12 Hidden Ability

The beginning of the third week of school.

While the freshmen are still enjoying campus life, Scorpius is already racing against time. While he is not in class or on weekends, he spends his time at the library, according to the reading list he has created for the past two weeks. Only five minutes before the library closed did Scorpius reluctantly leave his seat and then borrow at least 10 books under the inspection of librarian Ms Pince. Then he uses the hourglass in the quiet room at night to continue his crazy book reading journey!

These strange behaviours of Scorpius finally caught the attention of Ms Pince. Ms Pince always observes the teenager silently. She was very curious how a freshman can read more than 20 books daily and maintain this speed day after day, and more than half of the books are magic books that students in 7th grade are required to learn- this includes transfiguration, charms, potions, and defensive magic.

While Ms Pince was observing Scorpius, she did not know that Scorpius was also observing her. In Scorpius's eyes, this plain-looking Ms Pince was not simple at all. Scorpius can see through the magical power of others. With the increase of his knowledge, he has a rough judgment on the magical power value of each person in his mind. On the day of the entrance ceremony, he observed the professor's seat Principal Dumbledore has the highest magic value. His magic was fiery and arrogant; followed by the four deans. Snape, McGonagall, Flitwick, and Sprout have significantly more magical powers than Lucius. Professor Sinistra in astronomy and Ms Hooch in flight class have a much worse magic value than Lucius. Ms Pince's magic power is only slightly worse than the four deans, but her magic is a bit special, giving Scorpius a cold and weird feeling. This discovery made Scorpius decide not to provoke Ms Pince casually. For now, the desire for the books in the Restricted Section can only be suppressed.

Time flies quickly. Two months have passed. Halloween is coming. As per the plot of the first year, Professor Quirrell attempted to steal the Philosopher's Stone on that day.

Having studied for two months without interruption, and spending some time at night fighting Dobby, today's Scorpius is not what he once was when he first began school. Scorpius spent at least ten hours a day practising spells during these two months thanks to his deliberate time arrangement and the use of the hourglass for four more hours each day. This is ten times the time spent by a normal student and now this hard work has finally paid off. Not only has Scorpius mastered many senior curses, but he has also practised Occlumency. Speaking of Occlumency, Scorpius originally thought it would be very difficult magic. After all, Harry was so exhausted in the original book that he was not successful in practising it in the end. But to Scorpius's surprise, Occlumency was not very difficult for Scorpius. As he read carefully the "Occlumency Practice Guide" book he found in the library, he followed every step clearly and succeeded in getting the brain into an ethereal state on the first try. For unknown reasons, Scorpius searched the library for material about spiritual magic. He discovered that the difficulty of spiritual magic is different for different people, and the difference in spiritual strength causes a wide range of differences in mental control.

{ Occlumency skills acquisition! }

With the mentality of giving it a try, Scorpius tried to learn the lowest-level hypnotic spell, confusion spell, refreshing spell, and happiness spell in spiritual magic. He also successfully released the magic on the first attempt and used Dobby as the experimental object. Dobby got sleepy, confused, excited, silly, and smirking... Now Scorpius also noticed something was wrong. Like many branches of magic, spiritual magic is very advanced magic. Even the lowest level of spiritual magic, such as the Happiness Curse, is at least within the scope of the third-grade curse. Despite Scorpius' innate talent to learn spells faster than most other people, he is limited by his age and magical value in the body, making it impossible for even the most powerful wizard to master on the first try. Scorpius faintly perceives that maybe this is because his bloodline power is the "Magic Eye" that conceals many abilities which need to be examined in greater depth?

On Halloween, Professor Flitwick announced in the spell class that he thought they could start practising the Levitation charm. Since the students saw Scorpius rescue Neville with this spell in the first flight class, they have been eagerly hoping to try this skill. Professor Flitwick divided the class into two groups and started training. Draco and Pansy are in a group, Daphne and Meredith are in a group, and Scorpius is already proficient in this spell, and does not need to be grouped with anyone. As a result, he can assist a few people on the side, just like a small assistant.

"Well, don't forget the subtle wrist movements that we've been training!" Professor Flitwick stood on his pile of books, as usual, screaming, "Swish and Flick, remember, one swish it. It's also very important to recite the spell."

In the past two months, thanks to Scorpius' training, the little wizards in Slytherin have grown a lot. Among them, Draco, Daphne, and Meredith have made the most progress. Of course, Scorpius is inevitable. As for the two of Goyle and Crabbe, Scorpius doesn't like them very much. Crabbe is not as calm and honest as he appears on the surface. In the original book, he quietly learned dark magic including the Fiendfyre curse. Now, it is only necessary for the situation to be Draco's follower honestly. If there is any difference in Malfoy's family, Crabbe will expose his ambition. In Scorpius's view, the reason why Draco in the original book went wrong and almost went astray is the influence of these two friends must be a big factor.

Under Scorpius's guidance, Draco was the first to successfully release the Levitation Charm, allowing the feathers to float in the air, followed by Daphne and Meredith, whom each won 5 points for Slytherin. The fourth successful is a girl with long black hair from Ravenclaw. Her appearance and facial features are very delicate, and the most attractive is her elegant and calm temperament and her dignified hairstyle with curly hair. The whole person exudes a strong scroll atmosphere and has a unique intellectual beauty. Even Scorpius, who was accustomed to seeing beautiful women, still had an amazing feeling, and inexplicably had an urge to get acquainted with her. Although Scorpius and Ravenclaw's classmates have not yet had any intersection, Scorpius, who has a terrible memory, still flashed the girl's name during the sorting ceremony—Morag MacDougall.

The other little wizards did it over and over again, but Feather still lay motionless on the floor. One of the Ravenclaw boys, Scorpius remembers his name is Michael Corner. He is a handsome playboy, because of the outstanding performance of Slytherin, Michael, who is eager to show himself, waved hard. With the magic wand, the result-with a bang, the feather exploded. Although the explosion was not powerful, it still burned an embarrassing hole in his cuff...

The floating spell is a simple version created by countless predecessors who have simplified and reduced the complex gravity reversal magic. It is not difficult to successfully display it—it only requires simple recitation of the spell and the correct swing posture. But Scorpius was more than satisfied with simply letting the feathers float. Scorpius knows that Hogwarts teaching content will only teach the basic principles and applications of these magics. But all the magic spells trace their roots, and they will involve a bunch of more complex theories and more advanced uses. For example, the Patronus charm in the original book could only expel dementors, but Dumbledore was able to use it to relay messages from a distance and even release multiple entity patron saints.

After Scorpius's disassembly and analysis, he found that the floating spell is composed of four parts, namely "floating"-allowing the target item to relieve the influence of gravity; "hovering"-allowing the target item to be at a designated position in mid-air Hover; "shift shape"-letting the target item move according to the caster's wishes; "landing"-letting gravity return to the target item, and even increasing the influence exerted by gravity.

Scorpius easily allowed the feathers in front of him to float. With Scorpius's wand, the feathers moved gently in the direction indicated, even floating in midair, rotating and flipping, and then, with a perfect arc, they floated into the feather box on the professor's desk. Slytherin's little wizards have long been accustomed to this performance, but the Ravenclaw little wizards present are full of pressure inside—Slytherin has Scorpius, and it seems that this year's House Cup is basically hopeless. Professor Flitwick also admired Scorpius and gave Slytherin 10 points. Now Slytherin's score is 30 points ahead of second-placed Ravenclaw. On the other hand, Gryffindor is at the bottom, where the difference is 60 points.

Professor Flitwick left Scorpius alone after class and asked him to write a paper describing his experience with the Levitation Charm and submit it to "Curse Innovation". At the same time, he used this as a reason to invite Scorpius to join his Charms club. Scorpius has decided to use his strength and reputation to revitalize the family, so he is willing to come to these clubs that can increase his reputation.
