48 048 - Saving Jorge

A few days have passed since I have traveled with Noble Team and I have stayed with them for a couple of missions already.

'Sword Base', 'NightFall', and even 'Tip of the Spear'.

With the Covenant Invasion force being discovered during Operation Nightfall and the UNSC attacking the covenant in operation 'Tip of the Spear' I have gained massive amounts of Divine Energy and with the invasion in full force countless people are dying across Reach.

And Noble Team was about to participate in Operation 'Long Night of Solace' where I am sure Jorge would die...

Standing around in a cave all of Noble Team was going through a briefing.

Crouched down to the ground Kat with Emile's knife started to brief the others.

"Objective? Destroy Covenant Carrier in geosynchronous orbit above us. Method? A slip-space drive in lieu of the nukes we do not have. Delivery System? Us. Solvable? Getting us there. That and getting our hands on a slip-space drive. Thank you for sharing." Kat told everyone before handing Emile his knife back.

Once they were briefed they all decided to head to Sabre Program Launch/Research Range, Farkas Lake, Esposz to get their hands on some space flight-capable vehicles.

So through the use of a Falcon Noble Team was dropped off a short distance away from the facility onto the beach.

"Bit of a hike to the launch facility..." Jorge commented.

"Any closer is too hot to land," Carter responded.

"Copy that commander," Kat replied.

"Move up the beach Noble!" Carter ordered.

As they moved up the beach dozens of drop pods came down from the sky releasing Sangheili, Ungoy, and also Kig-Yar to fight against Noble Team.

With Noble Team's strength, they easily cleared out the Covenant Threat and approached the base.

Once they made it into the facility Noble Six and Jorge got into a Saber and launched from the site, meanwhile, the rest of Noble Team did all they could from the ground, mostly hunting down any Covenant troopers and Covenant bases they can find.

Meanwhile, in the planet's atmosphere Noble Six and Jorge were fighting against many Covenant ships and cleared the space station of as many threats as possible.

Once it was clear the UNSC men on the station hooked up the slip-space drive to a Pelican.

With the Pelican, the Sabre that was piloted by Noble Six and Jorge, several other fighter ships and even a UNSC Corvette named the Savannah were all heading towards the Covenant Corvette Carrier.

As Savannah fired towards the Carrier with its cannons directing the Covenant's cannons towards the ship the Sabre Fighter Ships flew down to the Covenant Carrier and began destroying the Covenant's cannons and even destroying the carrier's engines.

Once the Covenant Ship was a sitting duck with its engines destroyed the Sabre FIghter ships landed above the hanger on the ship.

Once inside the ship, Noble Six and Jorge along with a small group of UNSC Marines entered the ship and began making their way towards the Comm Center.

As they fought through the ship with its low gravity killing any and all Covenant they soon reached the Comm Room where they killed the crew working in the Comm Room.

After they did that they headed back to the hanger to clear it of all hostiles to provide a safe place for the Pelican to land.

Once done Noble Six with a squad of marines headed for Bridge so they could direct the Corvette towards the Supercarrier where the Corvette would act as a vessel for the bomb.

As they headed for the Brig suddenly the Covenant on board the ship managed to get the Ship's cannons back on and began firing at the Savannah...

Without being able to protect itself Savannah took on all of the ship's fire directly causing many parts of the ship to explode and catch on fire...

Then suddenly a large explosion and radio silence came from the falling Savannah...

It appears, that Savannah is going down...

Soon making it to the Bridge Noble Six took care of the Covenant crewmates in the brig before setting the auto-pilot to go for the Super Carrier...

"Six, our ride out of here is taking heavy fire, get back to the hanger," Jorge spoke through the radio to Noble Six.

Backtracking to the hanger Noble Six killed any Covenant in his way and found that the Pelican and Jorge were under attack by some Covenant soldiers in the hanger.

Once taken care of Noble Six and Jeorge were the only survivors, the other UNSC Marines were not lucky enough to survive the fight.

Walking up to the bomb Jorge started muttering to himself before telling Noble Six, "Well, I got good news and bad news. This bird took some fire and her thruster gimbal is toast, which means the only way off this slag heap is gravity."

"And the Good news?" Noble Six asked.

"...That was the good news," Jeorge told Noble Six before taking off his helmet with a female voice talking in the background saying how much longer they had.

"Bad news is, timer's fried. I'm gonna have to fire it manually..." Jeorge explained.

"That's a one-way trip..." Noble Six told Jeorge.

"We all make it sooner or later...Better get going, Six, they're gonna need you down there. Listen, Reach has been good to me. Time has come to return the favor," Jeorge told Six before ripping off his dog tags and handing them to Noble Six.

Grabbing onto Noble Six's hand and lifting him off the ground, "Don't deny me this...Tell 'em to make it count," Jeorge told Noble Six before tossing him out the Corvette...

As Noble Six fell down to Reach he watched as the 'small' Corvette approached the Super Carrier before suddenly a huge explosion with the Corvette at the center devoured half the supercarrier causing the remaining parts of the Super Carrier to catch on fire and begin plummeting down towards reach.

Suddenly dozens if not more Covenant Ships of similar size jumped out from Slip-stream...

Meanwhile, mear moments before the explosion Jorge sighed and closed his eyes before pressing a red button.

As his vision went white and his senses going tense from the expected pain he froze upon finding that he felt nothing, no pain or even a sense of touch.

Upon opening his eyes he found that he was floating within a black void.

"So the afterlife is real?" I asked out loud looking around the void.

"Who knows, I certainly am not 𝘥𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 to find out," A voice chucked.

Turning around I found a handsome man with beautiful golden long hair with two beautiful blue eyes.

Looking at his white robe covered in golden patterns I asked "So I died?"

"Died? No, you're still alive and healthy. I just plucked you from your dimension before you could die," he explained.

"Who...who are you? Are you God?" I asked doubtfully.

"While I am a God, I am not one you are familiar with, let's just say I have been watching Noble Team for a while and may have even pranked you guys a few times," He chuckled again.

Pranks? What is he..."Wait that was you?!" I asked thinking about the strange chuckle from Falcon ride a while back.

"Sure was! Anyways I saved you before you could die," he explained once again.

"Why?" I asked simply.

"Why what?" He asked.

"Why save me?" I rephrased.

"Because I felt like it, knowing that your entire team would die after all of your heroic acts I felt like saving you all," He explained.

"Wait! The others are going to die!" I asked hurriedly.

"Yep, but now that I am here I will not let that happen," he explained.

Calming down I asked, "What happens now that you saved me?" I asked.

"Nothing as long as I stop you from interfering with the timeline," he explained.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Who knows what could happen if I release you back to your dimension. For all I know your reappearance could cause a butterfly effect that may cause Humanity to lose the war and go extinct," he explained.

"What?!" I shouted in surprise.

"Relax, since I won't let you or the rest of Noble Team screw up the timeline everything should work out in the end," He explained.

"But what about reach? What will happen to Reach!" I shout.

"Sadly Reach will fall," he explained.

"Then send me back!" I shout.

"No, as I have said your appearance after your supposed 'death' may cause a butterfly effect and I cannot allow that," he explained.

"I don't care! I won't just sit here and watch as everyone on Reach dies!" I shout in anger.

"Sadly I cannot allow this, I will be back later to give you some food and water, I will also give you some entertainment and some solid ground to sit on, see you later," He explained before suddenly disappearing.
