March 16th,
Diary, today was epic! Well, what was, was how Cassie defended herself, for once, boldly!
Secondly, our final exams are approaching faster so, Tony and I have been studying extra hard lately, together with Jamie and Carl who are also in their senior year.
During P.E, we played dodge ball and as usual, Samantha and her girls saw it as a pleasing way to inflict pain on other students, their targets. Cassie was on the opposite team which I was also in, so I made sure to play hard. Although, Cassie was really good! The way she dodged the balls were impressive.
"Were you always this good?" I asked her, panting a little.
"Yeah. Guess it's time to show those girls who the boss is." She said, winked at me and threw a ball effortlessly at Cynthia, one of Sam's girls and it her. The look on her face was priceless. Cassie and I high-fived and kept playing while Cynthia stomped her feet and left her place.
After having fun playing dodgeball, we were walking down the hall to the locker room when Sam and her girls stopped us. I saw fear flash across her face then she masked it with a blank expression.
"Uhm excuse us." She said non challantly as Sam and her girls burst into laughter.
"Oh I see. You've got some nerve now, don't you?" She asked, laughing humorlessly.
"We just want to be on our way and you're-" she started as Sam pulled her hair roughly.
"Cassie!" I yelled as the two girls held me back.
"Who do you think you are, throwing balls at us?! Huh!" She snarled as Cassie kept struggling.
"Let go! You're hurting me!" She pleaded.
"It's dodgeball. You're meant to dodge the ball and not allow it to touch you. It's a game!" I yelled as Sam shot me a sour look.
"Stay out of this-" she said as Cassie suddenly yanked her hair out of her hand and stood up, facing Sam's bewildered face.
"Don't you ever! Don't you ever pull my hair like that and don't you dare talk to her like that! You've tortured me enough and I won't let that continue any longer. I'm not gonna be your slave or doormat either and I'm not gonna let your insecurities affect me-" Sam slapped Cassie, hard. I broke free from the girls' grip and I ran to Cassie.
"Are you okay? I think we should just leave-"
"No. Let me face my fears first." I didn't really understand what she meant but when I looked at Sam, I saw that her eyes were watery already. Now, I guess what Cassie was trying to say was that she needed to confront Sam, her fear.
"Insecurities? You caused this! You and you're filthy mother caused it-"
"Never! Never you call my mother filthy! I don't appreciate you saying that. After all, you won't like it if I cursed your dead mother!" Cassie shouted as Sam looked away, tears already streaming down her face as Cynthia and Addie tried to pull her away.
"If your mother hadn't come into the picture, my life wouldn't have been like this! I hate you! And you can't stop me from doing whatever I will with you!" Sam cried.
"No. Sam, I won't let you bully me anymore. It's over. I won't let you cross my boundaries because it won't be cool if you do. You've done enough. And you don't get to blame my mother for your father's promiscuity that killed your mother! No you don't-" Sam was about to slap her again but Cassie caught it mid air.
"How dare you!" Sam snapped, trying to pull her hand away but Cassie held it tighter.
"Now you listen you me. All these is gonna end here. You would no longer torture me or my mum or my brother and you would give us the respect we deserve! Unless you want to incur ABBA's wrath on yourself for your wickedness towards us. "Cassie said, released Sam's hand and walked away, leaving them stunned.

"Cassie, how'd you feel now?" Ray asked as we told them all what had happened.
"I feel....I feel this sense of cool and calmness in me but I still feel afraid for some reason." She replied.
"That's okay. I like the fact that you were able to stand up for yourself. But do you mind telling us why Sam blamed your mother for her mother's death?" I asked as she sighed.
"Her father was a promiscuous man who had an affair with my mum and made her believe he was single and wanted to marry her. But my mum didn't know he was already married at the time. His wife, Diana was very sick and so he conducted a secret wedding with my mum and then she got pregnant few months after. On the day mum gave birth to Jesse, my little brother, Diana died and Sam got to find out about her father's new family when she got home that night. According to her, she had been calling dad to come to the hospital where Diana died but he wasn't responding and she hated us all for what had happened. So, that's why she hates my mum, my brother and i... I don't know why her father mistreats us but that's all I know." She said as we all took some time to digest the horrible story.
"Woaw....that's a lot! I can't believe that Sam's bitterness towards you is because of her mother's death..." Lissa said.
"Anyways, I'm so glad I stood up to her and I'm just hoping I'll have the same courage when i get home." She said.
"What do you mean? " I asked.
"She might tell dad..." she said.
