17 Disturbance in the Public

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN – DISTURBANCE IN THE PUBLIC

Jeffrey thought as he set aside the frustrations that he felt and followed the woman.

After some minutes had passed, Jeffrey arrived at the place as he noticed that some of the people have gathered around within the area.

His eyes roamed around to looked for the crimson-haired woman but he couldn't see her in the area of these crowded people around.

'Where is she? Also, what the heck is happening right now?'

Jeffrey thought as he keeps on going forward and after some time, he manages to see what is in front of them and he couldn't help but to raise an eyebrow at the sight he is seeing.

'Okay? Now, what is this? Someone's causing a scene?'

Jeffrey thought and since no one is going to stop them, he should do something.

As he was about to take a step forward, a sudden voice rang inside his head that made him stop before he even goes further.

[Back down, Zenon. This is a fight between adventurers and no nobles should interfere. You are on a secret mission, right? Don't show yourself that easily and there is a chance that there are nobles around in this city. Hide for now]

Jeffrey heard the familiar tone that came through his head and he looked around to find her.

Not long enough, he saw Scarlette.

The crimson-haired woman is not far away from his place but Scarlette didn't look at him. Instead, she used magic transmission to passed a message through his mind.

'Mind Telepathy?! That is a high-tier magic spell! How come Scarlette learned that spell? Wait a minute! Is she a mage as well?!'

Jeffrey thought and there is a puzzled look on his face upon discovering something about the crimson-haired woman.

'I never expected her to perform such a high-tier spell! This is the first time that I saw her wield magic in three years that I have known her.'

Jeffrey thought but he shook off his head to set aside those ideas that were swirling inside his mind.

He didn't go as per Scarlette's advice and the woman was right.

He shouldn't cause a scene here because he is in a secret mission that His Majesty the Emperor ordered him and there might be nobles around in this place so he needs to be careful.

Scarlette, on the other hand, is not far away from Jeffrey's place as the woman watches the commotion taking place in front of them.

From there she saw Ryan at the center, unsheathe his sword, and pointed at the other man in front of him.

Scarlette looked over at the other man who had a bulky appearance and a hammer on his shoulder as that man had a proud smirk written on his face as he looked down at Ryan.

When Scarlette first came here and saw the scene in front, she didn't know what to do at first.

She wants to interfere with the fight before it escalated into a huge one.

Since this is a city and many commoners are around them. There would be innocent people who would be involved.

However, she didn't step up to stop the fight but she watches silently at the sidelines since she wants to know what Ryan would do in this situation.

The other adventurer, Scarlette knew him well.

She happens to be part of his group during the subjugating missions that are being issued by the guild, and that man happens to be the party leader.

Scarlette might be the highest rank adventurer but she never oversteps her boundaries and she respects other people for their strength.

However, there are times that Scarlette didn't like the other adventurers because most of them are being way too arrogant just because of their rank status within the guild.

One of the reasons why she didn't like to create a party or taking a companion was because first of all, she didn't like to be restricted by her freedom.

And secondly, she didn't like the attitudes and personalities of every adventurer around her.

That is the reason why she had the reputation of being a cold and indifferent person.

When she first started as a lower rank adventurer, she never joins in any party and she prefers to do missions alone herself.

However, that is also a breach of rules that are set by the Adventurer's Guild, and in her time, she is being bullied or taking advantage of by the other higher rank adventurers.

From that day, she swore that time she would be stronger enough to be by herself and that is where she is right now.

She snapped on her thoughts as she looked in front and then looked at the other bulky man.

That man named Ferix had a bulky figure and an arrogant disposition as he looked down at Ryan, who is much smaller than the other.

But if Scarlette were to analyze both of them, she would be rooting for Ryan.

Ryan might be somewhat reckless when it comes to his swordsmanship but seeing him right now, the man had a clear and calm disposition as he draws his sword and pointed at Ferix.

Ferix, while the other man had a smirk on his face but he had an aggressive aura that he is emitting and Scarlette frown because of this.

'That aura he is emitting…couldn't be…?'

She thought as she looked at Ryan to see if he is all right and she saw how Ryan still manage to remain calm in this situation.

'He even manages to restrain the anger that he is feeling right now, based on his aura. I bet from earlier they have fought hard enough and this might be another round of their fight'

Seeing Ryan clear his thoughts makes the crimson-haired woman wonder herself.

What would his master think? Scarlette knew that both gentlemen are hot-tempered youths back then and now, it seems that Ryan had matured a little bit compared to before.

Scarlette remembers the sword form that Ryan is trying to re-create back in the forest where they stayed that night.

She shook off her head that time because of what he is doing and she snapped herself back once again as she looked at the fight presented in front.

'Show me what you got, Ryan. Let me see how far are you going at your disguise'
