1 Chapter 1: Back to the beginning

Zeno had loved Anna since he was 12 years old when he first saw her playing with his cousin Christian, she was so lovey in her pink fluffy frock with rabbit ear hairband, her cute little nose and her brown hair flying against the wind, her puffy cheeks while she was complaining about something to Christian , and her big golden eyes that were like liquid gold everything put together , Zeno could never turn back once he fell for this lovey maiden.

'Present day'

Zeno had followed Anna's car when he heard her crying on the phone trying to convince Christian that she didn't do anything , that everything that he was talking about was nonsense because she was at home that entire time. Zeno had known something was going on between them that Christian believed that Anna had cheated on him with her school friend Tim . As Zeno was thinking about all of this Anna left the cafe in her Maserati Granturismo. Zeno decided to follow her because he was worried about her.

They both arrived at the Heaven cliff , named because the view was heavenly as it was always surrounded by clouds. There Zeno saw Anna getting out of the car and heading towards the couple that was standing near the edge. Zeno recognized who that was, that was his cousin Christian and his university friend Nana , they both held each others hand trying to mock Anna . Anna was standing several feet away from them while Zeno was hiding behind a nearby Cherry Blossom tree.

Zeno heard them arguing not able to hear them clearly , and then suddenly Christian took out a M9 gun, and pointed it towards Anna.

Zeno's mind went blank and he subconsciously ran towards Anna trying to protect her , and in that moment he was shot through his heart, his eyes went wide as he looked at Christian. He heard everyone calling his name but his mind was blank as he closed his eyes and everything went blank.

Zeno had been walking the dark path for who knows how long without stopping.He was tired and ready to stop but this time around he heard someone calling his name anxiously. "Zeno!"

"ZENO!!"

Somebody was calling him , screaming his name and shaking him entirely. suddenly he saw a light and he started running towards it, he ran and ran and finally reached it and opened his eyes.

He was looking at a clear sunny sky with Autumn leaves flying by. Then he saw the source which was calling his name. Christian was looking at Zeno with teary eyes , except it was the baby version of Christian around 10 years old. Zeno was stupefied as he stared wide eyed at the smaller version of Christian. He abruptly stood up and looked at his hands and feet, he touched his face and realized that he was also a smaller version of himself. Then the memories hit him like crazy one thing after another , and the last thing he saw before he died .

Christian was looking at him worriedly all this time , finally he said," Thank god you are okay, when i saw you fall from the tree when i tried to scare you i thought you were dead, but you are fine so it's okay i guess." Christian laughed trying to stifle the dark atmosphere around Zeno.

After hearing Christian's words Zeno realized where and 'when' he was.

He was at Christian's house , this incident happened 2 days before Zeno saw Anna for the first time, he had fallen from the Maple tree when Christian had scared him and he had hurt his head severely but had escaped death somehow.

Realizing that life has given him a chance to redo things again , Zeno thought to himself that he will not let tragedy happen again. Even if Anna still loved Christian in this life as well he will stay close to her and protect her to the best of his ability.
