The little boy watched on as he left the small town. He nervously picked at his fingers as he sat in a corner scared. The people on the cart didn't speak and there was an inexplicable gloom hanging over their heads like they had accepted their fates.
The cart became crammed even more as the slave merchants made several stops to buy more slaves. Finally, they entered the Bi family territory where they were all offloaded like livestock.
They were kept inside a horse stable for a while and through the night the little ger curled up covered in hay for warmth. He was passed out cold that he didn't hear the other captives get up to run away.
When he woke up the next day he was alone. None of them had bothered to wake him up. Maybe it was because he was a child and he would only slow them down.
