4 The Party

The duo made their way to the gymnasium, as always, they were late. Before entering the premises of the Ashford Academy, you could subtly hear loud music playing from the inside. All that cacophony of people shouting, screaming, talking, and music emanating from the party gave the guys a clue on what kind of atmosphere was inside.

"Oh boy, this is going to be a pain." Gemei thought to himself.

In control, Mei walked into the party; the whole gymnasium had been decorated with balloons attached to the walls and pillars, a banner could be seen in the middle which read, "Break time, here we come." Massive speakers surrounded the room at the eight cardinal points, thus enriching the fidelity of sound reproduction coming off from the DJ booth even though the music itself was bad. Also, not to forget the middle, where the popular kids were dancing and having the time of their lives.

"Just looking at them pisses me off, Mei can we go back now?"

"No, I came here to show you the best time of your life Gemei, now just chill and let's have something to drink. Maybe a BlueCow?"

As he made his way towards the mini bar situated at the back, Mei got spotted by Jackie, the class representative who was assisting at the DJ booth. Jackie was the stereotypical cool guy, tall, athletic, smart, and handsome. However, his personality was not that pleasant, probably because of the ego he built up from everyone licking his boots.

"Guys, look what the cat dragged in, its GEMEI, the guy that nobody likes, who the hell told you to come? You've just made this whole party worthless." Jackie exclaimed, exasperatedly into the microphone.

Everyone in the room turned around and gave Gemei the death stare,

"Mei, I told you this was a bad idea."

"Gemei, shut up, let me take care of this."

Mei's anger was slowly building up, he may look cheerful on the outside but on the inside, his as filled with anger and hatred as Gemei.

"YO! Jackie, do you have a problem mate? I thought this party was for everyone?" Mei fired back annoyed.

"Don't you dare use that tone of voice with me, loner boy." Jackie shot back.

"I'll use whatever tone I want, fuckhead. If you have something to say, come right here, I'm waiting, or should I come to you? Princess." Mei replied smugly.

In the meantime, all the students and the few staff member present were slowly getting hyped about this spat. A fight between the guy hated by everyone and the guy who's loved by everyone.

"I see someone has grown some balls, alright ill happily oblige your offer, and come down there," Jackie replied.

Soon after, he dropped the microphone and ran straight for Mei in the hopes of punching him while yelling, "Better grit those teeth!"

Mei, with all that anger built up inside and oozing to come out, finally had a chance to let loose and get some payback. He dodged the punch, turned around and kicked Jackie right in the ass which sent him flying alongside all that momentum he previously gained from running. It was like pushing a trolley down a steep hill. The class representative ended up inside the mini bar, unconscious. Jackie's crew could not bear to see their leader getting beaten so easily, so they each took chairs and rushed at Mei. Our hero managed to beat every single guy in that stupid crew.

"Mei, you're a badass, how the hell did you beat off six people like that?"

"Gemei listen, I beat them because of you."

"Does anyone else want a piece of me?" Mei yelled. The crowd went silent, a few minutes after that whole commotion, everything went back to normal. Ashford proceeded to the bar where he spent some time drinking and left for home.

"Gemei, wasn't that fun?"

"No, it wasn't, you just fought six people. Well, it sure was entertaining to see them getting their asses handed to them."

Concurrently, inside the gymnasium, Jackie regained consciousness.

"WHERE IS THAT PRICK GEMEI?" He asked infuriated.

"He just left boss."

In a fit of rage, Jackie took a bottle and ran outside in hopes of finding Gemei. To his luck, he saw Gemei's lousy jacket and sprinted straight for him. Poor Mei didn't know what was happening behind him and without any notice, Jackie broke the bottle onto Gemei's head. He dropped as soon as the bottle connected with his head, instant knock out.

Blood slowly ran down his head and onto the street which created a small puddle. Jackie regretting his decision, ran away.

"What the hell just happened, who is carrying me, red hair what is this?" Gemei spoke to himself while slowly glimpsing at whoever was carrying him, then fell unconscious once again.

"To put it bluntly, that was the last day I ever went to any social event, and to add insult to injury, Mei also disappeared. Probably from the concussion I got from Jackie. The following two months were slow, agonizing and to top it off AWFUL. Luckily, you're back now Mei, welcome home."

"Thank you, but for the past two months, I did try to speak, but I guess my thoughts didn't reach you? Forget about that now, its break time ma dude."

Reaching school at ten o'clock had both pros and cons. Advantages first,

he didn't have to sit through the boring mathematics lessons, the teacher for that period was Mr. Jonny, a fifty-year-old who always explained simple questions in the most complicated way imaginable.

The first time Gemei attended his dreary class, he knew that passing with that kind of teacher was like asking a child to solve a Rubik's cube. Ashford took it upon himself to study at home, and to everyone's surprise, got good grades.

"I'm telling you, this academy is worthless, filled only with rich kids who instead of being smart have a rather low IQ and an elevated EGO. They can't bear the thought of me being smarter than them even though I never attend class, pathetic really."

And now the disadvantage, my literature teacher, Miss Sophie, who was in her mid-twenties always gave me a lecture on how coming to school early and attending class was essential. For the past three years, pretty much every teacher and staff member around the campus gave me a lecture on being early. Luckily, realizing that reasoning with me is futile, everyone gave up with the Director himself being helpless. Miss Sophie was the exception, and I hated it.
