7 007 - The Slime's Overpowering Unity

The players have once again started the grind for EXP.

Each of the Village NPC's give random tasks that would refresh after every hour that would help the players in their grind.

Some were slime hunting tasks and others were deliver tasks.

Hunting tasks were much better than delivery tasks in both EXP and money so players tended to aim for hunting tasks.

That doesn't mean that delivery tasks are completely ignored, some of the players still accept those tasks.

[C.I. Delta-Ranked soldier, Michael Bigg's POV]

Once night arrived I lay in my bed and whispered "Log into Glory of the Gods."

Once I said that phrase my vision went black before returning to me.

I found myself at the exact place I logged out with Kyle.

[A/N: Kyle's original name was Michael as well, but I went back and changed it to help ease your confusion and to help you all differentiate the C.I. Agent and the man trapped in Ikea]

Soon Kyle logged in as well as all the other players.

I think all of the players in this...game, live in the same time zone, I don't know about how time would work in the...Ikea, but from what Kyle told me his time was the exact same as mine.

[A/N: Time zones are confusing for me and I am lazy so I won't go too far into detail about it]

We walked over to the lady who gave us the Slime hunting task and turned in the slime vials for the task.

[Your party has completed an Old Alchemist's Task!]

[You have gained 50 EXP, 15 Copper Coins, and the Level 1 Basic Plant Identification Skill!]

Suddenly as if my brain was being squished a large amount of information began to flow into my mind...

I grunted in pain as I felt my head throbbing in pain.

Kyle was facing the same pain as I was and grunted in pain.

After a minute of pain, it slowly faded away and newfound knowledge was in my head!

I could now mentally identify common plants and some of their properties!

Suddenly the Old Alchemist spoke once again.

"If you wish to help me a little bit more I can offer to teach you, young boys, a little bit about Alchemy," she told us as a new quest appeared.

[You have gained a new quest!]

[Gather Some Slime Vials for the Old Alchemist]

[Gather 75 Slime Vials from Slimes (0/75)]

[Rewards: 250 EXP, 30 Copper Coins, and Level 1 Basic Alchemy Skill]

We both accepted the task and ventured back out to the slime forest.

We used the same tactic we used yesterday, we agroed a horde of slimes and had them chase us while we turned around and fired our spells towards them.

But...to our surprise, It wasn't the same as last time...

We started running across level 7 Slimes!

A level 7 slime had 700 HP and would take a while for us just to kill a single one of them...

Would a Level 8 Slime appear tomorrow?

Do slimes raise in level every day?

Thankfully they are quite slow...

Once we turned around to run away we found that we were surrounded!

Turns out we were in an area that had no other players, which meant ALL of the slimes in the area converged towards us at the center...

"Uh...How the hell will we get out of this encirclement?" Kyle asked.

"We most likely won't," I told Kyle.

"So I guess let's kill as many as we can?" Kyle suggested.

I nodded and we started firing our spells into the swarm of slimes.

As we expected our spells didn't even kill one before we were devoured by the horde of slimes...

We screamed in agony as the slimes melted our flesh to the bone...

After minutes of mind-breaking torture, the pain finally ended and we found ourselves in a black abyss by ourselves.

[You have died!]

[Due to being under level 10 you will only lose 25% of your exp!]

[You will respawn in an hour!]

We floated in the blank void waiting and talking to each other while we waited to respawn.

Once an hour passed with a flash of light we appeared once again in the village.

I had 700/1,000 EXP before death but now I have 525/1,000 EXP.

I lost exactly 25% of my total EXP.

Same with Kyle, he lost 25% of his total exp.

How much EXP would we lose upon death once we are level 10 and above?

50%?

75%?

100%?

I guess we should try our hardest to avoid death then since it has such a horrible penalty...

Not only would we lose a lot of EXP we would also have to feel the excruciating pain that comes with death...

We walked side by side towards the slime forest and I couldn't help but ask "In the real world are you able to do it too?"

"Use the Magic that our characters can use? Yea..." Kyle answered.

"But not just that, our real bodies have become just as strong as our characters," I muttered thinking about this...game.

This Game must be some kind of SCP, what else could explain what this Game can do to our real bodies?

Now we can use magic and even our bodies reflect the attributes of our characters.

If we increased the strength of our character then our strength in the real world would increase as well.

I used to have around maybe 8 points ins strength before this game but now that my strength is 10 my real body's strength has increased with it!

What happens when our strength reaches 100? Or even 1,000?

Would we still count as human?

I had so many questions with no one to answer them...
