"At first we were scared but when the ferocious beasts attacked us, I and your mother discovered that we had powers over Ice and Fire respectively. With these powers, we were able to defeat the Ferocious beasts and gain access to Beast Cards. Surprisingly, it did not end there, any Beast card I merged with would gain properties of Ice and your Mother's Fire. Later on, we found out that the pendant had given us the Innate talent of Ice and Fire. But, as we progressed in cultivation, it became clear that we were not suitable for the power, for men Yin is harmful to the body and your mother also faced the same situation with her body not being incompatible with Yang. If not for the chaotic outbursts that happen every year, causing our cultivation to decrease how can we still be stuck in the Peak of B-rank after 10 years? Although it might sound arrogant, if not for the Chaotic outbursts we would have long become S-rank Card Hunters."

Lewis was shocked, he did not know how to respond to his parents

"Don't worry, we never blamed the pendant though, because without it we were just ordinary citizens, even reaching B-rank was impossible without its help. You should know that the one's in power are still rich families from before the Limit Break phenomena, at the beginning they used their money to buy all kinds of Beast Cards from the ignorant citizens and monopolized its supply, only with the establishment of the Earth Federation did the situation change for the better."

"Even then, except for a small number of people, most of the S-rank Card Hunters are from rich families."

Lewis's father sighed when he mentioned this, he then thought it was time to let his son in on some secrets of the Earth Federation.

" As you might know, The Earth Federation is an organization formed with the combined efforts of all the countries in the world. The president of the Federation is elected every year, and no same person gets to become president again. The Current President, who was recently elected and won the seat with an overwhelming advantage is none other than the No.1 Card Hunter Golden Dragon 'Godyt'. The news has yet to be released to the public but all the people in power know of it. The first thing he did after taking the seat of the president, was to kill his opposition to the last man. His ruthless actions invoked fear in everyone and now everyone supports him fully."

"But, there are exceptions to this, his ruthless actions also led the rise of a new Opposition Faction led by the Lightning Queen 'Storm' and a Neutral Faction led by Death Worm 'Barin'."

The Top 10 Rankers usually never interfered with the Politics of Earth Federation but with the trigger from Godyt it has led to a very chaotic situation and everything might come crashing down if not handled carefully."

"Why am I telling you all this?, because I and your mother are part of the Lighting Queen 'Storm' Faction whether you like it or not now you will be forced to handle pressure from the Godyt Faction especially when you join Ace since it has become the perfect battlefield for the Factions because whoever controls Ace will become the final victor so the students in Ace will be the main players in each Faction"

"Also, don't assume that the Death Worm 'Barin' Faction is really neutral, you won't get any help from them, they are just waiting for the Godyt and Storm Faction to fight each other and reap the benefits."

Hellena took this moment to explain some other points,

"We were worried that you would have told someone about your Innate Talent because knowing that the Storm Faction gained someone with an Innate Talent, the Godyt faction and Barin faction would surely send Assassins to nip you in the bud"

Lewis felt a chill in his spine when he heard this, he was also glad he never mentioned the timer to anyone, it might have led some to believe that it was an Innate Talent.

Seeing his reaction, Whiteford smiled and assured his son,

"Since you did not mention it to anyone else, you just need to hide your Innate Ability till you enter Ace. With all the Top 10 Rankers now present in Ace, you only need to worry about the attacks in the open and not the ones in the dark."

Lewis heard his father and calmed down, he enter into deep thought he closed his eyes and slowly processed all the information he received,

His parents knew that it was difficult to take in so much information at once, so they waited for him to calm down,

When he finally opened his eyes, his icy eyes shone a resolute light and he spoke confidently,

"If you use all the Icefire Jade I produce, you will be able to break through to A-rank right?"

His parents were shocked by his proposition, Hellene refused without even thinking,

"The Icefire Jade was produced by you, how can we take it!?"

Lewis smiled and spoke in a soothing voice,

"The Icefire Jade is our family property, there is no need to argue on this, besides, by breaking through to A-rank both of you will have a higher standing in the Faction, thereby gaining the Lightning Queens attention, it will also be a form of protection for me as she will have to take care of me if she wanted to win both of you over."

Hearing Lewis, both of them were stunned, they never expected their son to think this far, both of them smiled and hugged him, taking Lewis by surprise but he returned the hug and felt himself quickly calming down, he would do anything to preserve this warmth he felt every time they were together.

After convincing his parents, he used the remaining 92 Energy and successfully fused 10 Icefire Jades out of it, Although his energy had turned zero which pained him, he did not think much of it since he could slowly recover with the help of the Yin-Yang Chaotic pendant.

He then gave his parents 6 Icefire Jade each but they insisted that he take 4 so that he can use them for his cultivation. Lewis thought it made sense but he did not need 4 so he convinced them that he would take only 2 and they take 5 each with the reason that the faster they broke through the better it was for them.

He then absorbed the first two items gaining back 6 Energy and wore the pendant which immediately gave him 2 Energy for the day. Now, he had 8 Energy but he refrained from using it, saving it for later.
