The pain is overwhelming

Love is an incredibly powerful emotion. When you're in love, you always want to be together, and when you're not, you're thinking about being together because you need that person and without them your life is incomplete. At least that's what Milani always believed.

A petite, beautiful woman with an incredible amount of pitch black hair entered the dark room where her long silk dress dragged on the wooden floor. She took a long time settling into her place as she stared into the empty space. She lifted the hair off her neck and sighed as she glanced at her watch and swallowed before throwing away her leftover dinner. Her beautiful, altruistic spirit beams out like a sparkling star in the night of a shady and savage age.

Today they were supposed to celebrate the anniversary of their wedding. She noticed the nearly empty bottle of Scotch for the first time since she got back from the bathroom. Had he drank all that before he left for work she thought? Milani couldn't remember a thing ever since she passed out a few hours ago. Her shielded eyes gazed onto the partially empty bottle opposite her. He's drinking again, Sighing deeply, Milani jogged back up the stairs to her bathroom bending her head over as she vomited all the food she ate.

She hesitated at the head of the stairs, sorrow by the knowledge that her husband was incapable of mercy towards his own wife. She'd long since forgiven him for cheating on her several time but, he still chooses to continue. Milani couldn't believe that her own step family accused her of cheating on Caesar, supposedly her family believed that she couldn't possibly be staying with a cheating man unless she was doing the same. Which made her furious at the thought that her family had little trust in her. Milani walked into her bathroom and showered changing into her nightgown. But Caesar was still nowhere to be seen when she crawled into bed.

Milani recalled the very first moment she declared her love for her husband. It was a sunny morning and by seven o'clock it was already hot. When she opened her eyes the sun was directly overhead, next to her laid her wonderful boyfriend at the time. "I love you," she whispered, chewing her lip. The following flashback she relived was the moment her husband told her he loved her back.

The sensation she reserved for him at no time dissolved, rather it flourished vigorously day and night. Expressing those three words to the love of her life during that time, caused her to feel utterly complete. Looking back on her memories, Milani was trying not to blush when she pictured the moment that changed her life.

Milani was listening downstairs, and when she knew that she could hear the mansion gates opening, she stripped off her night-gown and then grabbed her lingerie quickly sliding them on. Frowning, she went to the kitchen, worried that Caesar's hadn't dog found his way home from his friend's house up the street. She looked up at the front door visibly opening and her expression of sleepy indifference suddenly changed to one of delighted excitement.

The door stood open and the table with their anniversary dinner stood in the front room, with two chairs drawn up to it. Caesar's eyes met her at the door, His gaze went to the wine glass, which she held in her hands. "What's all this mess," he said, leveling a glare on her. The hair on the back of her neck bristled and a shiver streamed downwards her spine.

Milani's smile was wry as she gazed up at his face. "Babe, how could you forget that it's our three-year anniversary," Milani purred. "No I didn't remember, why are you half-naked were you entertaining somebody else?" Caesar answered with a sneer that was almost frightening.

She jumped at his low, spiteful voice, as her heart raced. "What are you talking about?" she asked in a perplexed tone. His expression transformed slowly from anger to venomous. Caesar narrowed his eyes and yelled, "Get out of my fucking house!" He stared down at her, as Milani sank to the ground, too shocked to register what to do next.

He tossed the glass of wine Milani offered him aside and stomped into the hallway, where he viciously shattered pictures on top of pictures.

Tears burned her eyes and her lower lip trembled. The tears she tried to slouch back relentlessly trickle down her cheeks, her sobs got worse barely allowing a breath to be drawn. She leaned her head back and examined him, wiping the tears from her cheeks.

The tears streamed down her face as screamed for her husband to face her. "No, please don't break those!" Milani shouted as Caesar stopped next to her most priceless item. Her heartbreak was in her voice, and he squeezed the item closer to him before he brutally threw it across the wall.

Milani ran over to the wall, stepping over the shards of her most prized item, she dropped with a gasp as pain slammed through her knees. Why she thought why the fuck would he break their vase.

Her stomach tied in knots, and she clutched her knees to her chest, bursting into tears as the memories of their first date came to her mind.

"What the fuck? Why would you want to do that?" She sat with her head down for a moment picking up all the broken pieces then began to weep softly. "Why not?" he said acidly. "Perhaps, you forgot how precious this vase was to both of us" coldly and furiously retaliated, Milani directing her pissed off scowl at her fuming husband.

"You're nothing but a common whore," he shouted, throwing another picture of the two into the ground. "Excuse me, Caesar," she exclaimed rising from the floor.

She walked slowly back in front of her husband. He expected her to push him away and slap him, and he was prepared to catch her hand and demand for her to beg him to not file a case but, instead small arms embraced him and their lips met with a warm welcome.

A slow forced smile worked its way across her face and into her eyes. "It's okay, I know you've been drinking and probably had a bad day at work, let's just forget this ever happened and go to bed, I'm tired." She whispered.

Grabbing her hands, he pushed her back on the wall and held her down. "I want you out of my house before tomorrow morning and I want a divorce, I can't stand to look at your cheating ass." Milani spit on his face and snarled, "I'd happily die than let you call me a cheater when you've cheated on me for years. Caesar looked at Milani shocked. "Yeah I know about your secret lovers."

She stomped on his foot and began walking up the stairs before reaching the top she turned around and shouted out at him. She wasn't about to deal with his shit and for him to call her a whore and a cheater was the last straw for her.

"How could I cheat on you when you're the only person that I've ever loved, I have no friends who would I cheat on you with, I have no lovers. Shit I barely even leave the fucking house because I'm too busy supporting your dreams and not following my own." Once she got into her room she took off the lingerie and there she changed into jeans, a T-shirt and sneakers.

The door was thrown open, and Caesar glared at his crying mess of a wife with the look of a hundred angry men, all ready to pounce on a small target. "Who the fuck do you think you're talking to huh!" Milani found herself hurrying around him out the room to the bathroom at his low growl and suspected he was someone who could kill with his glares.

"Get out of my way I'm going to your brother's house for the night until you calm down," Her arms crossed, and though she tried to smile at her husband, Milani could feel her heart shattering second by second as she stared back at the man towering over her.

"You think you can leave me before I finish talking? Here's something else for you," he said roughly, and tossed a stack of papers in her arms. Milani stared open-eyed at him, unable to believe her eyes. She began to stutter the first word at the top of the paper before she was able to control her nerves. Leaving the bathroom she walked closer to her husband who was standing dangerously close to the top of the stairs.

"You seriously want a divorce? What for exactly? I didn't do anything to you, I'll do better, I'll be a better wife please I love you to death please don't just throw me away after all these years Caesar. After I've stayed with you through all your cheating scandals. I have nowhere to go, you know I have no blood family." As she cried harder she felt her self having another one of her panic attacks. It all happened so fast that she didn't have time to process, only to cling to the one safe thing she could find, and that was Caesar.

"Get your filthy hands from me, I was willing to change just for you because I love you, but I guess you couldn't keep your legs closed." Caesar indeed became so disgusted with his wife that he pushed her off his body causing her to stagger back. She screamed, reaching for her husband to catch her, but, it was too late, she was falling down the stairs.

Her eyes slammed shut, waiting for the impact of the fall sucking herself into a deeper place to cope. And then all she could feel was a wave of pain shooting it's way throughout her entire body. Milani laid on the ground, her body twisted in an unnatural position, her skin pale and mouth dry. She could feel a liquid pouring from around her, desperately she struggled to move her hand to reach her head and fine the main source of the liquid.

Milani had held her hand to the back of her head, then pulled it back to her eyes. Tearing up, she saw the liquid indeed was her blood. Panicking she landed her hand back on the gash, but no matter the pressure she applied the blood had still gushed between her fingers and oozed under her body. Those moments she spent pleading with him to look at her, to stay with her, to come save her, feeling the very life in her eyes drain away, a few seconds later she felt nothing at all.

She continued to look up at her husbands back as he began to fade away, slowly her body shut down completely.
