12 the start

Baby Gia seemed to frown in her sleep due to the movements. She slowly opened her hazel eyes. "Mmm aaa" she said, seeing Anne. Just when Anne saw her daughter awake and calling her she felt her heart somewhat at ease. "Darling.. You are finally up." Holding Gia close to her chest, hugging her tightly, her eyes got teary. "You know how scared your Momma was when you were sleeping. Let me check your temperature." It's pretty obvious that an eight month old baby cannot understand all that Anne said.

Anne felt Baby Gia's temperature with the back of her hand and found it to be more than average. She held Gia in her arms and said, "darling, you will feel good very soon. You will be fine. Momma won't leave you alone now. Momma would take you to her office and Momma would be with you all the time."

She then hugged her closely. Gia was the reason she lives. She lost all hopes when her ex-husband repeatedly cheated on her, but Gia gave her the reason to smile. The reason to live, the reason to believe in love, faith and trust.

The night passed with Anne awake. Gia woke up in the middle of the night but Anne made her sleep. Anne couldn't bear to fall asleep even for a moment, for she was scared that Gia would wake up and she might fail to notice whether she was experiencing some discomfort.

It was dawn when Gia slept soundly for two hours. Seeing this, Anne rushed to the washroom and got ready in 10 minutes. She slowly shifted Gia from bed to her purple stroller. And moved to the kitchen. The entire process took 15 minutes because she was afraid to awake Gia.

She made an egg omelet, a glass of boiled milk and cut an apple. Tadaa! Her breakfast was ready. She arranged her breakfast on the dining table and took Gia with her. She opened her laptop and e-mailed her fitness class students that she won't be taking a class today so students must volunteer and not skip a day of exercise. And then to her senior informing him that she won't be taking classes for the time being and that she is resigning. She sent an e-mail to the executives at 'The Ninja' informing them she would work from home now on. She then went through some of her work from her own office 'The Writing Space'.

As she was going through an email she heard.. "Mmm aaa". "Gia.. you're awake. My darling. Good morning my love." she went to hold Gia in her arms and found her nappy was wet. "Uh ohhh… uncomfortable down there. Give momma a minute and .. it will be niceeee…." she then bent down and from the trolley beneath the stroller she took out a nappy and changed it for baby Gia. Now Baby Gia was all comfortable and happy.

Anne cleaned herself up and then felt for Gia's temperature. Her temperature was normal now. She felt relief and let out a sigh. "Gia now let's go to Momma's office.. Are you excited to meet people there? There are plenty of toys in my office.. Your favourite pink teddy is there.." talking to Gia she went and packed her office bag. She changed Gia's clothes. And then a pair of Momma and daughter left the house.

Anne wore a plain white tee and tucked it in her black pants. Her hair was made in a messy bun. Her eyes were covered behind her black rimmed glasses. Her mobile phone in a pocket and office bag in her right hand, the left one holding Gia's stroller.

She was waiting for the lift and this is when her neighbour Mr. Peter ran into the pair of mother and daughter. "Hello Ms. Anne." bending down towards Gia, "Good morning baby girl. How do you do?" Anne smiled, "Hello Mr. Peter. And Baby Gia is fine." This is when Gia smiled and said, "unckoo" pouting her lips and smiling at him. Peter's heart melted at that sight.

Peter is a private detective. He met Anne when she was seven months pregnant and came to him to investigate her husband. His heart bled for Anne when he heard that her husband was cheating on her. Anne filed for a divorce and her lawyer suggested that she meet Mr. Peter and get more evidence so that her husband won't be able to turn the case against them. And with the evidence she can go to the police and get him behind the bars.

She got a divorce two days before her delivery. She had Janet, Kathy and Mr. Peter by her side when she went for her operation. Gia is a breech position baby and thus had to go for the operation. Peter saw Anne grow from being dependent emotionally on her husband, to being independent and now flying high in the skies achieving more than what others can do in their entire lifetimes.

Peter investigated Stephen and found out that Stephen was cheating on Anne for a long time. It has been years. He found out all the dirty tricks he used in business. He found his filthy lifestyle. His heart hurt when he thought of Anne. When he got all the information for her, she did not go to the police. She didn't want her daughter's father to be in jail. She kept her daughter above everything.
