It's YOU again

The sun greeted her with its dandelion color as it slowly lowered itself to meet the horizon. Addison put the pencil leveling her face while pointing it upward toward the sky. She tilted her head and closed one eye, calculating the size of the half sun going down. After that, she lowered her head and scratched her pencil onto the paper on her lap.

"Why is it so hard to find the perfect shade?" Her face frowned for a minute. She erased a small part from her masterpiece and then she continued scratching on the paper. With only a few fingers holding the paper, the wind easily took it away. The white thing fluttered and went in a different direction.

"Ehh! It flew away!" Addison sprang from the bench, leaving the pencil rolling on the ground as she chased the paper. She chased it until the wind disappeared. Luckily, the paper stopped before she could hardly breathe.

Addison wiped her forehead and bent down. She was about to pick up the paper when another hand picked it up. Her eyes widened after their sudden touch.

"Oh, I'm sorry"

That voice rang in her ears. It's familiar. Addison picked up the paper and stood up. That's when she saw William, with his headphones around the neck and a guitar on his back. He scratched the back of his head when their eyes met. "Hi?" he averted his gaze and smiled awkwardly.

Addison backed away and scanned the guy's awkward expression. "It's you!" she exclaimed. Recalling the face who helped her that day and brought her to the school clinic. "I haven't thanked you properly that day," she bowed her head. "Thank you for helping me"

Though surprised, William let her be and smiled. "No need to thank me," he replied.

Then the atmosphere turned silent again.

Addison then turned her back. It's a good decision to not get involved with another student. She just really came there to get her drawing. She had no intention of talking to him. When she was about to make a step, a grasp stopped her.

"W-Wait!" William then tried to at least stop the girl from walking away. He didn't even realize that his hands moved unconsciously. "Oh, s-sorry," he jolted inches away from Addison after letting go of her hands.

"Uhmm...Do you need something? Can I help you?" Addison asked.

William then snapped himself back, "D-Did you draw it?" his eyes traced the paper in Addison's grip. "Did you...draw it?" he repeated.

Addison nodded. "Yes, why?" she tried to at least make her face normal because the truth is she's already embarrassed. She's not used to talking to people so casually.

To her surprise, William dashed forward with his convincing eyes. "Then, do you want to join the art class with me?" he asked.

It made the girl turn silent for a minute. Processing everything in her mind. She thought that the guy would ask something very important, but it turns out that he wanted to join the art class. "Why me?" Addison finally blurted out.

William turned his head and pondered for the meantime. He's popular and all, but he's not good at communicating, especially to girls and ladies. This thought made him a little embarrassed. "B-Because I-I saw your drawing," he said.

The girl shrugged her shoulders. "Is that all? Because you saw me draw?"

"No, no! I mean..uhmm.." He was about to reply back when Addison walked closer to him and said. "I'm in a hurry right now, but I will think about your offer," then she turned around and left.

THE NEXT DAY…

The class for the day has ended, and everyone headed out of their classroom. The cleaners are already done cleaning and doing their task.

"Hey! William! What are you gonna do after class? We are going to karaoke. Do you want to come with us?" One of his classmates asked.

William, who's about to make a turn, paused. "I'm sorry, I have an important thing to do" he smiled then shrugged when he turned around. The truth is, he had a schedule shooting for their new magazine and he knew that he was going to stay late all night for that.

"Geez, I want to go home and sleep," William yawned while walking on the empty corridors. It's good that the students are now gone because he's not in the mood to entertain a fan. Good thing that he's wearing his hood today. He made big steps because he knew that his driver was already waiting for him in front of the building.

When the sun hit his face, his gaze also turned to a figure meters away from him. It made William pause as he narrowed his eyes to see it clearly. He saw Addison sitting on one of the benches with a box of chocolates on her lap.

"What are you doing?!"

Before Addison could realize, the guy was already sitting beside her munching one of her chocolates. "D-Do you like chocolates?" William asked.

Dumbfounded, Addison flinched from that sudden appearance. "Yes, and where did you come from?!" she blurted out. She's sitting there quietly while waiting for her father to fetch her when this guy suddenly showed up out of nowhere.

Those chocolates are her father's newly homemade recipe for their coffee shop. Her father gave her some because he wanted Addison's friends to taste their delicacy, but sadly, Addison had no other friends, so she ate it alone.

"I'm on my way home. Do you want to take the ride with me?" William tried to smile at the girl so that he would not look awkward. Even he didn't know why he's feeling very comfortable around Addison. He's usually the quiet type and chooses to listen to his headphones all day, but there was something on this girl that's pulling him more.

"I'm f-fine!" She averted her gaze and clenched her skirt. "I-I'm waiting for my father," she added.

Then her phone rang. Addison stood up and answered the call. Her father told her that he couldn't fetch her now because one of his investors wanted to talk to him.

"Are you okay?" William soon felt the atmosphere from her.

Instead of responding, Addison gathered all her things. "I need to go, you can have the chocolates by yourself." She shot a quick glance at the guy beside her.

Again, William was left there without even getting the chance to tell the girl what he really wanted to say.

Is this another pair of friendship?
