13 Chapter 13: The Addiction of Fitness

"Huff~"

Samui took a deep breath, her hands gripping the barbell tightly. She slowly bent her knees until her thighs were parallel to the ground, then stood up straight, powered by the contraction of her quadriceps.

She held the peak contraction for two seconds.

A standard barbell squat, just like that, was completed.

During this process, Dan squatted and stood in sync with Samui, ready to assist if needed.

A 500-kilogram squat.

In Dan's previous world, this number would have broken world records.

But in this world of Naruto, where the average person has 130 trillion cells, this level of strength wasn't particularly astonishing.

In Dan's memory, there was a woman named Tsunade who could even swing the "short blade" that weighed several tons from the toad Gamabunta. Her strength was simply incredible.

One time, two times, three times...

Samui maintained a steady rhythm, squatting and standing repeatedly.

"Try to rely on your body's own strength as much as possible, don't cheat with chakra," Dan reminded her.

Gradually, Samui began to falter. Her leg muscles trembled, and her body's stability decreased.

On the last rep, she squatted down and couldn't stand up after two seconds. Her expression turned painful, and it looked like she was about to fail, crushed by the heavy barbell.

At that moment, Dan's hands wrapped around the outer edges of Samui's ribcage, helping her keep her torso straight and assisting her in completing the final squat.

"Thud."

Samui, relieved, returned the barbell to the squat rack, panting heavily.

"You're improving. But remember not to push yourself too hard in the future, you could get hurt," Dan said, his gaze serious as he warned Samui not to overdo it in her training.

"I'm sorry, Dan, I won't do it again," Samui apologized, brushing back her sweat-soaked blonde hair, her face flushed.

During their training, physical contact like what just happened was inevitable, and it was in areas where girls were more sensitive, making Samui a bit shy.

Today, she wore a white, tight-fitting workout T-shirt paired with pink yoga pants, perfectly highlighting her impressive body curves.

"Congratulations, your figure is getting better and better," Dan commented on Samui's physique with a professional eye.

Her figure was voluptuous yet powerful. In four words, it was —

Curvy but not fat.

This was the pinnacle of the slightly chubby world.

"Thank you, Dan," Samui said, pleased with Dan's praise. A sense of accomplishment welled up inside her.

She finally understood why the Fourth Raikage was so obsessed with fitness, never forgetting to lift weights and sculpt his muscles anytime, anywhere.

It turned out that fitness really was addictive.

Seeing that Samui had rested enough, Dan handed her a resistance band and instructed, "Last set of exercises, kneeling side leg raises, to enhance your glute lines."

Upon hearing this, Samui skillfully strapped on the resistance band, knelt on the yoga mat with her palms on the ground, and naturally raised her buttocks.

The training began.

"Make sure to keep your back straight, and the movements must be standard. Have you seen how a dog pees?" Dan sat on a nearby dumbbell bench, giving pointers.

"Yes," Samui replied, trying to imagine herself as a peeing dog and imitating the posture. Indeed, she quickly found the feeling of muscle exertion.

While the master and apprentice were training enthusiastically, a cold voice came from the entrance, "Excuse me, did

I come at a bad time?" It was Uchiha Inohi.

He walked into the gym, seeing the two of them working out, his brows furrowed slightly.

"You keep going, don't stop," Dan said to Samui, then stood up and walked over to Inohi, "What brings you here?"

He thought the spy incident was over.

"Don't be nervous, I'm not here on behalf of the police department today, but as a regular Uchiha, to invite you," Inohi didn't beat around the bush, "Hachidai-sama sent me to invite you back to the clan."

Oh?

Dan was somewhat surprised.

Hachidai.

He had heard of this name. He was said to be the second-in-command of the police force, and his power and prestige within the clan were second only to the clan leader, Fugaku.

At the same time, this man was also the leader of the Uchiha's radical faction.

Did Hachidai want to meet him because... he saw his strength and intended to win him over?

"I heard that you've always been dissatisfied with your sister marrying clan leader Fugaku, so you moved out of the clan in anger. In fact, you're not the only one who's dissatisfied with the clan leader. Dan, for your and your sister's future happiness, I advise you to come with me," Inohi said, giving a heartfelt suggestion.

If Dan still refused, he wouldn't insist.

After all.

He couldn't beat Dan.

Facing Inohi's invitation, Dan didn't think for too long before giving a concise response: "Okay."

He had anticipated that someone would come to him, he just didn't know whether the moderates or the radicals of the clan would come first.

To be honest.

As a transmigrator, not a native Uchiha, Dan didn't care much about the survival of the Uchiha clan.

At least for now.

He didn't have the idea of saving the Uchiha clan.

However.

Dan did want to see for himself how the Uchihas, these guys, ended up destroying themselves.

The Kaguya clan of Kirigakure also rebelled, but at least they were united as a clan, and in the end, they were exterminated by the collective power of the village, which was quite spectacular.

But the prestigious Uchiha, the first wealthy family of Konoha, was wiped out by their own people without even making a splash.

It was truly a failure.

Thinking of this.

Dan turned to Samui and said, "That's enough training for today, I have to go out for a bit. Don't forget, stretching after training is also important."

"Okay."

Samui stood up, bowed slightly, and watched as Dan and Inohi left.

Her ears were sharp, and she heard every word of the conversation between the two men, analyzing that Uchiha Inohi was delivering a message for the opposition within the clan.

They wanted Uchiha Dan to join their camp, to betray Uchiha Fugaku as the brother-in-law of the clan leader.

How would Dan respond?

Did his prompt acceptance of the invitation mean he had made up his mind to join the opposition?

Samui stroked her chin with the thumb and index finger of her right hand, lost in thought.

Regardless.

The affairs of the Uchiha clan seemed to be getting more and more interesting.

Half an hour later.

Dan followed Inohi back to the long-lost clan land. They wound their way to a grand mansion, and entered.

Creak.

As the two of them entered the courtyard one after the other, and the

door closed behind them, a figure appeared under the cherry blossom tree at the nearby street corner.

It was a man with a poker face, exuding an aura of authority.

Uchiha Fugaku.

"As expected, Hachidai and his group have plans for Dan, intending to pull him over," the Uchiha clan leader murmured.

He hadn't approached Dan before Inohi and the others because he wanted to know if Dan truly despised him, his brother-in-law.

If Dan was determined to oppose him and joined the radical faction without hesitation, then Fugaku had nothing more to say to his brother-in-law.

Only disappointment remained.
