CHAPTER THIRTY-NINE – MORE ENTANGLEMENT WITH UNEXPECTED SITUATION

"AHHHH!"

"What the‒?!"

All of them shouted as they heard someone speak from behind and they all looked at the direction where that voice came from.

There they saw the crimson-haired woman leaning against at the front door with arms crossed around as her crimson-lilac eyes are staring at all of them.

"S-scarlette?! J-just when…" Ryan stuttered as he is the one who recovered from the shock.

'Again?! What was this woman?! A mushroom?!'

Ryan thought as he held his chest to calm himself as his heart beats faster because of the nervousness.

Scarlette just ignored their reactions as she walked towards where Mikhael is and she didn't make an eye contact with the said boy.

Mikhael couldn't help but to blush at the sight of the woman who walks towards at his place.

'Ah! What should I do! Scarlette is making her way towards me!'

He thought as he could hear his heart that beats faster when the woman is now right in front of him.

Ryan felt irritated at the sight as he looked away to hide his annoyance.

Jeffrey didn't see Ryan's reaction as he only had his eyes on that suspicious envelop that Mikhael is holding.

'Concealment spell? Why would the sender do this and it only addressed to Mikhael? I have a bad feeling about this.' He thought.

Scarlette stops in front of Mikhael and lifts her fingers as she snapped it.

Moments later, a small crimson magic circle appeared at the top of the envelope where Mikhael is holding onto and there is a mark that appears at the center of the envelope.

After that, a burst of black energy released coming from the envelope and all of them covered their eyes because of it.

Except for Scarlette, as she looked at the envelope with cold eyes.

'Is this how you played your game? If that is the case then, I'll played along with you!'

Scarlette thought as she clench her other hand to restrain the incoming anger she was feeling right now.

Scarlette opened her eyes when she felt they have left the guest room and she only felt the maids from the corner of the hall from the outside.

She stood up and stretches herself as she felt like her whole body became numb because of the way she positioned herself on the sofa.

'Phew! Thank goodness that they have left already! My body hurts! I just hope that Zenon would convey my message to that brat.'

She thought as she takes a glance at the window to look and she saw it would be dawn in any minute.

'It would be better to finish what we need to do here once and go on with our journey. We have delayed any longer than this.'

She thought as she took a deep breath.

Scarlette looked at the closed door as she felt the familiar dark force that was coming from there and she snaps her fingers quickly.

After that, her body became invisible in an instant and her presence had hidden perfectly.

Not longer than that, the door suddenly wide open and more people went inside the guest room.

Scarlette observed these unwanted people who suddenly barged in as she take a note of their features.

Most of these people are not that young and not that old. There are swordsmen, spearmen, and archers.

But the crimson-haired woman noticed the familiar emblem on their cloaks as she observed them quietly.

A 5-bead bracelet with a dagger and a five fused petals flower.

Scarlette is familiar with this emblem. How could she forget it? Whenever she saw this emblem, it makes her sick to the core.

'One, two, three… ten people inside this room. Perfect! It seems like I would need some practice since it's been awhile that I have bathed my body in blood from these sinners!'

She thought as she snapped her fingers once again and the door immediately closed as the unwanted people inside went to look at the door that closed itself.

After the door closed, a silver-light magic circle from above appeared and it created a barrier around the room so that no one could escape or hear them from the outside.

The unwanted people looked around and stay alert in their surroundings.

"Prepare yourselves! She is within in this room!"

One of them speaks and Scarlette deduced that this person is the leader of the group.

'So troublesome'

She thought as she walked across them without noticing her and she took a seat from the sofa where she seated earlier and after that; she snapped her fingers once more.

She removed the invisibility skill from her body and makes her appearance visible to the surrounding people.

"It seems like all of you are wishing for your own deaths, are we?"

She said coldly as she crossed her arms around her and leaned against at the sofa as she closed her eyes once more.

The unwanted people around her immediately draw their own weapons and prepare themselves to fight her when Scarlette suddenly appeared in front of them.

"Scarlette Overland! We are here to eliminate you by the orders of the Higher Councils!"

One person shouted at her as he prepared to launch the first attack and he held his spear to pierce it through at Scarlette, who had her eyes closed.

Scarlette heard this as she made a move to flip her body backward to avoid the incoming attack as the spear only pierce it through to the sofa where she seated earlier.

Another person made an attack from her behind as he used his sword and made a slashing form to hit Scarlette where she stands right now.

Scarlette's eyes were still close when she felt another energy presence that would be coming at her way as she only raised her hand to sway it away and deflected the attack easily.

*BOOM!

Since there is a barrier and silencing spell around the room, no one inside the City Lord's Manor could detect what is going on here as Scarlette also cut off the magic aura that would come from here.

'I don't want those guys to know what is happening right now. I need to finish this quickly!'

She thought as she only keeps on avoiding those attacks from these unwanted people as if she was making a fun of them.

"The hell are you guys doing?! Kill her! It's just one person!"

Another person shouted and another three people positioned themselves as they took some magic arrows and launch an attack directly at Scarlette.

Scarlette bends backward to avoid the arrows as she jumped off from another angle and finally opened her eyes that glows brightly.

She punched the other person who would attack her and took its weapon as she stabbed that person from behind and she slashed and kill another person in her sight.

Blood had splattered around her body as the sword she is holding had a glint of holy flames as her crimson-lilac eyes have an electric lighting strike glow compared from earlier.

She stood up from where she was and she looked around at the remaining people inside this one hell of a room that she created.

"Now, shall we start the hunt?"

Scarlette said coldly as she grips the hilt of the sword and the holy flames from the sword became bigger compared to before.
