From Death to Saiyan: The Goddess's Blessing (chapter 2)

A soft, ethereal light danced around me as I floated weightlessly through the celestial realm. I had died after that fight and was given the chance to watch my sisters live their life. It was weird watching my own funeral. I felt an odd sense of peace. So this was what it felt like after death. As i turned away after watching them leave, a portal opened before me and pulled me in.

"Welcome, brave one," a voice echoed through the emptiness that I had found myself in, but it did resonate within my very essence. As I turned to see who had spoken, a bright light flashed as the Goddess of War materialized before me, her divine aura shimmering brightly in shades of gold and crimson. Her eyes, fierce and resolute, pierced into mine, leaving no room for doubt or fear, only admiration. I don't know how i know she was a goddess, but something inside me could just tell.

"I have been watching your battles, Emi, and I must say, your valor and courage are truly commendable."

"Thank you, Goddess." The words formed effortlessly in my thoughts, somehow reaching her without the need for spoken language. It was as though our minds were connected, which was weird as i tried to touch my mouth only to notices I didn't have fingers, I was made up of some type of energy.

"Your spirit has earned a reward for its bravery for allowing your sisters to escape," she said, her voice lilting like a melody that stirred the strings of my heart. "I shall grant you three wishes, Emi. Choose wisely, and know that each wish you make will have profound consequences not just for you but also for the universes beyond."

The ethereal landscape around me shimmered, the colors shifting like a kaleidoscope. Time seemed to stand still as I gazed into the eyes of the Goddess of War, her presence radiating both beauty and power.

"Alright," I said, my voice steady despite the overwhelming circumstances. "My first wish is to be reborn as a Saiyan in the Dragon Ball universe, with my memories protected from others reading them."

The Goddess tilted her head, considering my request. A moment later, she nodded. "A bold choice, Emi. Your courage and warrior spirit shall serve you well among the Saiyans. Rest assured, your memories will be safeguarded from the likes of Berus and their angels."

I couldn't help but grin at her confirmation. The thought of becoming a part of that legendary warrior race filled my soul with determination and purpose. My heart raced as I imagined the battles I would face, the challenges I would overcome, and the friends I would make along the way. My past experiences, in a sense, had made me someone who loved to fight, but maybe it was time for me to learn a fighting style.

"Right, I must ask you, would you prefer to remain female or become male?" The goddess asked.

"I would prefer to remain female, but if possible could I still have freckles?" I asked. I know it sounds like a weird request, but it was something I honestly liked about myself.

"Yes dear you can"

"Thank you, Goddess," I said, As I watched a portal open to show me a baby Saiyan girl floating in a pod filled with greenish water. "For my second wish, I want to possess the power to travel to different universes, and explore new realms."

The Goddess of War raised an eyebrow, her eyes shimmering with intrigue. "A bold request," she mused. "But it is within my power to grant. You have shown bravery and valor in your previous life, and I am certain that your adventurous spirit will continue to drive you as a Saiyan. Are you sure that this is what you desire?"

"Absolutely," I replied confidently, my heart pounding with excitement at the thought of exploring endless worlds beyond my imagination. "I've always longed for adventure and discovery, and I believe that having the ability to traverse the multiverse will allow me to grow into an even stronger warrior."

"Very well," the goddess nodded, her expression filled with approval. "I will bestow upon you the ability to transcend the boundaries of existence and become a multiversal traveler. However, remember that in those realms other gods, or far more powerful beings, can be alerted to your arrival. Tread carefully in these new realms."

"Understood," I responded earnestly, as much as it would shame me to admit Infront of a goddess, all I really wanted to do, was fight against powerful people.

"Then it is done," the Goddess declared, raising her arms in front of her. A swirling vortex of cosmic energy appeared between us, pulsating with every color imaginable. The force of its presence was overwhelming, yet somehow reassuring. It felt as though my entire being was being pulled towards it, magnetically drawn by the promise of infinite possibilities.

The Goddess of War extended her hand, fingers splayed, and a bolt of energy shot forth from her palm, connecting with the vortex. As the energy reached it, the vortex expanded, enveloping me in its otherworldly embrace. I could feel the very fabric of reality shifting around me as if the cosmos itself was being reshaped to accommodate my newfound abilities.

That energy condensed into my spirit, before I returned to my normal color.

"Be aware that there is a limit to how many times you can travel each day." She said, and as I was about to ask about the limit, she simply raised one finger. Right, so once a day.

Having been granted the power to transcend the boundaries of existence, I couldn't help but feel a rush of exhilaration. Maybe I could fight beings like Superman or Thor. But those would be way down the line. Now for my last wish.

"Great Goddess, I wish to augment my combat potential using smart cells from the 'Invincible' universe," I said, my voice unwavering.

The Goddess of War furrowed her brow, concern etched on her divine visage. "Emi," she began cautiously, "melding your essence with those dominant genes is not without risk. The Saiyan blood coursing through your veins is already an extraordinary force. Combining it with the smart cells could yield unpredictable consequences."

"Please, Goddess," I implored, "grant me this final wish."

The Goddess of War regarded me for a long moment, her eyes searching mine for any hint of uncertainty. Finally, she nodded. "Very well, Emi. But I must make some modifications to your request. To ensure your safety, I will remove the dominating trait it has."

I mulled over the Goddess's words, considering the implications of her modifications to my wish. My Saiyan heritage was crucial to me, and I knew that I needed to preserve it while incorporating these new abilities. The Enhanced Lung Capacity and Longevity would undoubtedly be great as I wouldn't have to worry about old age for an extremely long time.

"Very well," I said, taking a deep breath, "I accept your modifications and the risks they entail."

Her fingers danced in the air, weaving an intricate tapestry of energy. Before my eyes, the shimmering strands coalesced into a swirling mass of pure power, brimming with untapped potential.

"Are you ready for this, Emi?" the Goddess asked one last time, her voice heavy with concern.

I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what was to come. There was no turning back now. "Yes, Goddess. I am ready."

"Then let it be done," she whispered, and with a final flourish of her hand, the mass of energy surged towards me.

The impact was like nothing I had ever experienced before, a tidal wave of raw power that threatened to tear me asunder. Every inch of my being cried out in pain, yet I refused to be broken. My gritted teeth, with a fire in my eyes, and as I turned my head, I could see the baby in pain as well.

As the energy finally began to subside, I could feel the newfound abilities coursing through my veins, melding seamlessly with my Saiyan heritage. The sensation was at once alien and familiar, The baby also calmed down it seemed.

"Thank you, Goddess," I murmured, my voice hoarse from the ordeal.

Suddenly, an intense pull seized me, dragging my ethereal form through a swirling vortex of darkness. It felt like I was being torn apart and reassembled all at once, the sensation overwhelming my senses.

And then, just as suddenly, I found myself opening my eyes anew. Blinking against the harsh fluorescent lights, I realized I was now inhabiting the tiny body of the Saiyan baby I had seen. I flexed my miniature fingers and toes, still trying to process what had happened.

"Is this...?" I thought, my mind racing with questions.

As I looked around, I saw other babies suspended in transparent pods, floating peacefully. Thankfully I seemed to be in the second row, which would mean I was born into an elite. Their delicate forms were bathed in a soft blue glow, their faces serene and innocent. At that moment, I couldn't help but smile like a crazed person. Finally, I could let go and fight just because I wanted to.

Now, as I floated in the pod, my thoughts turned toward the future. My Saiyan blood surged, eager for the battles to come. The Enhanced Lung Capacity and Longevity granted by the Goddess would be essential in facing the many challenges that lay ahead. Beings like Freeza, who could breathe in space, wouldn't be a worry for me. Even if they destroyed the planets we were fighting on.

"Bring it on multiverse!"
