34 Decision

After Caol learned about the Land of the Titans, he immediately made up his mind to go there right away. Caol did not need to linger around in the Dragon Army as his objective to fight against stronger opponents have been accomplished.

He would need to talk about Granny Yu and Master Jian about his decision. It would be a life changing one for him and would greatly impact his future.

Caol looked for General Yang to convey his message. He found General Yang in the building that was used by the previous Governor of this stronghold. General Yang was commanding his aides about the things that needed to be done.

Caol was stopped by a guard outside and asked him of his purpose in going there. Before the guard could interrogate him further, General Yang noticed the commotion and let Caol inside.

Once he was in front of General Yang, Caol did a military salute and waited.

"What brings you here, Caol?"

General Yang asked him first. It was a bit odd for Caol to go to him unless Caol had something very important to say.

"General, I would like to withdraw from the army." Caol stated his decision without tossing turns. This shocked General Yang as Caol was a huge asset to have in the war. Caol had a battle power stronger than a Martial Saint and could fight against immortals, yet, he wanted to leave. General Yang could not just let him leave without hearing his reasons.

"Why did you suddenly decide to leave the Army?" Caol had to have a good reason pertaining to his decision in leaving.

"I just feel like I won't get stronger in the Army anymore. Unless I fight directly with some immortals, there are no more practitioners to fight in the Tiger Continent. This is the only reason why I joined in the first place." As Caol made up his mind, he directly told General Yang this. General Yang only sighed after hearing his reason.

General Yang knew very well why Caol joined the Army. Now that there was no more advancement here, Caol knew he had to leave, however, General Yang is a soldier through and through. That is why he hoped that Caol would stay and fight for his Continent.

"I don't have any interest in fighting for the Continent anymore, General. I have already made up my mind, and no one can steer me away from this." This was Caol's vicious reply to General Yang. Seeing Caol's resolve, General Yang allowed him to leave the Army.

Before allowing him to leave, General Yang did not abolish Caol's position as the Captain of the Soaring Dragon Regiment and just let Caol leave, with the excuse of going on a vacation. Caol did not mind and just allowed him to do whatever he wanted to do. The temporary leadership of the Regiment was given to Feng as he was the next person that was qualified. With Feng's cultivation and his extrovertness, Caol thought he would do just fine.

Caol walked alone outside the stronghold. As he left the gates, Caol summoned his Nimbus and rode it, heading towards Jade Peak first. Caol needed to tell Granny Yu of his decision before everyone else first.

Riding on the Nimbus was way faster than any mode of transportation Caol currently knew. The journey to Jade Peak was not going to take a whole day.

Throughout the ride, Caol experienced different things. Rare species of birds flew alongside him, an enormous amount of wind pressure went against him. Caol even had to steer away from a brewing storm that was so strong from its periphery that the Nimbus was almost blown away.

It was a mini adventure as this was the first time Caol used the Nimbus for a long flight. Soon enough, Jade Peak was within Caol's sight. He used the Nimbus to fly straight onto the top of the mountain to look for Granny Yu.

As expected, Granny Yu was still meditating in front of her abode. Granny Yu sensed someone nearing, but she immediately knew it was Caol.

Caol landed in front of her while the Nimbus flew upwards, waiting to be summoned again.

"Granny!"

Granny Yu formed a smile on her face. The brat was back!

"Why are you here and not on the frontlines?" Caol was interrogated right after he shouted. Obviously, Caol already prepared his excuse.

"Granny, I left the Army."

After hearing Caol's excuse, Granny Yu smiled even more. She did not like the fact that Caol was in the Army as it was dangerous. Caol was only a 15 year old boy that should not have participated in those trivial matters. The last time was a close call, and if she was not able to make it in time, Caol would have surely died.

Granny Yu did not say anything, but Caol had a lot of stuff to tell her. He told her about the fight that happened recently and the breakthrough of the Army, capturing the stronghold. Caol filled it with colorful descriptions, adding up more adjectives as the story progresses.

Granny patiently listened to Caol's story. She was glad that he was able to experience a meaningful life, however, she also became worried when Caol described the fights. He also told her about the place where all geniuses gathered. The place of the powerhouses and the strong.

"Granny, I plan on heading to the Land of the Titans. I have not talked to Master Jian about it as I wanted you to be the first one to know."

Granny Yu was touched as Caol went to her first, but, she has heard about that place before. Stronger immortal cultivators venture out into the sea to find new places besides their Continents. On one such occasion, a cultivator stumbled upon this place. There, the resources are very plentiful and it is where the majority of the world's qi congregated on.

She knew she could not change Caol's mind about this, so she reluctantly agreed. With Caol's potential, there was no future staying in the Continents as that will just hinder his path.

"Just remember, Caol. Be careful and keep yourself alive." Granny Yu handed him an artifact that looked like a small totem. "When you are in danger and you need help, just input your qi into this item and use it like the Message-Sending Talismans." Granny Yu reminded him thoroughly about other stuff he needed to be careful about.

Caol hugged Granny Yu tightly as he will miss her. It will be about a few years before they could see each other again. He then summoned the Nimbus again and flew towards the Capital. As Caol was ascending in the air, he looked back at Granny Yu's figure. The one who raised him, even though he was abandoned.

The Nimbus zoomed away at neck-breaking speeds and was out of Granny Yu's sight.

As he was nearing the Capital, Caol decided to descend a bit further from Dragon City and just walk towards there. By his speed, it would not take long.

Caol was a Captain of an elite group, thus, he had his medallion with him. This time, he entered through the North Gate. It was not as populated as the South Gate as Caol was the only one who entered at this time.

Caol immediately headed into the army grounds and looked for his Master. Unfortunately, Master Jian was not there. Caol saw a guard outside and asked about Master Jian's whereabouts.

"I don't know, sir. The Marshall left early this morning, but, he will probably be back soon."

After being informed that Master Jian was going to be back later, Caol headed to the backyard. The serene and peaceful atmosphere here really calmed the mind. Caol went beside the tree and sat there. Meditation was a good way to burn time.

The only thing Caol did not expect was that Master Jian was not back after a whole day of waiting. Caol thought that maybe Master Jian had something important to do, so Caol still waited.

Three days. Caol knew that it usually did not take too long for Master Jian to be out of his house like this. It was very rare, so Caol decided to go the the barracks and ask some of the higher-ranked officers there.

The Marshall was nowhere to be found! That was the only news Caol got. It seemed like Master Jian suddenly disappeared into thin air.

Since Master Jian was not there, Caol had no idea when he will be back, so Caol decided to write a letter about his plan to go to the Land of the Titans. He also thanked Master Jian for training him, and allowing Caol to control his power.

Now that everything was settled, Caol felt that it was time to start his journey. He bought some supplies in the city. Food, clothes, materials, and other things Caol thought was necessary to bring. After he filled the storage ring that Granny Yu gave him, Caol summoned the Nimbus and started heading North-East.

His next destination? The Land of the Titans!
