1 CHAPTER 1, ENTRANCE CEREMONY

Roughly a century ago, the third world war began, this war lead to countless deaths and damages to the world. Countless nations fell and the bloodshed was enough to die the world's oceans red. However, the war ended with none of the countries victory because as the last days of the war came, a new enemy arrived on the battlefield. They killed indiscriminately not leaving anything in their wake. Days after their first appearance, five countries, four islands and an ocean had disappeared from the map, a week after that seven more nations, an archipelago and two oceans had also disappeared. Two weeks after their first appearance the map had lost it's meaning. Civilizations, cultures, legacies, histories all of it was destroyed at the blink of an eye. They then gathered together, in small hives and hardly came out again.

Years after such terrible events, people had started to develop strange abilities, some could fly, some could disappear and some could read minds. A new power for the humans, a new hope of establishing home and life for each other. They once more built towns and homes for each other, slowly on what was left of the world, they once more created nations. However, they appeared yet again, but the humans who had developed special abilities fought against them and they were driven away.

Now, after fifty years since their appearance, the world has found peace and humans have grown in numbers yet again. Those who carry the special power now stand at the forefront of the battle with them... the ones who had become known as the Shadows which threatened to destroy the new life the had built. The ones who have been given the task of fighting them have been named; Lights. The battle for the future of humanity... begins now!

LICHT'S POV

My name is Licht, I'm a Light, I have blond hair with bangs and a sidelocks on both side of my face that reach my chin, I have white skin with my right eye being red and the left being blue. I have a special kind of ability, it's called Guiding Light, the ability to move forward no matter the trial. Right now, as a Light I'm tasked with fighting the Shadows, but I also have a goal. My hometown, it was... destroyed by Shadows, I'll never forgive them.

Today is the entrance exam and I'll win it, so that I can avenge my family and friends who died. I followed the signs to the training hall and when I enter there are already a few faces here. I sat down amongst the crowd and among the many faces I saw, there were a few that stood out. A girl with red hair that was knee long, the hair had white tips and she had amber eyes and brown skin. A boy with black ahir and silver eyes with white skin who had a scar on his right eye brow and lastly a girl with her golden hair in a bob cut, she had orange eyes and white skin.

"Alright, listen up! You have five minutes to take down the Shadow. They're made to be the same for each student and are only smaller than the usual ones." A male voice speaks over the speakers. "You'll do so in turns."

What a bore, most of them take over three minutes to kill a low ranking Spider-type Shadow. The three that caught my attention earlier however took them in out in under a minute. 53 seconds, 50 seconds and 40 seconds. Just then, one takes them out in our 5 seconds. That guy, he has black hair that is straight and about waist long, he has black eyes and whit skin with a slender build. I see, The Destroyer... one of the strongest Lights there are. Amongst Lights there are those who are skilled and a cut above the rest, they're referred to as Swords and there are seven of them. Each has a rare ability and are extremely skilled... each is believed to be a prodigy, I wonder how great they are.

I soon had to take my turn so I went to the entrance and as the doors opened I entered the empty room where nothing was present, just a large white room. I watched as the Shadow began to from, it was just a Spider-type, the Shadows appear in countless forms and each has been classed and given a type. I happily held my weapon in my hand, it often goes unnoticed because despite being a knife it appears to just be a chuck of steel, but when I swing it forward, it becomes a knife.

The bell rang and I just ran forward and it seems that they've made the Shadow extremely weak, my knife could easily pierce right through it. I wonder how long I took?

"No way! Examinee No. 020; Licht Silvers, time .3 seconds!" The examiners voice suddenly screamed over the speakers.

I left the arena and went to join the other people who had finished their test. Not long the results were posted and it seems I'm in Class S, we'll things are going to get fun.

I went to the classroom after we were given permission to leave but I was stopped by an upperclassman. He wanted to have a friendly match with me to see just how skilled I was.
