Prologue

'H-How The Hell Did It Get To Here?!'

She found herself being baffled by her life choices as she hugged her scratched and bruised knees tighter to her aching chest. Her tears were streaming down from her eyelids so fast that they hurt, and the fact that the tears were burning with various types of emotions didn't lessen the pain in her eyes at all.

The glowing moon was the only light that was shining in the dark, making most of the darkness disappear within the shadows.

Everything ached, and because of this, she couldn't stop herself from crying. The night was strangely cold, making the girl shudder when the wind gently blew air into her scratched-up skin. Her eyes were tired and burning, from so much crying to the point where they turned blood-red and puffy.

All of her whaling was abruptly paused when she heard someone growl loudly meters away from her. Her eye pupils dilated when she recognized the voice. Impulsively, she used her palm to shut her whaling. If she got caught, worse would happen. But this place was not even safe, to begin with. Moreover, being in the forest past midnight, was not the safest place as the creatures were mostly active at that time.

She was overly afraid.

But her rage was dangerously high.

She couldn't believe that she was betrayed by the people she most trusted. Such an act could not be forgiven. They couldn't be forgiven after committing such a sinful act.

" She ran this way!" a voice shouted, which was followed by a loud crumbling of the half-rotten leaves.

Hearing this, her heart almost skipped a beat after realizing they were nearby. And she knew if she stayed here she would be caught and would not be able to survive, once they would get their hands on her.

After all, she was an outcast and no one would notice her disappearance.

Because they did not even notice her existence and her disappearance would not be a bother to anyone. All of this, made her realize the fact that she was alone.

She plucked up all of her energy in order to help herself rise, because if she didn't help herself, then no one would.

Slightly stumbling to her feet when she got up, she sprinted to a place where she was one hundred percent sure that it was safe, and no one, especially at night, would go there after hearing the myth that was spread across the town.

She knew the consequences of visiting such a place at night would not be good, but not all myths are true. And considering the fact that she was being chased by those imbeciles who called themselves 'humans', she did not even hesitate to go in there.

_______________________________________

It really was spooky,

The graveyard was covered with light gray fog, which was a perfect match for the girl's hair color. And by the looks of it, she could perfectly hide there. Knowing all too well that 'they' wouldn't come here. Even if they did, they would not be able to spot any difference when there is a fog that matches the girl's hair color perfectly.

Her head changed directions as she began going further into the graveyard. She was here, and why not check up on 'him'? after all, 'he' would be very happy to see her, since, she hasn't visited him for weeks already.

Excitement took over her body just by thinking of meeting him again after weeks. She took her time walking since she had to store her energy If there were some unwanted moments. Her eyes wandered around the place, and not really looking at where she was going, she accidentally crashed into a two meters giant statue. Making the statue stumble and lose its footing, which soon would be crashing to the floor.

When the statue collided with the grey concrete, it made a huge crashing sound which was followed by a large amount of dust immersing the place.

She closed her eyes tightly shut in order to prevent the dusted air to go in her eyes, the last thing she wanted was to get herself blind by the dusted air.

" I heard something coming from here!"

She froze.

She couldn't let them catch her now, not after all that torture she had gone through in order to run away from them. And she clearly was not willing to let them get away without giving them the taste of their own medicine.

She wanted revenge and would not let herself die without completing her task.

Her energy was already drained, and the fact that she had to run, made it impossible for her to think properly.

Anxiety and panic began taking their place in her mind, making her mind darken by a dark fog. Preventing her to think properly as her breathing turned unstable.

" I-I can't...!"

She shook her head in denial. She could not accept the fact that she could not think properly in order to help herself out of such a terrific situation. Her heart throbbed in fear after perceiving the fact that she could not think of any solution that could possibly save her butt from the danger which was slowly catching up to her.

She has never felt so threatened before.

Even more, tears began sliding down her red swollen cheeks. Making the scratches located on her face, smolder with pain.

At this point, she felt like giving up. Giving up on living, giving up on taking revenge, and giving up on her promise...

...Promises...

It seems like promises are meant to be broken, not fulfilled.

Then, what is the point of promising if they will be broken, sooner or later?

" I...I'm sorry...big brother...!" She mumbled as she dug her palms into the gray concrete, making her already scratched-up fingers get cut and start to bleed.

Her voice broke as her tears welled up in her eyes, turning into a ball, making it impossible for her eyes to hold them in before they spilled from their place. She felt like a failure. She closed her eyes tightly shut, wanting to calm down as she took a deep, yet shaky breath.

It sounded impossible for her to calm down in such a situation. All of her negative emotions united together, making her overwhelmed. At this point, she would rather die than experience such a thing over and over again.

' I saved you because you deserve to live, older sister!'

The manly sentence echoed in her mind, making her hold her breath for a second before exhaling softly and calmly as she returned to her senses. She took a closer look at herself, and seeing the pitiful state she was in, made her realize that this was not even something someone should cry about. Someone like her should not cry about such a moment because all of this was normal to someone like her. Considering the fact that no one liked her, she should have expected such an outcome to take its place.

Yet, what did she do?

The complete opposite of what she should have done. She was supposed to be cautious before such a scene would take its place.

Nonetheless, it all was useless since what is done is done, and she could not do anything about it in order to fix such a mistake.

She sighed, knowing all too well that if she did not get up and move from her current place, later or not, they would find her, and worse would happen to her.

Her eyes were almost shrunk in because of so much crying, making it almost impossible to see. Nevertheless, she was used to such moments, which did not burden her that much anymore.

'I will make sure that I will never fall down again'

An unknown glint sparkled in her almost shrunken eyes,

She had finally found the spark that made her determined, the first spark that motivated her in getting up, and complete her once-impossible task.

Revenge.
