Ninja Academy, a shitstain I'd avoid at all, but today was graduation day, something that the common sheep of the leaf village celebrated. But if I had my way, I'd never be a ninja. Who in their right mind would like to be an assassin for a living? Sadly, teenagers like myself need to eat for a living.

I forced myself inside my classroom and gazed at Iruka, my teacher, for the last few years. Today is possibly the last day I'd see the man, and that idea made my heart skip a beat because from now on I'm an official ninja of the damned leaf village.

Iruka stated, "For team seven Naruto Uzumaki."

Naruto, huh? I was hoping to avoid that giant pitfall of a situation. Not sure why everyone hates him, but everyone hates him. The adults tell us to avoid him, but god forbid they give us a reason. The teachers treat him like shit.' Something was going on, and Naruto was at the center of it.

"Sakura Haruno."

Naruto beamed, but in contrast, I wondered why would they pair up Naruto with Sakura? The lass hates him! Who in the world is making these teams? Are they stupid? This could get Naruto killed! I don't think they would ever work together properly.

I rolled my shoulder. Maybe these teams are meaningless? Or, maybe it was because Sakura had problems getting along with everyone, as she is busy trying to get in Sasuke's pants.

"Sasuke Uchiha." Well, that's another bullet dodged. Besides Sakura and Ino, who in the world would want to pair up with golden-boy?

Naruto and Iruka shared some antics, something about Naruto not being on the same team as Sasuke, and yea, I agree that is a terrible team, Naruto and Sasuke's rivalry mixed with the dynamic around Sakura does not fit well.

"And, now Team 8, Kubo Kin."

Now I stared at Iruka while trying to focus on more important things, like my future teammates and their reactions.

"Hinata Hyuga."

A Hyuga? Amazing short-range fighters, with long-range vision. Though, it made me wonder, why a short-range fighter with long-range vision?

"Shino Abaurme."

Shino did not show any reaction, as expected. Anyways, the silent type thankfully, he's not an edgelord like Sasuke. And, with him and Hinata, it seems my team will be a powerhouse.

Iruka said, "Alright team eight, go meet your teacher at Ichiraku Ramen."

Me and my team headed out. And, while interested in meeting up with our new teacher, we had no idea what they looked like. It's not like information on our jounin could be found anywhere. But, before we finished our order, a red-eyed woman with a white tracksuit approached our table while flicking her hair. "Hello, I'm Kurenai. Follow me."

I gazed at Kurenai for a moment. She did not have casual clothes, nor did she have an outfit suited for ninja work. "Who are you?"

She answered, "Your jounin instructor."

After a quick meal, we followed the woman to the outskirts of the village in silence, like the rest of my team.
