9 Chapter Eight

The next morning, Caroline wakes up. She checks her phone just to find a missed call from Cass. Caroline calls Cass. "Hello?" Answered Cass. "Hey, sorry for not answering. I was asleep. Did you need something?" Asked Caroline. Caroline looked at the sun. "Yes, I need you to come to my house if you can. It's urgent", said Cass. "I'll come as soon as I finish breakfast", said Caroline. Caroline made her bed and went to the kitchen. Caroline made a bowl of cereal and ate it. "Darling, did you have good night's sleep?" Asked Ms. Andersen. "Yes, sorry for waking up late", said Caroline. Ms. Andersen smiled. "Don't be, as long as you had good night sleep", said Ms. Andersen. Caroline finished eating her cereal and went outside. She walked to Cass's house. She knocked on the door and Cass answered. "Hey, you're here. Come in", said Cass. They went in the basement. "So, it turns out that you are in fact a descendant of a witch. Actually two but that's how far I'm going to get", said Cass. Caroline was shocked. "Now we need to go to the library and do research about them and I'm not telling you the names because it's a surprise", said Cass. They walked to the library and Caroline bumped into Christina and Cynthia.

"Hey Christina! Hey Cynthia!" Said Caroline. "Oh hey", said Christina. Cass grabbed Caroline by her arm. "This is no fun and games! Do you even want your brother to live?" Asked Cass. Caroline nodded. Cass looked for books about the Salem Witch Trial. "Am I part witch?" Asked Caroline. "Yes you actually are. I'm part witch too. My grandma was a full witch but I never got to meet her", said Cass. Caroline looked at the book. Cass skimmed through the pages and found the two witches. "Caroline Hutchinson I and Raphael Patterson I are your ancestors", said Cass. "Wait what? But that's me and my brother's name. Oh, I actually see why I have the II at the end of my last name", said Caroline. Cass blushed. "Want me to tell you a little bit about your ancestors?" Asked Cass. Caroline nodded. "Caroline Hutchinson was a witch but she practiced good spells. At the Salem Witch Trials, the mayor at the time hated women so much so he executed as much as possible who had strange behavior but he secretly loved Caroline so he imprisoned her instead of executing her. At prison, she met a young male who was a witch that practiced good spells too named Raphael. They fell in love and Caroline was pregnant but Raphael was getting executed. She gave birth and gave the child away. She later passed away but rumor had it that she's plotting revenge for you guys and is possibly the reason why your brother is sick", explained Cass.

"Wow so much information. Is there a cure for the illness she cursed on Raphael?" Asked Caroline. "Sadly no but there is a way you can try to cure the illness. Challenge your ancestor to a battle and if you win you might be able to cure him but you need to practice and learn about being a witch", said Cass. Caroline sighed. "You know what? Sometimes, we have to accept our fate no matter what but thanks for helping", said Caroline. She left the library while Cass just stood there.
