Low grunts can be heard coming from a house when the sun had already started kissing the earth goodbye. The milk coloured house looked average but classy with a small path leading up to the steps of the door and low grass growing by the sides giving it an extremely chic vibe.
Inside that house was a family of five with two older sons, Leyn and Levi, and a young girl, Kris, who had barely reached the age for her teeth to stop falling. One of the previously mentioned sons was being beaten by the man whom they call their 'father'.
"Have you learnt your lesson?", the man, Reynold, said in a gruff voice. The boy laying on the floor just nodded his head, throat feeling too blocked to make any sensible sound. The man having done what he felt was right, turned and strode out the door, not showing any form of concern about the boy's physical wellbeing.
Meanwhile Levi, who felt tremendous pain all over his body from the excess beating, struggled to stand. Finally standing, in a crooked manner, he proceeded to walk out of the room and eventually out of the house, though he did so with a limp. He took his cap from where he had dropped it on the couch and set off, going to a place he had come to realise was his safe place.
Some time later, he sat on a large stone having reached his destination and started watching the sea water rise and drop. He heard the soft laughter of people getting ready to leave the shore and of people walking and hanging around. He bent his head back and let out a heavy drawn sigh, 'Why is my life like this?' he asked himself. He rose his hand up to confirm his existence and let out another drawn sigh before he heard a smooth voice sound in his ears.
"You look worn out", the voice said. Levi turned his head to look at this person interrupting his thoughts when he became suddenly at a loss for words. In front of him was the person that he dreamed about countless times, the person that made him keep thinking twice about life and death, the person that made him feel weirdly secure and calm - the white haired boy.
Yes, he didn't know his name.
Levi opened his mouth to say something, anything, to the boy, but he beat him to it, "That bruise on your cheek...are you okay?" The boy invited himself to sit with Levi as he made himself comfortable on the surface of the flat rock.
"I'm fine...do you remember me?" Levi voiced out with hesitation, he looked at the boy and noticed the boy's eyes sparkling little by little with familiarity settling in.
The boy snapped his fingers and said with a smug look, "Lovi, black haired with an ass for a father"
"Pfft" Levi let out, "What the hell? Is that how you remember me? That's so embarrassing!... And my name is Levi" "Eh, still close though" the boy said while Levi snickered.
"Anyways, what about you? What's your name?" Levi finally asked.
"Lillith"
There was a pause.
"Lillith? For real?" Levi asked with a stupid teasing smile on his face,
"What's that meant to mean?! Can't a boy have Lillith for a name?!" Lillith huffed with a bright red face and Levi chuckled.
"No, I...quite like it" Levi replied, then making sure to never forget, he said it again softly, "Lillith"
