Sensations

In his silent room, Leroy was sitting lazily on his big sofa while looking through his room windows toward the city, in his hand

was an almost finished glass of fine whiskey which he balanced in circles.

At his side was a Virtual Gaming Cabin. Checking the time in his watch, it was 8:55 PM.d

Sigh. "Well it's time to get started" he said to himself as he took one last sip off the glass and left it at the table.

Getting in the cabin, he calmly pressed the Start button.

God's Domain could be played while sleeping, this made a lot of people choosing to buy this game.

The game also had a time dilation system which time pass two times slower, like these, the days in God's Domain

consisted of 48 hours, 36h of daytime and 18 of nighttime.

Not only that, but real life nighttime was actually daytime in the game, this made it more convenient for working class

and students.

Leroy passed through a tunnel of a with a great variety of colors before arriving at a temple that seemed to be made of gold.

A little, palm-sized four-winged female angel flew close to him as he watched her with an amused smile.

"Hello Adventurer, welcome to God's Domain. I am the Navigation Angel, Gabriel. I will be introducing to you the four main categories and twelve main jobs. Please choose the job that you like most."

Gabriel waved her little hands, and an illustration introducing the twelve main jobs appeared in front of Leroy.

The 12 main jobs were categorized into 4 classes.

Warrior: Shield Warrior, Guardian Knight, Berserker.

Weapons Specialist: Swordsman, Assassin, Ranger.

Healer: Cleric, Druid, Oracle.

Mage: Elementalist, Summoner, Cursemancer.

Warriors specialized in defense; weapons specialists focused on physical damage output; healers focused on healing; mages focused on magical damage output. Every job had its own style of battle, which was one of the main selling points of God's Domain.

He would be retarded if he didn't choose a mage related job taking into account his previous lives experience.

So without hesitating, he choose the Cursemancer Class.

"Job selection complete. Please designate a name for your character."

"Sensations".

There was no particular reason to choose this nickname, it was one the was using in his previous life lately after seeing it in another player.

"Naming successful. Do you wish to adjust your appearance? Adjustment rate limited to 15%."

He only choose to get his hair larger at the height of his shoulders and changed his eye color from green to a deep blue, but didn't change his facial structure or anything else.

"Please select a birthplace in the Star-Moon Kingdom."

A map that showed ten cities of Star-Moon Kingdom appeared in front of Leroy, he read the cities description with interest.

Thinking that top-ranked cities might be too crowded at the start, he choose the one right in the middle of the ranks.

"White River City" told to the system with a slight smile.

White River City was Star-Moon Kingdom's fifth-ranked city. It was an important city in the north of Star-Moon Kingdom. There were quite a few players and smaller Guilds that choose this city as to avoid the large Guilds conflicts.

"City confirmed. Player will arrive in Falling Moon Town of White River City in three seconds. We wish you happy gaming."

The scenery blurred quickly and he felt his consciousness being transported somewhere else.

Falling Moon Town, as in most games of the genre, it was a medieval-looking town similar to those of hundreds of years into the past.

The buildings had no particular order and were pretty similar in style.

A lot of NPCs walked around his spawn point making it seem quite a bustling place.

Thinking to himself, Leroy thought that more than a game this seemed like a specially adapted dimension, it felt so realistic!.

Leroy walked to around the streets seeing all the other players busy either stalking the NPCs in search for a new quest or leaving the town in search for monsters to kill.

As he walked around he choose to open the character information menu with a wave of his hand.

A Cursemancer was a damage-crowd control type class and would usually require to prioritize Int as to increase Magic Damage.

Leroy wasn't in a rush, though, he just checked the window and continued to walk to the gates when he saw the NPC guard, who had a cold and bored expression on his face, he walked to him and said: "Sir, you seemed to be perturbed by something, maybe there is something I can help you with?"

The NPC guard looked at him with his poker face and said: "No, if you want to help ask around the town or go outside to hunt some monsters".

With that the guard turned his face and didn't even look at him again, leaving Leroy helpless as the number 1 phrase to trigger a quest didn't work.

He still was more interesting into combat, after all, so he continued to walk until he arrived outside the town into grassland with tall trees standing tall far away and one could see a mountain even more far away.

In the grassland, players could be seemed fighting against LVL 1 to 3 Rabbits. Even if a monster was slightly higher Level than them, they made it up in the numbers, each second seemed to have more and more players joining in until a Rabbit wouldn't be alive more than 3 seconds.

Seeing this, Leroy kept walking, as he got closer to the forest, monsters started to be higher level and the number of players decreased too, only parties of 4 or more could be seen at this place now.

Without much, Leroy found his opponent, a Level 2 Rabbit which was the weakest he could find while most others were Level 4.

Rabbit (Common)

Level: 2

HP: 80/80

"Dark Arrow"

Chanting the skills, an arrow made of darkness appeared and went flying towards the Rabbit, hitting it in the forehead.

-15

The Rabbit HP went down by a quarter from a single hit, it reacted fast by jumping into Leroy with an open mouth, Leroy sidestepped and kicked it while in mid-air, sending the rabbit to crash four meters away from him and stunning him for 1 second as it crashed head-on into a rock.

As the Rabbit's stun went off, he shook his head and stared again to Leroy, once again he jumped into him but before he got close was smashed again into the rock, this time by a Dark Arrow.

-17

Rabbit (Wild Animal)

Level: 2

HP: 48/80

Other players couldn't help but turn their attention to him for a second contemplating how he actually kicked the Rabbit into the rock stunning him shortly but given himself enough time for his Dark Arrow skill be ready again and chanting it perfectly before the Rabbit could bite him.

Most players in the fields were still a mess, specially magic-based classes which were a bit harder to get used to.

Still, nobody wanted to lose their precious first time admiring others and went down to their business while Leroy finished his first monster in God's Domain.

At his feet lay the corpse of the Rabbit, he quickly looted it.

Acquired: Rabbit Pelt x1.

Gained Exp:

Contemplating the battle, especially the casting of his skill, Leroy understood much more about the casting system, he was surprised that it actually resembled the spells of his previous work, even to at a very basic level.

Eager to experiment a bit more, he aimed his staff to a Level 3 Rabbit and chanted...

You have Leveled UP...

4 Free Attribute Points Gained.

After killing a few more Rabbits, Leroy could make more sense of the spell system in God's Domain, although mana was a weaker form of energy compared to Spiritual Energy he used back in his previous life, it was pretty accurately developed in the game, which made Leroy even more suspicious about this game.

Walking to the trees of the forest, he spotted a different type of Rabbit lurking around the bushes.

Iron Toothed Rabbit (Common)

Level: 5

HP: 350/350

It was a rabbit with a metallic pair of sharp teeth.

Without hesitation, Leroy casted a Dark Arrow.

-8

Seen the low damage, he understood that this was far stronger than the other rabbits.

Fast, the Iron Toothed Rabbit charged at Leroy at high speed while trying to give Leroy a bite, which he barely evaded.

"This monster is faster than I thought..."

He had 8 Free Points to add. He choose to add 5 to Agi and 3 to Int while dodging another charge of the Rabbit.

Feeling slightly faster, he felt more confident in evading the rabbits' attacks while killing it faster.

"Dark Arrow"

-15 Critical Hit

The arrow sent the rabbit to stumbling backward making him fall.

He hit the rabbit with another Dark Arrow -19.

The fight continued without suspense for someone who had so much experience in fights like Leroy.

Iron Toothed Rabbit killed

Acquired: Rabbit Pelt x2

Acquired: Iron Tooth x2

Acquired: Rabbit Meat x3

Acquired: Rabbit's Boots

Looting the items, Leroy checked the boots.

Rabbit's Boots(common)

Level: 5

Defense: +5

HP: +20

Agi: +2

Durability: 50/50

He couldn't equip the boots yet but wasn't disappointed, at this stage of the game, the number of players who could solo a Level 5 monsters could be counted with one hand.

Next, he kept on killing Lvl 5 rabbits, although it was slow it was still better than sharing the ones in the grasslands with dozens of players.

If anyone saw his techniques and perfectly timed evasions while killing a monster way above his level they probably scream in fright, it was unthinkable for a player to be killing Level 5 monsters from the start, they were stronger and their combat standards better than the cute little rabbits outside the town.
