1 Letter I

To Lord Richard J. Graves

Former Grand Commander of the Erdanian Knights, Lord Protector of the Northern Holy Empire of Erdania, Lord of Blackhall, and Grandmaster of the Swordsmanship school of Erdania.

Lord Graves… No… Lord Commander, first and foremost, I apologize for my decision of banishing you and your men after the battle of Greenfields. I was blinded with rage and ill minded of your seemed betrayal which turns out was for my own good. For almost twenty years now I had realized my need of you was much more urgently needed. I have no right to ask for your forgiveness nor will it be accepted.

For i fear for my daughter's life. We are in constant dangers of foes we cannot see and only heard. Even as I write this letter I'm in constant fear as if I were being watched by the eyes and ears of the unseen enemy. The Faithless is rising and becoming more dangerous, I fear there will be another rebellion in hand and I will be powerless to stop it all from beginning. My spies had told me that some of my trusted people had betrayed me by joining the Faithless and only few still loyal to the crown and myself. Lord Uther is working behind the scene to orchestrate a subtle counter attack but, I fear it won't be enough.

Signs of magic and the unseen before beasts of all manners had shown itself inside our holy walls and the church of light now grew powerless to fight them as they were filled with the corrupt and misguided ones. They probably are being controlled by them also. Threats of war, signs of magic, the unseen foes of beasts and such, are this truly the darkness the prophecy had said? Will this be the sign of the end of times?

So for that I, as your Empress will reinstate you to your former titles as Grand Commander of the Erdanian Army and your men will be granted pardon to serve the Empire once more or be free of their duties. Your orders are to safeguard my daughter, for she is the light in this times of darkness, protect our realm, its people, and our allies like my predecessors before me. Protect Erdania with your life, Master.

This is my plea and an order upon you if it will ever reached your hands. This will be my first and last letter upon you since our last meeting. May the God of Light bless, protect and give you strength towards the coming darkness.
