Date?

"Iruka-sensei!! Why does an outstanding Ninja like me have to be on the same team as this bastard?!" Naruto yelled at their Academy teacher Iruka.

"Sasuke's grades were first among all the graduates. Naruto you were dead last. We have to do this to balance the teams, understand?" Iruka answered him.

"Bah. Just don't get in my way... Dead last." Sasuke said in a volume that Naruto could hear.

"Now, now, this is no way for us to be fighting right? After all we're a team aren't we?" Sakura said softly as if trying to pacify their conflict with each other.

'I forgot they're still children.' she thought.

The character development of these two characters were far behind compared to their end game self.

A sense of duty welled up within Sakura. As someone who has a more mature mental age, she will do his best to make them get along.

"Okay, this afternoon we'll introduce the Jonin-senseis, take a break until then." And so Iruka dismissed the class.

Sakura with her newfound motivation, walked in front of their shared desk to face both Sasuke and Naruto "Naruto-kun, Sasuke-kun, are both of you free this lunch? How about we get lunch together? To commemorate this day being put into the same team together?"

"Huh? Really?! I'll go! I'll go!" Naruto rejoiced.

Even though it was such a shame that Sasuke would be there too. Naruto didn't hesitate to accept an invitation coming from Sakura.

"Then Naruto-kun's in. What about you, Sasuke-kun?" Sakura turned towards him.

"Leave me out of it." Sasuke said and left them behind.

Sakura was disheartened that Sasuke rejected her invitation. That means her plan on having both of them get along failed. Still she didn't let it show to her face.

'Getting rejected by a cute young boy is nothing for this big sister.' Sakura humphed her flat chest.

Naruto had the urge to scold Sasuke's rude answer, but thinking about it his rejection actually gave him the opportunity to eat lunch together with Sakura!

'C-Could this be called a date?!' Naruto's heart quickened its pace.

"That's a shame." Sakura sighed.

"It's alright Sakura-chan! Leave that bastard Sasuke and let's go eat lunch together! How about we have Ramen, I know a good place!" Naruto said.

"Then, I guess it's just you and me today Naruto-kun." Sakura smiled at him.

Although Sakura would admit that her looks are only average, she was confident in giving out cute smiles to other people. The accumulation of her experience of cosplaying for years having to smile for the camera in taking pictures, made her charm increase exponentially when smiling.

Ichiraku Ramen place...

Naruto and Sakura went to the Ramen place together.

Sakura could sense the distasteful looks from civilians on Naruto. She remembered that the original Sakura's parents warned her to not get close with Naruto. Their prejudice against him is heavy.

Sakura could also see some people she was acquainted with and neighbors. Now that she's spending her time with Naruto, it seems her reputation would be tarnished.

'Not like I care. The only harm they could do is spread baseless rumors anyway.' Sakura said.

Now that she's already here, Sakura thought of many things that would come out good from this.

After a while Naruto and Sakura sat on the front table where it's the nearest to the Ramen cook.

"Say Naruto-kun, now that we're already teammates. I guess let's get to know each other more." Sakura started getting an ice breaker.

"What's your favorite food?"

"There's nothing else but Ramen! Sakura-chan did you know, Iruka-sensei..."

"Ehh? Did Iruka-sensei really..."

And so Sakura started coming up with several topics to talk about. Naruto answered them, sometimes he would add silly irrelevant information to them.

Sakura didn't look disinterested or annoyed. In fact Sakura made sure to listen to every word this young Naruto says. She also giggled on his corny jokes that he sometimes makes.

'Hehe, he's so cute. Is this what it felt like to have someone like an adorable younger brother?' Sakura thought.

Back in her previous life on earth, she was an only child. Though that also doesn't change in this world.

Their ramen finally arrived when Teuchi delivered their ramen bowls.

""Itadakimasu~"" Naruto and Sakura

While eating their ramen, Sakura and Naruto finally have taken a break from talking too much with each other.

Swallowing a mouthful of noodles and sipping the soup quietly, Sakura tasted the first ramen she had in this world.

"Not gonna lie, this ramen is delicious."

"You bet it is!" Naruto smiled joyfully.

The girl he liked actually liked his favorite food. It made him very happy he could jump to the moon.

"Ha... I wish Sasuke-kun would be here with us. Right, Naruto-kun?" Sakura sighed.

Naruto snapped from his delusions hearing Sakura mentioning Sasuke.

"What's so good about that guy anyway?! Just leave him alone, Sakura-chan." Naruto said.

Sakura looked at him with a kind face. Her hands moved towards Naruto's head and patted him kindly.

"You shouldn't say words like that Naruto-kun. Sasuke-kun is going to be our comrade from now on you know?" Sakura said slowly.

"Well you will eventually know what I'm saying. Just don't forget the words I said, will you promise me that?" she continued.

Sakura judged that merely feeding him words would only cause confusion. Naruto lacked experience and was still immature.

"Okay, I understand." Naruto said.

"That's good, then let's finish up quick and return to the Academy." Sakura smiled satisfied with his answer.
