7 Battle of Truton

The sound grew closer, little by little Autumn felt more uneasy. This was a first for her. Everyone else was clueless about what was happening. In hopes of calming her nerves, she took the sniper rifle and used its scope to determine where that awful sound was originating from.

It was there, a giant Syncros, about ten meters in height. Colossal, just like titans in 'Attack of Titans' except it was metallic and less gross looking. Just the sight was enough to send shivers down her spine, the creature directly stared into her eyes. That alone gave her a sudden adrenaline boost which completed changed her calm and collected personality to an anxious hyperactive teenager. "Everyone lookout, there's a massive fucking Syncros coming our way." She yelled out loud.

"Shit, Alfie contact HQ immediately and tell them what is going on. Vurdal, Autumn, start shooting and try to hold its advancement, aim for the eyes and legs. Silvio, Alvord, you are with me." Rainhard rapidly dished out all the necessary orders to ensure his team's safety.

Back at headquarters, after receiving the transmission from Alfie, the Captain gave the order to send Uxtroc, a prototype full armor bodysuit which granted its user unimaginable power. As awesome as that may have sounded, the suit was sadly very deadly as every tester who tried to use it was killed instantly due to devastating internal injuries mainly in the brain as the AI which operates Uxtroc rejected them.

"Koldok, what are you thinking? Uxtroc can't be used by anyone. Sending that useless bodysuit is a waste of resources, we should rather focus on sending ammunition and backup." Paien argued about Koldok's orders.

"There is no point arguing with me Paien, my decision is final. Trust me, if there is one person who can control Uxtroc, it's Rainhard."

Back on the battlefield, the Black Knights were facing one of their greatest foes to date. "Rainhard, Koldok is sending us the Uxtroc." Alfie notified everyone.

"Alright everybody, don't let up, we have to destroy this Syncros at all costs."

Despite being in this situation where the result may end in everyone's death, the Black Knight held together like glue. Everyone, from Koldok to Autumn, had dreams. Alvord and Silvio, after years of rehabilitation, finally managed to settle down and make a family with Koldok also settling down after seeing his teammates. Having a home, someone to call you darling, little angels who called you papa, was the best thing for them. This alone motivated everyone exponentially. Face to face with death incarnate, neither one on this team would back down, having taken so many lives, protecting the weak was the only atonement for them.

The beast slowly marched towards them, "Lieutenant, we can't afford to lose any more territory. Alvord and I will buy you guys some time as we are running out of ammo." Silvio proposed in a desperate attempt to stop this monster.

"Absolutely not!" Rainhard refused to send his teammate into a suicidal mission. At the same time, the giant Syncros begun its assault, buildings were falling left and right just like a dandelion after a gentle tap. It seemed effortless.

"Lieutenant look, if we don't do something now, the whole island is going to be destroyed."

Rainhard could not keep his argument any longer and gave Alvord and Silvio the green light to proceed with their plan.

"Silvio, I've always hated and admired your guts; it's been a pleasure working with you."

"Likewise Alvord, likewise. I have to say this now but your sister is fucking hot man, unlike you."

"Screw you dude, jokes apart, you ready for this?"

"Born ready, bring it on."

The duo were both fired up, "Autumn, cover us while we get into position." She replied with, "Loud and clear, good luck."

The plan they came up with, was to use a grappling hook and try to make the giant fall down as the other would go on its head and try to shoot it point-blank with a rocket launcher thus giving it enough momentum to throw its center of gravity off balance. The higher they are the harder they fall, was the thought process behind that plan.

Knowing that one of them would surely die, Silvio told Alvord that he would be the one who will give his life, but Alvord didn't take that fondly which ultimately resulted into a game of rock, paper, and scissors to conclude the argument.

Finally, time to put the plan into action, Alvord was on the ground while Silvio was rapidly making his way from rooftop to rooftop. The Syncros noticed Silvio, but thanks to Autumn who was shooting its eyes gave him enough time to set up. On the other hand, Alfie and Rainhard were waiting for Uxtroc to arrive for it was said to be here in five minutes. Everyone was using a general communication channel as opposed to private ones.

"Lieutenant, it's been an honor to work alongside you for so many years." Alvord and Silvio both proudly told Rainhard their truest feeling.

"The pleasure has always been mine, now make me proud," Rainhard responded while a tear ran down his cheek. Knowing those guys for over ten years would have put anyone into an emotional state. He was about to witness their final moment and their legacy engraved into the future as heroes.

Out in the distance, a drone was approaching at high speed. It was Uxtroc. Simultaneously, Silvio was ready to execute their plan, Alvord had already set up everything on the ground.

*BOOOOM*, an explosion was heard in the distance, Silvio had put their plan into motion. As calculated, the giant slowly lost its balance, however, that wasn't enough to make him fall down. In a desperate attempt to seal the deal, Alvord used a spare grappling hook and shot himself upwards, *BOOOOM*, another explosion. Few feet in front of the giant, Rainhard was preparing to get into Uxtroc.

The moment he put on the helmet, almost instantly, he felt the worst pain imaginable. His internal organs were beginning to break down on a molecular level. Uxtroc rejected him, but that alone was not enough to stop him. While gritting his teeth and using all the willpower he could muster, Rainhard charged straight into the giant and *BOOOOM*, another deafening explosion which practically disintegrated the Syncros. Alfie, Autumn, and Vurdal were all petrified to the scene they had just witnessed.

Back at the Ashford's home, inside the study, Gemei was fully invested into completing Top and Bottom. So much so that he actually became the main character in real life. Fast forward a few hours later, the house started to subtly vibrate at different intervals.

"What the hell is going on here, I can't concentrate with my house dancing on its own."
