The Origins

The alarm clock had just sounded and Fred was already up, ready for another day of school. His father barely opened the door when Fred came out saying hello to his parents.

"Wow already up son?" Her father exclaimed, patting Fred on the head.

Fred wore his red and white t-shirt with blue jeans and sneakers. Even though he liked scarves because he said they showed off his eyes and blonde hair, he had decided not to wear any today. He walked over to the fridge and took out his toast he had made ahead of time yesterday. He greeted his parents before heading for the door to be on time for school.

"Fred... can we talk to you 5 minutes before you leave?" His father asked, sitting next to his mother who was watching him out of the corner of her eye

Fred nodded with a smile and took a seat next to his parents.

"So my brother rang the bell this weekend and I... regret to tell you that because of their school failures, he decided to make them change schools. I am sorry." Mr Jones said looking at his son as Fred's smile disappeared to reveal a few tears.

"Awww Fred" said his mother as she hugged her son "I'm sure you will make other friends, after all you are a boy full of potential and charisma"

Seeing that his son was not in a good mood following the news, Mr. Jones decided to drive his son to school. After arriving in front of the school, he patted his son on the shoulder.

"Come on champion, I know you're gonna handle. See you tonight to go buy you a costume because don't forget that this weekend is Halloween just two days away" Mr. Jones said to comfort his son.

Fred tried to smile slightly as he got out of the car. As soon as they got there the bell rang and Fred walked over to his classroom and the first thing he saw were the two empty chairs where his two cousins were supposed to be sitting. Fred sighed and went to his usual spot. As he got out of his lesson, he heard someone calling him and he turned and noticed a girl calling him. He knew this girl well, she was Daphne, the daughter of the Blake, the richest family in the area. Daphne had long been the girl he loved the most, but he hardly ever spoke to her.

"Hi Fred." said the beautiful redhead "Are you all alone? Aren't there your cousins? "

"They changed schools" Fred replied simply feeling his tears return

"Oh I'm sorry" Daphne replied, putting her hands over her mouth ashamed of making Fred unhappy. "Wait, I have an idea!" Come on Velma, we'll keep her company" she said, settling down next to Fred, where her cousins used to sit.

She was accompanied by Velma, a Latin American girl wearing an orange skirt and sweater and who wore glasses

"Fred, let me introduce you ..." said Daphne

"I know Velma" said Fred laughing slightly.

"We've been in the same class for years" said Velma, also smiling.

"Wonderful" said Daphne very happy to learn that her two friends knew each other "We could maybe eat in the canteen together this afternoon"

"I would like that very much" Fred replied while Velma nodded to validate Daphne's idea.

Fred already felt much better during the day while his teacher was interrupted during his class by the principal

"Hello kids" the principal said as he entered with a student wearing a green t-shirt and brown shorts. "Sorry to bother you, I'm here to introduce you to a new student who has just arrived. His name is Sammy "

"No it's Shaggy sir" the student replied while the other students already started laughing at him due to the principal's fault.

Fred didn't understand why everyone was laughing at the poor boy as he went to sit at the back of the class with the laughter of the other students.

During the lunch break, Fred had settled in with the two girls as he saw that the new student seemed rejected by the others and was eating under a tree. Fred didn't see what had happened to him but he noticed that all of a sudden, all the students seemed to be laughing at the new student. At the end of the day, Fred thanked the two girls for the day before heading home.

"Fred, wait! "Said Daphne running to catch up with him" The day after tomorrow is Halloween and since we have tomorrow off, I wanted to ask you if you would like to come with me with Velma for the candy harvest? "

"That would be great" Fred replied smiling.

"Great, we'll meet in front of the school in two days at 6 p.m." said Daphne, giving him a kiss on the cheek before leaving

Fred blushes slightly and on his way home he smiles at his parents

"Something tells me it's been a good day" said Fred's mother when she saw her smile

"I think the day even went off beautifully" Mr Jones said seeing a trace of lipstick on his son's cheek. "Well let's go buy your Halloween costume" said Fred's dad.

"Fred hugged his parents and got into his father's car to pick up his costume.

EARLIER IN THE DAY

~~~~~~~~~~
The alarm clock had just sounded, Shaggy, a young boy of 8, got up from his bed with a sigh. Today he had just got up in his new home. Her parents had told her the news of the move earlier in the week. Following the promotion of his father, Shaggy would now move to California, Los Angeles more precisely. As soon as he got there, Sammy noticed a beautiful beach, the perfect place to go for ice cream. The house wasn't that bad according to Shaggy and he was feeling pretty good. Unfortunately, new home means new school and this is where he was walking. His quickest route was along the vacant lot next to the highway. So far, everything was going well when suddenly he heard a scream from behind a bush. Shaggy being very fearful jumped in fear before starting to run to school. Arrived there, Sammy went to introduce himself to the principal before heading with him in his new class.
"Hello kids," the principal said as he entered with a student wearing a green t-shirt and brown shorts. "Sorry to bother you, I'm here to introduce you to a new student who has just arrived. His name is Sammy "
"No it's Shaggy sir" Shaggy replied with a sigh as the other students started laughing at him because of the headmaster.
Ashamed, Shaggy moved to the back of the classroom while during class time he would often get pieces of paper in his face where he could read "Get the new guy out" or "Sammy the sucker". A student even gave him a dog collar.
"Hey, a present for you it's my old dog Simon Doo but it was old fashioned and you are no better than him Sammy Doo" said the student laughing
During lunchtime, he took out his eggplant and strawberry jam sandwich, which caused disgust among the other students, forcing him to eat outside. It was at this point that a pigeon decided to drop a dung on Shaggy, which made the other students in the canteen laugh. Shaggy, in tears, went to clean himself in the bathroom and, at the end of the day, he had one urge to be alone in his room like the unloved that he was.
"Like I don't ever want to go back there again" Shaggy said as he made his way home through the wasteland.
However, the same cry as last time rings out. Shaggy started to panic and looked over to the bush where the scream seemed to come from. Panicked but curious, Shaggy wanted to know what that scream he had heard this morning was like. Shaking the bush a little, Shaggy didn't expect to see what he saw. In front of him was a small brown dog with black spots that howled at death. Her necklace was tied with a rope to a tree. Shaggy walked slowly over to the dog. The dog screamed in fear when he saw Shaggy and Shaggy did the same when he saw him. After a few seconds of screaming, the two laughed at the ridiculous situation.
"Hi you. You are like lost?" Shaggy asked, patting the dog's head and giving him a piece of sandwich he had left. "Wow I didn't know anyone could like my sandwiches," he smirked as he saw the dog eat his sandwich. "Besides, I think you should like my cookies." I don't know if you know Scooby Snacks" said Shaggy laughing.
"Nope I don't know these cookies" answered the dog which made Shaggy howl while the dog started to howl again.
"Like are you talking dog? What is this madness?" Said Shaggy dropping the box of cookies
"Oh sorry! I didn't mean to scare you. It's a genetic problem I think "said the dog
"My god, a talking dog. I'm going to have problems with the FBI, I mustn't stay here" said Shaggy running away from the dog.
Shaggy had barely run when he heard the dog cry. Shaggy stopped abruptly and hesitated to turn around.
"Come on Shaggy go. This dog will probably get you in trouble." He said to himself before turning around slightly. "Like... where are your masters?" He asked
"After they adopted me and heard me speak, they tied me to this tree saying they would come back." Said the dog
"And when did they tell you that like that during the day?" Shaggy asked
"3 days ago" replied the dog with tears in his eyes.
At his words, Shaggy slowly returned and untied the dog who to thank him brought back his box of biscuits which made Shaggy laugh.
"I see you like the cookies my dear... Scooby-Doo" Shaggy said as the dog looked at him oddly. "What you gotta have a name and Scooby isn't that bad and for the Doo... it's a long story." Shaggy said, tying the necklace the student gave her.
"I love it. I promise I will never take it off "said Scooby licking him
"Welcome to the family Scooby-Doo " Shaggy said as he hugs his new best friend
