You’ll always be my obsession.
Rex was screaming but no sound left his closed mouth. He couldn't hear, he couldn't see, he couldn't speak.
His friend was attacking him!
She were trying to kill him!
Fear was not an emotion Rex had ever considered before but it was all his confused mind could shriek at him. Deep within the sobbing screams and final dying cry of Annie compounded in his mind.
Behind him he heard a familiar deep whirring noise. Spinning around, he saw Circe standing shakily on her feet. The whirring was caused by the spinning air that was gathering before her open mouth.
Circe watched as Rex turned. Rex, her friend, was going to die. She was going to kill him. And prevent him from doing the same to anyone else.
Screaming and crying internally, Circe focused all of her energy on this single task. The deep whirring was now a high pitch screech as their eyes met.
Laying down Annie's still body, Rex screamed something that was whipped away by the wind. Circe watched as he took a breathtakingly sharp ascent before hovering above with his Smackhands extended. With hatred in his eyes, Rex dropped back towards the ground.
Suddenly, the noise stopped.
Over the shrill screech of the wind and the thoughts running through his head, Rex failed to see that Circe had stopped. Running on instinct, Rex streamlined his body to increase the speed with which he descended. Closing his eyes as he closed in.
"I'm sorry." Circe said through her tears.
