It's been about 9-10 years and the Sininens still live in the palace. The back was demolished and it seems like nothing changed.

On the bed in the corner of the room sits a girl with long light blonde hair, wearing a blue tank and shorts. She stares out the window and admires the view. Only to lay on the bed with her head hanging low against the floor.

"It's only been a week since I been here, and after tonight, I have to leave?"

In the same room, there is a girl about 19 years old with dirty blonde- light brown loosely curled hair. She wears a silver zip-up with jeans, she is skinny, but a little curvy.

"Yes, because of reasons, I don't want to bring it up to you Moon."

Moon gets up from the bed and walks towards the girl

"Serena, as much as I love the house in Saint-Gaudens, I really love here in Salies-du-Salit."

"I know you love it, but you're leaving tomorrow. We're only here because we're celebrating your 17th birthday. Your mom and dad made these rules."

"Mom and dad this, mom and dad that, if they care about me, why don't they visit me?"

"Because they're scared."

Moon sits down on a chair near her. Her bangs swooped to the left side get in her face, she blows on it.

"Besides, you have to get ready for tonight. As you wanted, a masquerade ball."

Serena leaves the room for a second. She comes back with a bag filled with what seems like a dress.

"Your mom picked this dress out for you, I think you would like it."

Serena removed the dress from the bag. It was a long sleeved with a weird skirt. It also came with a hat. What an ugly dress.

"What the hell is that?"

Serena looked like she held back something. For some reason, Moon's mother hates Moon.

"But, close your eyes, I have a surprise for you."

"What is it?"

",........yes."

Serena tipped toed away and ran down to the second floor. She came back a minute later with a mannequin with a ball gown.

"Open."

Moon opened her eyes and started to cry. The ball gown was a strapless, sweetheart neckline, light blue and the skirt flowed like the water. It came with a tiara and a mask with the respectable colors light blue and white. It also came with a white underskirt and white shoes.

Serena helped Moon into the dress and zipped it up. She sat her down and did her hair curled up and with a special trick Serena often used for Moon's hair. She applied light makeup and put the tiara and mask on Moon. After she was done, Moon stood up and looked in the mirror.

"Oh, it is beautiful, merci Serena! Ja taime!"

Mikeal soon walks in and is in awe of her daughter.

"You look very beautiful. Oh, it seems like yesterday, you were born in the world, and now you're 17. My little Moon child."

"Your dad and I actually picked out this dress for you, it's our birthday present for you."

"I cannot thank you enough Serena and dad. I cannot wait for tonight."

Serena and Mikeal look at Moon confused

"And why is that?"

"Because tonight will be the thrill of my life!"
