4 comforts herself with lies..

TWELVE YEARS BEFORE

With tears in her eyes and a broken heart and she decided never to give love a chance in her life. Clutching the pillow and gritting her teeth she promised herself that this is the last time she'll cry for a jerk like him. Though he is the most wanted guy and many girls dream to be with him, all he did was to use her emotions for his own benefits. Annelies Brown, 19, a girl known for her aloof and cold personality yet a loving person to her close friends. She could go to any extent to bring a smile on their faces. Two years back in an unexpected encounter she met the person she thought was the love of her life. 

Stephen Wilson, 22, a guy with a jovial personality. One smile he flashes.. ahhaa>>>  and you could hear shrieks from girls (girls shriek in their minds they dare not make a sound in front of him). Girls blush seeing him and they feel their heart fluttering because of him.  Ahh! The topper of the City University, a breadwinner, approachable and sweet-talker. Not to mention a very loyal person when it comes to relationships. The Dream guy of every girl was committed in a "relationship" which was a secret to the world. He never told he was in a relationship because he could never accept a cold and aloof girl as his girlfriend in front of the world. He wanted his girlfriend to be docile and listen to everything he says without questioning. (why not get a robot who will listen to his commands than play with human emotions)

Stephen Wilson met Annelies Brown two years back when he suffered a heartbreak and was out there taking his revenge on each girl by toying with their emotions. Annelies was one of his playtoy. Anne's pure soul and sincere efforts in the relationship melted his heart and he decided to never let go of Anne. He confessed to Anne about his past and proposed to her again and promised her that he won't hurt her again. The irony is that ever since Anne forgave him and accepted him whole-heartedly, he stopped cherishing her and forgot of her to be a human with emotions. He could only see the problems he has and all the troubles of his life while neglecting Anne completely. Anne never shared her problems with him and endured everything in silence. Anne always tried to be strong whenever she spoke to him, in order to distract her mind, she got involved in as many activities as she could. Soon Stephen started to find Anne boring cause she only shared good things happening to her, spoke to him about her college and many activities she undertook and others but not her problems. Stephen soon felt his male-ego hurting because he couldn't be someone who had to save Anne from any problems. He could never complain about Anne being arrogant and throwing tantrums, he found Anne too boring to deal with. He never realised that he was the one for whom Anne gave up on her wishes and desires. He never realised how he hurt Anne by never asking her if she had some problems, he never realised how much she devoted herself to him and helped him in every possible way. All of a sudden Anne stopped texting him, contacting him, the irony here, he thought Anne was out hanging with her friends not caring about him and thus he never texted her to check up on her for her sudden absence. After one whole week when Anne texted him to ask how he was, he started to crib about how much work of his was piled up and Anne didn't help him. 

He completely forgot that it was her birthday on 8 January and she requested him to spend one hour with her as a gift. She told him that she'd remind him for the date but he said holding her waist with one hand and caressing her lips with his thumb, "Baby you think I'd forget your birthday.. I am stressed out and I accept it but I won't forget your birthday ever. I have planned something special for you, too bad you reminded me of your birthday.. .I wanted to surprise you with it.. But since you know that I remember your birthday and I am planning something.. Why don't you tell me yourself what gift you want..? Afterall you have no favourite things and no worries in life?" Anne was taken aback. The man she loves for one year doesn't even know the choosy personality she has and the struggles she faced everyday. Forcing a smile she said, "okay.. I'll wait for you at 5 p.m. in Hyatt Regency, the same corner table on the rooftop. I won't remind you just as you said." He inched closed and whispered in her ears, "you'll remember this birthday for your lifetime." Her mind went blank at the thought of getting the first gift from her boyfriend after one year of relationship. She felt excited and giddy and started to look forward for her birthday. It was true that she will remember this birthday for her lifetime not because of something pleasant but because of something .... (umm let's not talk of heartbreaking moments Please?). The man she was waiting to call her at 12:00 a.m. to wish her birthday was texting his best friend on how boring his girlfriend is to never ask him for anything and never did she understand his problems. He had a complaint with everything she did for him, if she texted him to remind him to eat food he'd say he has eaten long back and doesn't need someone to remind him such trivial things and if she didn't text him, he'd crib about how useless and neglecting she was in their relationship. He used to speak two-sidedly. Busy with his work and studies while flirting with the girls of his college, he completely forgot that Anne hasn't texted him for a long while. To him she was only a person who'd do his extra work without asking for anything but to meet for an hour. To him she was just a girl crazy for him to do everything he said, and also had a misconception that she's the most jobless girl. What he didn't know was that she pulled all- nighters to help him with his work, compromising heavily on her health. 

Arghhh!!!!!! it's tiring to describe all this. But not one but two consecutive years he forgot everything about her and never apologised. Even though Anne was hurt and aggrieved she kept on assuring herself that he loved her but he was just too busy and stressed out and so he forgot about things. She knows she is being used, she knows he doesn't love her but she comforts herself with these lies. Her love was unrequited and she knew it. Until recently in an accident, she has an eye-opener.
