77 Chapter 71: Fizbo (Part 2)

-Mitchell Household-

Cameron is seen standing in the kitchen wearing a blue sweater. Phil then emerges in the living room holding a silver machine led by Mitchell.

When Cameron sees Phil, he says, "See you in a few hours."

Phil replies back while walking, "Yeah. Thanks again, karaoke machine. I will return it to you right after the party."

Cameron, who had gotten busy in the kitchen, leaves everything, looks at Phil, and replies, "That would be much appreciated."

Mitchell standing with his back towards the door hears this conversation and immediately whispers, "Please don't. I beg you. Don't.. don't bring it back.

Phil whispers back, "Oh, okay."

Mitchell, who was wearing a grey-lined brown sweater, then opens the main door to allow Phil to take his leave.

Phil is just about to head out but is intercepted by Cameron's question, "Hey Phil. Are, uh, you getting a clown for today?"

Phil answers, "Oh… no. Luke, uh, Luke's not much of a clown fan."

Cameron is taken aback by this and asks, "Really? is that so?"

Phil replies immediately, "Yeah, never liked them."

Cameron asks, "Has he ever seen a good one?"

Phil replies, "Has anyone really?"

Phil then starts to exit through the door, but due to his good manners, he once again thanks the two for lending him the karaoke machine.

"Yup, okay, see you later," Mitchell replies while closing the main door in a hurry, as he knows what will happen next.

The moment the door closes, Cameron instantly asks, "No clown? No… no clown?"

Mitchell gestures a stop with his right arm and says, "Let it go. While walking back to the sofa.

"Who organizes a party without a clown?" continues Cameron.

Sitting on a white couch on his apple mac, Mitchell replies, "Since the later 30s, I'd say most people."

Cameron then recalls something and says, "You know what? We haven't gotten Luke a present yet. Maybe a clown could be our present."

Cameron says this while walking toward Mitchell before sitting beside him on the couch.

Mitchell explains, "Cameron, Cameron…If Phil and Claire wanted to get Luke a clown, they would have."

"This is not our party."

Cameron insists, "But.." and gets rudely interrupted by Mitchell, who says, "No if, no but, no coconut."

Cameron continues, "But I'm just..." and stops only upon receiving death stares from Mitchell.

Cameron says, "Fine. What would you suggest we get him, then?"

Mitchell thinks for a second and replies, "Mhhh, we can get him a gift card."

Cameron looked disgusted by the idea and replied sarcastically, "Ah yes, let's get an 11-year-old kid who doesn't know any better a gift card, as that would be the perfect gift."

Mitchell replies, "See exactly what I was thinking, as he can choose what he wants."

Cameron looks at Mitchell with contempt and says, "Who hurt you, Mitchell? Who hurt you?" before leaving the couch and walking away.

-Pritchett Household-

Jay is seen climbing down a staircase wearing a purple shirt with light white stripes while carrying a black metallic crossbow.

While walking down, he asked, "Hey Gloria, you got any idea how to wrap one of these things?

Gloria was dressed in a black dress, standing in the living room, looked at what Jay was referring to, and asked, "Is that a crossbow?"

Jay answered, "Yeah, so am I the greatest grandpa in the world, or what?"

Gloria smiled at Jay and replied, "This has to be a joke, right? Hahaha, you got me. Good one, Jay. Good one."

Jay, hearing Gloria quickly said, "This is not a joke. I am being serious here."

Gloria replied back, "Come on, Jay, you can't be serious. We can't give Luke a crossbow. He pokes himself in the eye every time he uses a straw."

Jay replies, "Come on, it's not that bad."

Gloria asks, "What made you think of this in the first place?"

Jay explains, "I used to have one when I was his age. My dad even gave me a quarter for every crow I bagged."

Gloria tries to reason and says, "And I used to have a machete, but times have changed."

Jay scoffs and says in a low tone, "Like you don't still have one."

Gloria looks at Jay angrily and asks, "What was that?"

Jay replies, "Nothing."

Gloria asks, "So, are we done?"

Jay replies, "Look, he will be fine. I will teach him how to use it myself."

Manny walks in wearing a light purple t-shirt with a creamy white middle portion.

Seeing Manny walk in, Jay asks, "Hey, pal. How's it going?"

Standing right next to Jay, Manny hears this and asks, "Am I charming?"

Jay instantly goes, "Oh boy, here we go."

Gloria answers, "Of course you're charming! Who said you were not charming."

Manny walks toward his mother, Gloria, while answering, "No one. But there is a girl at my school, and I want her to like me."

Manny then goes and sits down on the couch, and Gloria follows suit and sits down next to him.

Manny then turns around toward Jay and says, "I need your advice, Jay."

Jay, who had placed the black metallic crossbow down at the kitchen counter, starts walking towards Manny and asks, "Really?"

Manny replies, "She's gonna be at Luke's party."

Jay sits down while replying, "Well, I am..a little thrown. I mean, you don't usually come to me for advice."

Manny answers, "Well, this is one area you have done pretty well."

Manny points his left hand toward Gloria near the end of his sentence.

Gloria, hearing this tells Jay, "He has a point."

Hearing this, Jay tries his best to withhold his smug smile, but it still manages to appear on his face.

Manny continues, "I have tried everything to get her attention. Opening doors for her, having her milk sent over in the cafeteria… but nothing seems to work."

Jay explains, "Here's the deal, okay girls, don't go for all that romantic stuff. They go for power and success, and since you don't have either, you are gonna have to be the funny guy."

Manny nods while Gloria smiles, and the scene ends.
