Kai cleared his throat abruptly as an excuse to take the heat off himself as he narrowly avoided rolling his eyes. It would be nice in some instances to not have to pretend like his actual emotions would not give him his goal. Vasko was careless to the point of being actually ridiculous. The bartering was starting to get to the tedious aspect as he really had nothing more to budge on. Kai had already been forming a plan in his mind on how to deconstruct the disgusting thing to get to the actual previous that his contemporary was holding.

Truthfully if Vasko couldn't tell the worth of what he was holding, the man really should not be buying his own electronics without the sound advice of a close friend. The poor man didn't really know enough to call himself a collector. If Kai looked up he could easily discount that around the room they were sitting in, inside the safe that Vasko had just showed him, those were not limited edition PlayStation 17s. Those things were not even in existence yet and the poor lamb was showing it off like it really was the holy grail.

It wasn't. There was nothing valuable here. It was semi-like a thrift store in and of itself as under all the clutter was where the gems were.

Kai poked the edge of where the paint has started to fray away, he was glad that he could still smell the slight smell of the original casing as this meant that the machine had managed to avoid the interest of its owner in actually using it. If he could find the original box, he would be absolutely ecstatic as that would be a true value that would be added.

As Vasko put the modified PlayStation back into its original box, Kai almost died on the spot. He had to really concentrate to keep his eye on the bigger matter here as Vasko spoke with some confusion at why Kai was looking the way he was. "I mean I understand that you want it and all but can you cut me a deal at the bare minimum. You should cut my losses, I know that because the guy that I originally bought this from told me that I got a really amazing deal."

"Five hundred dollars is a really amazing deal." Kai tried to keep his voice from betraying his want.

"No bro, that's not enough. You know I just got engaged to my girl. I need more. Marry means the girl expects the standard of living to go up. I got to get some real nice stuff now."

Kai remembered that he had seen the post while scrolling on Instagram–the photograph was burned in his mind as his memory was just that–photographic. He wished that he could wash his brain with acid at times like this, but there it floated up to the forefront of his consciousness.
