Sunset Flaming Sect

Huo Jian had his final days on earth alone, but he was most likely the happiest man in the world.

He could be considered extremely unlucky, all his life he was put into situations that did everything to make his life unbearable.

At school, he was bullied, he had no parents or guardians, and had no money. He was a poor man! This was what caused his life to be the worst. After all, the saying goes that a man's confidence is based on the size of his wallet. (Author: I saw this somewhere before, can't verify if it is an actual saying.)

Huo Jian was extremely happy though. People always admired his mindset, but the truth was that he had a reason to be joyful. He had a system.

This system had appeared when he was 12, and this was the catch. He, in this lifetime, could choose to be extremely wealthy and powerful. The other option was the one he chose. A miserable life now, and a life of a protagonist in his next one.

Obviously, he checked all the benefits of both first. The first option would provide him with a system that improves his skills, but they were all in the confines of what a person could do. The second option was ten times better, as he would have a system now where he could get things that would be beneficial in his next life, such as system points and items.

He only had to trade his luck in this life to obtain this legendary cheat. Anyone would be able to tell which option held the greatest value. And so, Huo Jian decided to give up his current life, for an exceptional future.

He was finally going to see it all pay off. In the next life!

Huo Jian woke up with an intense head ache. His body was faring no better as he felt the incredible pain attack him. He could hardly feel his body as the pain cancelled out his sense of touch, hearing, sight, and smell. However, he could taste the metallic taste of copper in his mouth, which he realized was blood.

After what felt like eternity, he was finally given a rest as he slowly pulled his thoughts together. He started to remember who he was and what he was here for. He immediately checked if his system was with him.

"Host! You have recovered by 60%"

Huo Jian sighed in relief as he saw a message pop up. His system was still here, safe and sound. He used all the items he got in his last life.

"Experience has Increased by 1000"

"Experience has Increased by 1000"

"Experience has Increased by 5000"

He had thousands upon thousands of different cards, pills, and redeem-ables. He then used a card called "Memory Inheritance", which he had long ago prepared. Memories of the body's previous owner flooded into his mind. He was a teacher. A teacher at Sunset School.

There were countless powers in this world, and different kinds such as sects, schools, organizations, gangs, nations. There were obviously rankings of power too. 1st stage powers were in infinite in this world. 2nd stage powers could be found begging on streets, 3rd stage too, and 4th stage powers were considered normal. This went all the way up to 10th stage powers, and above them were Saint powers.

The world was much larger than the earth Huo Jian had lived in. A town here could have a couple billion people, cities had more than a hundred trillion people, some of the larger ones having quadrillion and quintillion people. From this one could see how large the world was. Immense!

And furthermore, nations had thousands of cities, the world had hundreds of nations, and the world was only one among trillions of other worlds, and they were all only one sector of the plane which had thousands of more sectors, and the plane was only the smallest and weakest one among the 9 realms...

Huo Jian had a faint suspicion that the world might be a bit larger than earth. Of course, for such a large world there was obviously something called cultivation. Talents too, as in such a large world, how could "talented" people be rare.

Geniuses are considered geniuses because they stand out from the rest due to their strong points, and in this world a genius would truly have to be a Son or Daughter of Heaven.

So how did Huo Jian fit into all of this? He was a part of a 8th stage power called Sunset School. Not only a part of it, the son of the principle. And the only son at that.

Had he been a fool in the past? The answer was that he was considered mysterious. He was powerful, but no one knew how strong he was, not even his father. Huo Jian knew that it was because he had decided to become a scholar. A profession where even the weakest ones were respected by stage powers.

And he also realized another thing, his system referred to itself as, the Scholar System.
