“That guy is checking you out.” Kayla whispered. Simon didn’t need to ask who she was talking about. He had also noticed the blond police officer. The man was in the coffee shop every day, during Simon’s shift. He never said anything flirty or inappropriate but Simon knew the man was interested in him.

Just as he was interested in the man.

He said his name was Jon Rhodes and he just moved to Indiana. He was tall, taller than Simon, blond with icy blue eyes. He looked like an ice god. Needless to say he was exactly Simon’s type.

“Don’t stare!” Simon hissed. “He’ll think we’re talking about him.”

“Too late.” Kayla squeaked. “He’s coming this way.”

The sound of a throat clearing had Simon turning. At the counter was his police officer. “H-Hi.” Simon said, giddy. “What can I do for you?”

“You could give me your number.” Jon said. “And you can go on a date with me.”
