Ernest Watani crouched down in the car seat, thinking how rare were occasions when his small frame had been of service to him. It had first been a source of teasing from his classmates as a boy, then growing up it just made him unnoticeable, he'd always had to work hard to bring attention to himself, no matter how remarkable his achievements were, it always ended up being overlooked. now crouching down he considered smugly how convenient it turned out to be. He saw Sarah walking Elias and that Lawyer out of the building a stiff expression on her face. she must have recieved the news by now, and made the necessary arrangements to take over his duties for the time being.

He needed to speak to her, but approaching her right now would only ruin what he's been trying to do all this time. She will understand, after all it's not like there aren't enough evidence to point to her pursuer. Sooner or later, they'll find out his identity. But, hopefully, nothing will happen to his lab and workers before that. After all, they were all the labor of years of training and research, they were his ticket to the World's Botanic Encyclopedia, and them being hurt will only delay his moment of glory.

He looked as Elias Turned to leave then turned back and grabbed Sarah's arm putting his face close to hers, he saw the panic in her expression then the slight softening of her gaze as he whispered something in her ear. then letting go of each other reluctantly, she watched him walk away toward the fancy car where the lawyer waited.

"you still have a soft spot for him" he said clicking his tongue in disgust " and that might as well be our downfall " he'd warned her every time about that young professor, but she was the kind that didn't learn until she got hit in the head. He failed to comprehend how such a bright researcher could be stupid about something so obvious. Did love really turn people into brainless starry eyed creatures?

This question trailed in his head as the image of his wife's cold eyes come to him, they looked nothing like the eyes of the young student full of curiosity and life all those years ago. A pang of some long forgotten emotions rose up within him, only to die down as soon as they came, was it remorse? or just plain annoyance? Either way, it was gone now, and he didn't have the time or luxury to think about it. Because this is for the greater good, Eva was the one who couldn't keep up with his passion, he tried to convince himself, this is the only way to stop that person from ruining everything he'd worked for.

Just as he rose from his hiding spot, he spotted 'him' peeking through the windshield of another car,

'Speak of the devil,' he thought to himself.

As soon as the Lawyer's luxury car left the lot, he left his parking spot following after it. the professor sat there for a moment considering his next move, he still had sometime before Sarah could leave the lab. backing out of his parking spot, he drove his car after the black undistinguished sedan.
