42 Heading to Police Station

"What are you doing…. F***, you're really getting much stronger," Yakov wanted to curse even more. That was made of metal and normally, they wouldn't be able to even scratch the surface with their bare hand. If anything, it would be good enough if their fist didn't hurt if they try to hit the fence.

And now, William was creating a huge dent on the surface of the fence with just one punch.

Yep, that was truly inhuman.

"I don't feel hurt at all," William responded.

"$%^&*(!"

What greeted him was a series of curse from Yakov. It was only a few days since the nuclear bomb exploded in the capital city and spread the radiation. However, the increase in William's strength was already more than two folds of his previous strength.

Wait, in the first place, can that strength be considered human?

Thinking about that only brought another series of curse to Yakov's mouth. It was no wonder that the metal bat William used was getting deformed so quickly.

"You'll need stronger metal as your next weapon," Yakov finally managed to calm himself down and pointed at William's metal bat.

William glanced down and smiled bitterly. Right, he forgot to replace his metal bat with a new one. In the worst case scenario, he would just need to try fighting head on with the Xermo and those mutated ones.

He would make them eat his fist.

Literally.

Yakov finally managed to open the abandoned car. It was an ordinary panther car with big space at the back that would allow them to load a lot of things. The car's condition was no longer that good since there were several dents, but it was better than the other small cars nearby.

With the wires connecting, Yakov managed to start the car. "Who's driving?"

"I'll drive this time," William responded and walked to the car. He didn't feel any difference in his body but somehow, he also didn't lose control over his strength. It felt a bit weird if he had to be honest since he didn't realize it, yet his body had adapted first to the change.

The viruses were strange.

Slowly, William drove the car while looking out of the window. He glanced at Yakov. "Map?"

"Only in the phone," Yakov said helplessly. He had asked Gloria to give them the copy of the map by using William's phone not long ago. Yakov's hand phone was destroyed on the second day of this incident because of his negliance. There was no way to recover that phone anymore, so he had already thrown it away since he didn't think that they would meet with someone like Gloria.

If only he knew, he would surely keep his phone and ask her to repair it if possible.

The map was also an offline map since it was only providing them with picture. They would have to use the buildings nearby to be able to calculate the real distance to their destination and find out where they were.

"Police station?"

"Only three blocks away. You should turn right after the second traffic lights."

"Ok."

William paid close attention to the street. There were several cars littered the area and didn't seem like they would be used anymore. The destructions were quite severe as if they were hit by another car.

"Yakov."

"Yes?"

"Do you see the changes on the cars?" William asked.

Yakov arched his eyebrows. "Aren't they just look a bit more battered than usual?"

"It's not normal."

"What do you…"

"There might be another mutated Xermo nearby," William blurted out his thought. There was no concrete evidence, but he knew that it was impossible for ordinary Xermo or ordinary human to create such dent.

Yakov inhaled sharply. His eyes shone in dangerous light. The memory of the mutated Xermo that they fought back in the hotel came to his mind. "Do you think it's the same one as before?"

"Probably or might be even stronger."

Glancing to the side, William could see that there were also dent on the metal. It seemed that even though he had grown much stronger ever since the start of this apocalypse, there were many others that were stronger than him.

"The possibility of mutation is 1 in 1 million… the entire area that's locked down has population of at least 50 million including the capital city. If it's calculated properly, there would be at least 50 mutated Xermo or people in the areas alone based on estimation," Yakov said in a low tone.

William nodded lightly. "That one in one million might not necessarily apply to all mutation."

"Huh?"

"It's only the rate for the highest type of mutation since their research is limited," William replied unhurriedly. "What do you think if they also consider slight increase as mutation?"

Yakov's face turned grave. That would mean that there might be even more people who had mutated along with Xermo that was growing much stronger? Ah, he felt like cursing again….

"We've arrived," William changed the conversation. "It's an empty police station."

"Let's go and check the supplies."

"I'll check on the back, and you check the front."

"Roger."
