5 Old scores- part 1

On the other side of the village, the cart that was being pulled by the cows stopped to a halt.

"We have reached the village," said the man who had been driving the cart.

Taehyung who had his eyes closed all the while during the journey with his hand over his eyes moved it away, grey eyes squinting to look at the sun. Pushing himself up, he jumped down for his feet to land in ease.

Linking his hands together he stretched his hands in front of him. Squeezing his shoulder muscles which flexed beneath his clothes, he looked at the houses which were at a far distance. A river bank was situated next to the village as it ran streams of water with fishes jumping up and down playfully.

"Are you not going to the village?" asked Taehyung with a nod towards the man.

"I have vegetables that need to be picked from the next village before I come back here," the man said before starting the cart and leaving the tall blonde man alone.

Hunching up the bag on his shoulder, he headed to the village.

As much as he wanted to go meet his beloved mother and brothers who hadn't made an effort to see him in the mountains during his absence, Taehyung had scores to be settled with the local men. It had been a good few months where he had not shown his face around which only made it that much better in finding them. Once he would enter the palace, his family name would hang around his head with the need of what and what not to do when it came to dealing with his people.

He found the village to be in its merry time with the fair which was taking place in and around the streets.

"Tch," he tsked looking at the people around him. He was never the one to like the fairs that were set in this or any other villages. It was more of his second brother Hoseok's interest. Walking in the crowd as he were a commoner when they were young. Jin, his eldest brother was there as a chaperone while Taehyung was forced to tag along with his brothers.

Being youngest of all the three, Taehyung had been spoilt with love and affection which led to him getting into fights as he grew up at times when he would hide his identity and behave as if he were a commoner like Hoseok but for different reasons. The ends of his white bandana moved at the back of his head which wavered with every step he took.

His interest didn't lie in the fair that was colorful and bright but when he caught sight of his older brother walking with a woman next to him, his footsteps came to a halt. He did hear from the monk that his mother was finding suitors for his brother Jin to form the right alliance so that they could benefit lands and other retainers by combining forces together.

The woman he accompanied wore a screen cloth in front of her face to hide her face subtly.

Just as he stood there a man bumped into him, the drunk stench coming off from him, he turned with an annoyed expression on his face to see which idiot had the audacity to not see where he was going.

Surprisingly, it was one of the men he had come looking for. He cocked his head to the side, staring at the man before going to aid him.

"Huh? Who are you?" asked the man to see Taehyung smile at the man politely.

"A commoner passing by, where are you headed in such drunk state? Get up," he said pulling the man up on his feet but the man could barely stand still as he wobbled left and right.

"Where are you taking me?" the man slurred in his dizziness. Taehyung didn't bother to answer his questions and instead took him to the store where he knew the other two men in the trio always hung out. Reaching the store, the man exclaimed, "You read my mind. I wanted to come here but how did you know?" at this, Taehyung dropped the man as if he were a sack of potatoes, making the man whine due to the sudden unexpected contact of his boney bottom with the ground, "What was that for?" the man yelled.

Seeing the reserved water in the tub next to the store, Taehyung grabbed the water with a tumbler and threw it on the man's face. Rolling up his sleeves, he said, "Let me remind you what it was for."
