17 Chapter Seventeen

"What?!!! What are you going to do?!!!" Cameron shouted loudly.

Siegfried hissed in annoyance. He had predicted his cousin would react like this. But he didn't expect Cameron to scream this loud. Maybe he shouldn't have told the man about this.

"Yaaah!! Siegfried Lowells!! Are you sure you will? Y-you've only met him once – oh wait, the second yesterday, wasn't it? B-but… Hey, who are you really? What are you doing with the real Sieg, eh?!!"

Siegfried glared in annoyance. "Yeah, what do you think I'm an alien?! After all, isn't this what you want? In fact, everyone has wanted it for a long time. Then what if I say yes now?"

Cameron took a deep breath. He tried to calm himself first. "Who knows you are indeed an alien. Besides, I know this is what everyone wants, but when you suddenly say yes, it feels a little weird. Siegfried Lowells, won't give up easily just because of a threat."

"How do you know if I'm threatened, eh?"

Cameron smirked. "Your mother told mom. Well, you know, there were never any secrets between the Lowells family."

Siegfried hissed again. "That's what I hate about my own family. It's back to work. By the way, did you get a bill from Blaze Schift? Regarding the treatment of the wound?"

"Ah!! You happen to be talking about it. He didn't send any bills. Looks like he's treating the wound himself. Is that okay? Yesterday's wound was quite severe. If it's not treated, it will get infected right?" asked Cameron.

Siegfried shrugged. "Just confirm with the person concerned. At the same time, you can ask about the preparations for the first trial later."

"Me?!"

"Of course, you are, Cameron Carter."

Kevin took a deep breath and watched Jacel who was busy picking meat. Kevin really doesn't like shopping events like this. But he wonders why he obeyed so much when the girl said that they had to go to the supermarket to buy meat. Oh wait, maybe because Kevin couldn't help but look at her expression? Or because he really liked the young woman.

Hell, whatever.

Kevin took out his phone and plugged in his earphones. At least he can keep himself busy with music. Every now and then Kevin noticed the supermarket which was not so crowded. Maybe because today's temperature is quite cold, so people are lazy to go out of the house. Yes, maybe Kevin should have slept at home after he was busy finishing his latest painting.

"Kevin..."

Kevin turned his head when Jacel patted his arm. He took off one earphone. "Why?"

The girl took a deep breath and showed the bag filled with meat. "I'm done. Let's go home, or do you want to buy something else?"

Kevin shook his head. "Let's just go home."

Jacel nodded and walked towards the cashier. Kevin followed her. The atmosphere between them was still awkward, especially with the kiss yesterday. Kevin didn't say anything about it. Likewise, with Jacel. So, Kevin thought that she didn't really mind the kiss. It's just that Kevin really wanted to kiss her. Again.

But it felt like it was impossible.

Jacel let out a short breath and tried to shift a little. After returning from the supermarket, they decided to take the bus instead. Even though Kevin was actually a little pushy to take a taxi. But she is more insistent that they have to be more frugal. In the end, it was Kevin who relented.

However, the current condition of the bus cannot be said to be quiet. Jacel begins to regret not following Kevin's advice. But they're half way there. She clung to one of the handles tightly.

On the other hand, Kevin, who was standing beside Jacel, watched the young woman. The girl's body is very small – not small for her age. Kevin sighed as Jacel grew uncomfortable.

With a quick movement, Kevin pulled her body in front of him and Kevin made enough room for her. Suddenly Jacel was surprised by Kevin's actions. She looked up at Kevin.

Kevin looked back at her and gave one of his earphones to Jacel. "Hold on for fifteen minutes, okay?" Kevin whispered.

Jacel just nodded and put the earphones in her ears. The rest of the way, she just looked down. Well, her field of vision became limited to only see Kevin's chest. She cursed herself for not following her late mother's advice to drink milk often.

She just kept staring at her shoes and Kevin's shoes. She then felt comfortable – maybe because the jazz playlist from Kevin's cellphone was playing softly, making her not really pay attention to the atmosphere on the bus anymore. In addition, the smell of Kevin's perfume wafting made her even more comfortable. While Kevin himself is controlling the turbulent emotions at this time. How not, although this is not the first time, they are close like this, but Kevin feels nervous with every breath Jacel takes.

Kevin tried to focus on the music that was playing from his earphones. But things got even more difficult when the girl then mumbled softly along with the song. Oh, has Kevin confessed that Jacel's singing voice is another most beautiful thing about Jacel Kim– his half-sister? Alright, Kevin is slowly getting used to seeing her as his half-sister even though it's hard. Because in reality, Kevin's feelings will never be reciprocated.

Kevin glanced slightly at Jacel. He could only see part of the girl's face, because the young woman was looking down more. Jacel looks so calm and comfortable around him. Well, that made a wild thought cross Kevin's mind, which he immediately countered.

Then Kevin realized that fifteen minutes had gone by so fast. The stop where they had to get off was getting closer. "Jacel, we have to go down" Kevin said.

Jacel raised her head. She stared at Kevin for a moment then nodded. She took off the earphones and tried to get to the bus door which was about to open.

*****

Mark hissed in annoyance. He repeatedly pressed the doorbell of Jacel's house, but no one answered. Maybe he should have called his friend before he came. Or maybe he should just change his phone? Ah, think about that later.

He rang the doorbell once again. Yes, he just hoped that there would be a miracle. But the house seemed to be empty.

He sighed and walked away. However, only a few steps, he smiled faintly when he saw someone he wanted to meet came. Well, along with her new sibling.

"Jacel…!!"

Jacel smiled faintly and walked a little faster to approach Mark. "Mark, what's wrong? Have you been here long? Why not call first if you want to come, eh?"

"I'm sorry, my cell phone is broken. I thought there would be no problem if I came straight away. But…" Mark glanced slightly at Kevin, who was behind Jacel. He looked back at his friend. "Where are you from? Supermarket?"

Jacel nodded. "You want to take your music book, don't you? Come in. But…" She realized that she was not alone. "Ah…! Marek, introduce yourself. This is Kevin. Kevin, this is Mark."

Mark looked at Kevin and bowed slightly. "Hi, I'm Mark."

Kevin just nodded back and walked into the house first. Mark frowned slightly at Kevin's cold attitude. Even Jacel herself didn't know what to say about Kevin's attitude. Well, Kevin doesn't usually do that.

Mark looked at his friend. "Is he really like that or… is he in a bad mood?"

Jacel shrugged his shoulders. "Usually, he doesn't. I think he's just tired. We came home with a full bus. I guess he's in a bad mood because of that. Come in."

Mark nodded and followed Jacel. At least he has met his friend's new brother. Now he just hopes that when the new semester comes, there won't be any problems.

Siegfried came out of his room while tidying up his black coat. He looked at Kier – his personal secretary. Well, there are several reasons why he should have a personal secretary – whose job is not only to be a secretary in the office, but also to be a "secretary" in his entire life. In addition, the most important thing is that the secretary must be a man. He is tired of dealing with female secretaries. Don't ask what the problem is.

"Kier, send me my latest schedule for the next week. Moreover, mom must have told you about some changes to the special meeting schedule – which you know what I mean, don't you?" said Siegfried.

Kier smiled. "Sure, sir. I'll post the schedule changes before nine o'clock tonight. Oh, about the mall? Have you received the documents?"

"Mall? I haven't checked it yet. That document should be ready by next Thursday, right? I'll finish it before Monday."

Kier nodded. "Okay. You want to go check on Legion? Because I heard the problem is even more complicated than the land dispute with Mr. Kim," The secretary said again.

This time it was Siegfried who nodded. "After that, I'll go straight home. So, for other documents, please send them via email only. Okay?"

"Noted, sir."

Siegfried smiled contentedly then walked out of the room. He walked down the hall to an elevator box. he pressed the button as he took his phone out of his jacket pocket. Message from his mom.

He took a breath and put the phone back without looking at the contents of the message. Well, even without being seen, he already knew exactly what the message contained. Then the elevator doors opened. Inside is already his cousin.

He walked in and stood next to Cameron. There was a long pause, before the man finally spoke up.

"I've already contacted him. He's been to the hospital, but he won't send the bill to our office. He said the wound wasn't serious enough," His cousin said.

"Oh."

Cameron looked at him with raised eyebrows. "Oh? Just oh?"

Siegfried looked at his cousin with a confused look. "Then what reaction should I give?"

Soon the elevator door opened and he walked out. Followed by Cameron.

"Hey, you have to treat him well. You know, Grandpa really depends on the outcome of this trial. If we lose then…"

"If we lose, then the reputation of a Blaze Schift who "says" has never lost in court will be a big question? How can he lose in a land dispute case where the winner is the Lowells Group? After all, there is nothing to do with this case and I have to treat it well, Cameron," said Siegfried.

They walked through the lobby towards the main door.

"Blaze probably won't lose. But at least treat him well. Not only as a lawyer and his client. After all, if your match with her brother goes well, you two could become brothers-in-law."

Siegfried chuckled. "But in reality, it is not. Just focus on your work, Carter. For this matter, let Lawyer Schift take care of it. And don't talk about it outside of us discussing the dispute."

"Woah, you're back to being a cold jerk. Why does it feel like you always act like this only to women who are arranged for you and Blaze?"

Siegfried looked at his cousin sharply. "What do you really want to say, Carter?"

Cameron smiled seeing his current expression. Oh, it feels so good to be bothering his cousin.

"There is none."
