1 Prologue

Someone else. "Well, I can't help babysit. I have my own children to deal with." "I'm going out of town, so maybe some else can watch her." "I can't do this. It has to be someone else." All of these excuses just so that you don't have to take responsibility.

"I don't want to keep living with you and that child. Find someone else." Dad said as he walked away. Mom was devastated. All she had left was me.

Meow...

I turn my head to see a black kitten alone in an alley. It meowed at me. "Are you all alone?" I asked it, expecting an answer. No collar or name tag. It's a stray. I think about mom: well, she loves cats and is almost never home. I could take care of it. I mean... someone has to. I crouched down in front of the kitten. "You don't have to be alone now." I then picked up the cat and carried it home.

I set the kitten down on my couch and put a little bow tie with a bell around it's neck. Hmm... what should I name it? I glance at the cat's black coat. "How about I name you Ash?" Then the cat named Ash entered my life or... at least that's what I thought he was.
