Crabby Girl

"So, you two, how's your first day going?" Yang asked as she looks at her younger siblings, only to receive a glare from Ruby and a smile from Jin.

"Oh, nothing much. Except of the fact that Ruby exploded a few seconds later after you ditched us."

"Yikes! Meltdown already? Sorry for ditching you, I guess." Yang winced.

"You.....! Someone could take a lesson on how to be a responsible elder sister from you! Speaking of which, where were you?! You abandoned us!" Ruby ranted, which made Yang turn away from her while whistling.

"I literally exploded a hole in front of the school! And there was some fire, and I think some ice...STOP GRINNING! IT'S NOT FUNNY!"

Yang didn't even notice that she was grinning, and she immediately stopped before smiling broadly, "Sorry, but are you being sarcastic?"

Ruby scoffed, "I wish! I tripped over some crabby girl's luggage, and then she yelled at me, and then I sneezed, and then I exploded, and then she yelled at me again, and I felt really really bad, and I just wanted her to stop yelling at me!"

During her small rant, the siblings didn't notice Weiss standing behind them, listening to everything Ruby just said. Weiss then became annoyed by a one particular comment about her.

'Crabby?! How dare that little runt!' She thought while glaring at the red riding hood.

But if Ruby heard her thoughts, the red cloaked girl might lash out at Weiss for calling her 'little runt'.

'Sure I can be a bit difficult, but I'm not crabby! My aunts are crabby, not me! And when I was yelling at her, all I did was inform her about Dust!' Weiss thought again before smirking at an idea.

'Fine, if she thinks I'm crabby, then I'll show her how crabby I can be!'

With that, Weiss began to march towards the bickering siblings. Jin sensed someone approaching them and he finally saw who it was.

"Um, Rubes?" Jin pointed at Weiss, who was just behind her. But Ruby ignored him, and Weiss had a vindictive smirk for some reason before turning her eyes into a 'glare'.

"You!" Weiss yelled.

"EEEK!" Ruby was frightened and she quickly jumped into Yang's arms Scooby-doo style, and was practically clinging on to her neck for dear life.

"Oh god, it's happening again!"

"You're lucky we weren't blown off the side of the cliff!" Weiss yelled again while pointing at the frightened girl.

Yang turned to Ruby in surprise, "Oh my god, you really exploded..."

"It was an accident!" Ruby said as she shakily got off from Yang's arms and stood on the ground before continuing.

"It was an accident. It really was an accident! I promise, I didn't-.."

As Ruby was protesting, she was suddenly silenced at the response of Weiss, who took out a pamphlet that was titled, 'Dust for dummies and other Inadequate Individuals', from her sleeve and held in it front of the horribly confused Ruby.

"What's this?.....Dummies?! Isn't that a little..."

"The Schnee Dust Company is not responsible for any injuries or damages sustained while operating a Schnee Dust Company product. Although not mandatory....."

Weiss rambled on with a long policy speech, and to Ruby, it was really fast and her voice was getting squeaky, and she didn't understand anything at all and she just blinked twice in silence.

Jin and Yang just looked at the white haired girl in slight awe at how Weiss memorized that stupid policy.

"Uuhhh...?"

"You really wanna start making things up to me?"

Ruby looked skeptical, "Absolutely?"

Weiss then handed the pamphlet to Ruby, "Read this, and don't ever speak to me again!"

"Like that's gonna help." Jin muttered under his breath, but unfortunately Weiss heard him and she turned to his direction.

"YOU!"

"Nice to see you too." Jin said with a smile, which only pissed her off even more.

"I'm going to-.."

"Look, uh, it sounds like you three just got off on the wrong foot. Why don't you start over and try to be friends, okay?" Yang suddenly cuts Weiss off.

She knew that Weiss was just going to scream at her brother, and her brother would only try to piss the girl off more, and she really doesn't want to see that. This would just cause a headache for her.

"Yeah! Great idea, sis!" Ruby said as she puts the pamphlet away before clearing up her throat and reaching out her hand for a handshake.

"Hello Weiss! I'm Ruby! Wanna hang out? We can go shopping for school supplies and-.."

"Yeah! And we can paint our nails and try on new clothes and talk about cute boys, like tall, dark and handsome over there." Weiss sarcastically said in interruption as she pointed at Jin, who just looks at her with a raised eye brow.

Ruby brightened up, "Wow, really?!"

Weiss just gave a glare while crossing her arms, "No."

"Wow, I never thought I was able to capture the interest of you, Princess." Jin spoke out.

"Quiet you! And what do mean by that?" Weiss asked and Jin gave her an amused smile.

"You describe me as a tall and handsome guy. Are you perhaps interested in having a date with me?"

Hearing that, the sisters had the look of surprise as they looked at Jin. They never thought that their brother was interested in girls, since he would practically put all of them in the friend zone back when he was in Signal.

In those days, Jin had alot of fangirls, obviously because of him being a talented and cool individual, and mostly because he was a handsome young man with dashing looks and a well-honed body of steel.

Many even confessed to him and took the initiative to ask him out, but he would politely turn them down. But that still didn't stop his fangirls from chasing after him.

Ruby then became uncomfortable in how her brother was looking at Weiss. She felt that his brother was really looking at Weiss with interest, and this made her feel bitter for some reason.

Weiss had a good look on Jin's face and then at his moderately open chest. She was flustered as her face then turned red in embarassment and anger. She comically opened her mouth as she letted out some stuttering sounds.

"W-Wh-W-Wha-Wh-a-t..."

"Oh my..." Yang lowly said with a big smile. If Jin was really interested in this girl, then she found herself a sister-in-law that she could endlessly tease, while Ruby was having a sour look towards Weiss.

The white haired girl tried her best to calm her beating heart and compose herself. She would never have herself be taken advantage by this kind of man.

"W-w-why would I-.."

Her dialogue was then interrupted by the loud sound of a microphone being tested. Everyone in the assembly area of the Amphitheater, silenced themselves and turned to the source. They all saw Professor Ozpin, the headmaster himself, as well as Glynda besides him.

"I'll....keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction."

Ozpin could hear murmurs among the crowd but he continued, "You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step."

Ozpin ended his speech before walking away. Glynda then steps up to the microphone and she announced.

"You will gather in the ballroom tonight; tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed."

After that, she left. The students also did their thing and began to leave towards their own places before going into the ballroom later.

The siblings, plus a white haired girl, were still standing as they looked at each other and began to talk among themselves.

"He seemed kinda.....off." Yang spoke.

Ruby followed up, "It's almost like he wasn't even there."

"He said it weirdly, but I don't care. At least he's honest and gets straight to the point, that's gotta count for something." Jin said.

Weiss crossed her arms, "I don't think it does. Not in this case at least."

The four of them stood together in silence, wondering what was with Ozpin when he made that speech. His speech wasn't really welcoming for the new students.

The silence only lasted for a few seconds before Yang broke it, "So..."

"Hey, your name's Weiss right? So are you going to date my brother or not? He seemed to be very interested in you." She said with a big grin on her face.

The result was instantaneous: Weiss jumped and looked at Yang with a bright blush on her face, while Ruby was sizing Weiss up with a vigilant look.

"Hey, I'm still single. And I know that you definitely don't have a boyfriend, so I'm still open." Jin said.

Seeing her brother accepting and joining in on the fun, Yang's grin reached to her ear, "Yeah! You have to know that Jin was chased by many girls in Signal, but he wasn't interested in any them. Now, that he's finally interested in dating someone, it may be love at first sight!"

Hearing that, Weiss blushed even more, "S-s-shut up! W-why would I spend some time alone with that scum!"

"Come on, how come you say you don't like it even though you didn't try it yet ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)." Yang said with a maniac's grin.

"I-I don't like it here, its too hot! I-I'll be on my way now!" Weiss said in a panic as she made up a random reason to get herself out of the situation.

With that, Weiss hurriedly scurried away from the siblings, while the trio just watched her leaving figure with a Smirking/Amused/Wary face.
