.

"Hah?!" Amber glared at her and leaned closer. "It's for you to figure out," then she laughed with the two girls standing by her side. "The f*ck is this bitch saying? Our little Addie already learned to bark at her owner," then they laughed.

Addison lowered her head as she started to shiver. She became more tense when Amber grabbed her hair lightly and lifted her chin. "Look at your face right now? Do you really think there's anyone here who'll help you?" she let go and flicked Addison's forehead. "Keep on dreaming, bitch"

As soon as she said that, the two mean girls laughed and looked at Addison with disgust in their eyes. While the poor girl lowered her head, letting her classmates gossip about her.

"It's good for her, she's really a bitch..seducing the school prince, Shaun"

"I saw her yesterday eating lunch with Shaun and Liechael, What a thick face"

"She should know her place"

Then they started to fix their things and headed out to the school gym. Addison was left there, still in her seat, while biting her lower lip. She shouldn't be fighting with them or causing rumours. It's the first year of her school and she really wanted to graduate from E University. Addison rubbed her throbbing forehead. Instead of crying, the girl stood up and gathered her things. If Amber saw her crying, she would totally humiliate Addison again, just like what she did last week.

She headed to the locker room. Even though she had no P.E uniform, she still can attend the class. Addison is just going to tell her professor that she forgot her uniform. She's fooling herself. How can a top student in class who's always attentive forget a uniform?

When she was about to approach her locker, Addison froze. Things scattered on the floor with chocolate drinks. Her books are all drenched from ice cream and so her spare school uniform. There were other girls in there, but they didn't mind to look at her and laugh instead while chattering some bad words behind her.

"Hey, everyone, head out now. The professor is already calling us," their class representative announced as she stood in the door. She saw Addison crouching on the floor while picking her books. "Addison? Are you okay? What happened here?, geez" she was about to help when Addison pushed her hands.

"It's okay," the poor girl lifted her chin and smiled. "I accidentally spilled it. Sorry, I will clean it right away." Addison bowed her head. "Thank you, I'm really fine," then she giggled.

Since she said that she's fine, the class representative told her to hurry and head straight to the gym.

When the door was finally closed, Addison went back to picking her books and stuff while smiling. 'It's okay, This is okay, I will just clean it right away...don't cry' she tried to comfort herself.

A piece of paper fell from the side of her notebook, so she picked it up. When the girl realized that it's a photo, she quickly used her hand to wipe it, saving the clearer view. She is supposed to throw it away but chooses to hide it. Once again, she observed the smile of the two figures leaning with each other in the photo.

A guilt lingered inside her that made her bite her lower lip. Twitching her eyes while stopping herself from crying. Addison didn't know why she's feeling sad about it, it's just all a memory. If she will be given another chance, she would like to take another photo with Amber. Because she's her best friend—in the past.

Stopping herself from crying, she tucked the photo back between the pages of her notebook. The girl exited the locker room and went to the washroom. She already had some chocolates and ice creams on her hands. Addison can at least save the pages of the book if she's going to wipe it carefully.

Her steps echoed in the corridors with her breath getting heavier. She's not crying anymore, but the guilt she's been hiding for a long time is hunting her again. 'I'm f-fine,' she mumbled to herself. 'I-It's m-my fault, she's like t-this'

As she took the turn, her body stumbled and in a split second, Addison was about to hit the floor.

"Hey!"

The other student was quick to catch her in time. He wrapped his arms around the girl's bended body and lifted her up. With his one hand on her nape, his headphones fell down and made a clunk sound.

That sound startled Addison, which caused her to open her eyes. That's when she met two hazel brown eyes, looking so dreamy and sleepy. His long silvery hair almost reached her cheeks while preventing the messy ones with a clip.

"Are you okay?"

As soon as he blurted those words, the girl under him blushed and froze. Seeing her reaction and feeling her trembling knees. The boy lifted Addison like a princess. "Let's go to the clinic, you look very pale." Once again, his harmonic and gentle voice rang in the girl's ears.

"I-I c-can walk," Addison stuttered. She's worrying about the books that fell on the floor. She needed to clean it right away.

"Are you worrying about the books?" The boy looked at her, blinking. His straight lips didn't change. "I'm going to pick it up later" That's when Addison saw the small piercing on the boy's lower lip.

He squeezed the girl's waist and lifted her higher, leaning his lips closer to Addison's ears. "Put your arms around my neck if you don't want to fall," he whispered.
