1 The inevitable fate

Nile, the superhero of Las Vegas is dead.

It all happened in the calm city of Las Vegas. There was a young girl with her secrets, hoping off to eat burger for her breakfast. As she was hoping, she saw a figure covered with green scales, yellow eyes, typically that of snake flying over the sky towards the neon museum.

Suddenly, she turned to a corner and clicked her branded watch. Light surrounded her. Her head was veiled under a purple helmet, her dress changed into a red suit and her hands were now covered with high tech gloves. And out of nowhere, a cool neon red hover board flew to her feet. She jumped on the hover board and reached toward the green figure, Vantae. A supervillain that has been attacking Las Vegas for quite a long time. Also the one reason for attack of supernatural monsters.

Vantae was unimaginably fast enough to outgo her. Just when she thought of her side kick, a boy suited up like hers in the shade of black and green showed up. "Whats up, Luvi? Sorry I was late", Nile, her sidekick and her best friend. The two super heroes tried to keep up with Vantae but in vain. He sped across the museum and made his way out of the city. " its fine, Nile. Besides, don't you think it is weird that Vantae is more faster than he is" she told.

Nile shrugged and followed her. Finally, they stopped in the midst of a demolished building. "strange place. I didnt know this kind of place existed." Luvi stepped carefully, her senses wild for the upcoming attack. "where is Vantae? What is he planning to do?" Nile followed behind.

"looking for me" Vantae appeared behind them and attacked with fire. Luvi was fast enough to dodge it and attacked back with her ice powers. Nile fired with his lasers. "oh cool. Just as I planned." Vantae attacked nonchalantly. Luvi and Nile worked together as they always did. A great team. Vantae kept them busy when an unknown figure activated a portal to nothingness.

When the machine switched to life, Luvi and. Nike got distracted by the sound it produced. There was a strong force pulling them toward the portal. Vantae attacked and the duo had hard time dealing with the force pulling them into the portal. "Nile, you go behind in my hover board and I will keep him distracted" Luvi spoke through her Mike and Nile nodded and flew high. Vantage didn't notice Nile's disappearance since he was caught up with her attacks. As planned, Nile aimed a electroball behind Vantae. It was a heated moment.

All of a sudden, the portal behind Luvi disappeared and reappeared behind Nile. "Too bad. Now it's time for you to disappear" Vantae swifter towards Nile. Nile was fast enough and dodged it and Vantae fell into the portal. He struggled coming out. Luvi breathed in relief. "Good job there. I think we make a great team." Luvi hit him playfully.

"it's your hover board. It's a great tech you know. . You are the real hero" Nile complimented. The duo laughed, completely forgetting the hand that was reaching out to grab Luvi.

Nile reflexes acted and he pushed her away. Vantae grabbed his leg. "Haha gotcha. I am not gonna die alone. You guys die too."

Luvi gasped, "Nile, hold on to the hover board". Nile held onto the hover board and Vantae held off his leg. Nile was fully into the portal, only his head and hand that grabbed her hoverboard was seen. Luvi activated super speed of her hoverboard and put on her own, strength to pull Nile out.

The force was more stronger than when they were fighting. Luvi tried hard but in vain. "Luvi, it's been a great pleasure to work with you"

"Don't say goodbyes. You are never good at them" Luvi pulled hard.

"It is a goodbye. You were a great friend. If I let this go, the city will be finally at peace."

Vantae tugged his leg, "I have not much time left. Luvi inform my parents. My true identity is -"

And finally she was left with nothing but a demolished building. No sign of the portal. Luvi cried. She cried and cried until her knees gave out. She lost not only her side kick superhero friend but also her only friend,her neighbor, her childhood friend for 10 years. "If I knew it was you Mark, I would have told you I was Luna, the girl who was in love with you " she mumbled.

The media reached the site after finally getting the information that the Luni duo, Luna and Nile was chasing Vantae. But what they found was a weeping Luvi.

The news reporter, Mrs. Sally" this is today's news live from the site of the biggest fight. Public saw Vantae was chased by our Luni superheroes, Luvi and Nile. But at the site there is only Luvi. No sight of Nile. Perhaps they finally defeated-". Luna, the Luvi shouted at the top of her lungs.

" NILE IS DEAD. AND SO IS VANTAE"

Mrs. Felice, was a stunning woman, raised Mark alone as a single mom. She was the optimistic person she ever met. Her eyes widened to find the superhero at her door. "Come in. It's such a honor."

"I am sorry. Nile....-Nile.... -" her voice choked. But she shouldn't be choking like atht, she was the reason he is dead.

She swallowed herself, "Nile is dead. He was a great friend and a great superhero. Your son was a great superhero"

The last sentence stilled her. "what... Mark. Mark is Nile" she trembled. Her knees gave up and Luvi pulled her into the room.

"i am really sorry. Mark wanted to tell you, he always loved you." Luvi stroked her hair. She weeped and Luvi gave her shoulder to cry. And there was the two hearts weeping for the dead without knowing that the other felt the same.

After she calmed down, Luvi left and transformed back to Luna. She left for her home, a void in her heart, a guilt that she was the one supposed to be dead and she can never forgive herself. She hated superhero her. "I am the one supposed to be dead, not him..."
