19 Rozan the Architect and Mechanic

Rozan didn't live far from the row of tall buildings. However, the location where he lived was only connected a narrow road that was rarely passed by people. The gangs would not think that there was still someone alive and kicking in this area because there were a lot of dead bodies littered around.

The three of them followed Rozan before they arrived in a dilapidated house. It looked quite bad from outside as if it was not tended for years.

"I have quite a bad fashion sense," Rozan admitted.

The other three chose not to comment. They followed him inside. The house might look bad from outside, but the inside was quite comfortable. There were a few dead Xermo outside the house, which might be the result of Rozan's attack to them.

They entered the living room, which was spacious enough for four grown up to fit inside with enough space to move around.

"Please come in."

"It's not a bad place," William said.

"Thank you."

"Now, would you like to tell us the reason why you bring us here?" William continued.

Rozan smiled and pointed to the chairs. "Please have a seat first. When the world changed, I'm still inside my comfortable home and try not to interfere with the world outside since there's no one who come around."

William nodded. The area was quiet enough, which meant that there shouldn't be anyone who could possibly come close without alarming Rozan. Besides, this kind of rundown house would be out of the question to rob for most people.

What could possibly poor people have?

And at this point of time, gold and such items worth nothing. What mattered the most would be food, so they would try to search from some other places. Since the electricity was cut off, the food in refrigerator would surely turn bad very quickly. Only some dried food could possibly survive.

"Something happened?"

"They killed the survivors," Rozan replied. "And caught the girls who are alive."

Girls…

Gloria's eyes turned dark when Rozan said that. She obviously knew what they were planning to do because it nearly occurred to her. There was no lack of scums in this period of time. Taking advantage of the situation where there was no law and possibly no method to return the situation back to the previous one, they freely did crime.

William tapped the table. "And you want to help?"

"Isn't it wrong to just watch as they killed everyone?" Rozan asked back. He smiled bitterly. "And when I see you fight not long ago, I'm thinking that it's a good idea for me to talk with you."

"Reason?"

"I want to get out of here."

William arched his eyebrows. "I thought you're going to be more comfortable staying inside your home."

Rozan shook his head. He pointed to the hotel nearby. "Right now, most of the Xermo are heading there, but when they run out of ammunition because there are thousands of Xermo, where do you think they'll go? If they truly aim for living being, I'm sure that I'm their target."

For a moment, William passed a glance at Gloria. When the Xermo suddenly moved to the lift, they were already confused. But now it seemed that one of the things that attracted the Xermo was certainly living beings such as them.

"So you want us to bring you out."

"Yes."

"Without the car, how do you think we can leave?"

"There's another car… to be exact, it's a camping bus," Rozan replied. "I'll do some modification on the outer layer to make it stronger so that we can pass some hard terrains, but I'll need your help to drive it."

William looked at Rozan for a moment. "Can you drive?"

"I can only drive normal car…"

Yakov rubbed his chin. "if you want to make modification, how about if you add some kind of weapon installed on the car such as torpedo or…."

Bletak!

"Ignore his suggestion," William cut off Yakov's words while hitting his best friend's head. "Just make sure that you can do it quickly because the hotel will not last for long."

He had seen the situation at the hotel and believed that it would only take a few more hours or days for it to fall. They were wasting so many bullets to kill the Xermo and their ammunition might not be enough to allow them last for a long period of time.

Besides, the pile of corpse outside their gate might help the Xermo to climb up by using the dead bodies.

When that happened, the hotel will surely fall.

"Alright," Rozan accepted readily.

William nodded. He pointed outside. "Now, can you tell us more about those people who change?"

"There are a total of two people who suddenly have their strength increase from what I can see so far," Rozan replied truthfully. "I don't know their name, but one of them become the leader of that gang that kept on robbing the street while the other one is staying at the north area near the capital city."

William furrowed his brows. From what he knew, the capital city had been reduced to be nothing more than blackened ruins. What would one possibly do by staying near the border?

"Do you know what happened to them?" Gloria asked.

Rozan shook his head. "Probably some mutation or something like that. I'm not entirely sure."

Yakov opened his mouth while looking at William, but then he chose to stay silent. The change that he saw in his best friend was small and probably only the result of normal training. However, he still had the feeling that William was actually growing much stronger than what he knew about the latter just a few days prior.

However, he was not entirely sure.
