Bandit Life

Raven explained that her semblance allowed her to create portals to those she'd bonded with. To me this was old news and I simply nodded my head without really listening. But something she said caught me off guard. It turns out that the bond can be a one way thing and doesn't rely on the other person having feelings for Raven. Basically like having one sided feelings for your sempai.

After observing me as a child, she formed a natural bond with me without my knowledge and that was how she was opening all those portals around me when we fought in the Emerald Forest.

I was honestly surprised by that fact as I thought it would be hard for someone like Raven who believes in "Survival of Fittest" to develop such maternal instincts considering what she did to Yang. But it wasn't my place to question her parenting skills.

After a while the topic shifted to what my semblance was capable of, and after a little probing I discovered that all she knew about it was that I was capable of creating powerful weapons out of thin air. She had no idea about the hollow mask or my Sharingan. She also didn't know about me being able to use the Yamato and its abilities. And I'd like to keep it that way.

When she asked about my reinforcements I told her it was just my aura boosting my physical abilities. She seemed skeptical about what I told her but with nothing to base her suspicions on she let it go.

I asked her what her plans for the future were, and all she said was I'd learn in time.

From this short interaction, we could both tell that we holding secrets back from each other. But what Raven didn't know was that I already knew about some of the secrets she was hiding. I knew about Salem and relics. I also knew about Ozpin's reincarnation ability and the power of the silver eyes.

After asking about Yang's location, Raven kicked me out of the tent and told me to sleep with the other bandits.

Of course I wasn't gonna do such a thing, so I used the Yamato when no one was looking and returned back to my room in Beacon.

I also texted the girls that I wouldn't be around for the next two days. It turned out Yang had been looking for me all day because she thought Raven had kidnapped me, but calmed down when I told her that I just got lost and came back today. Apparently Blake hadn't told anyone about yesterday's activities, so I decided that for the sake of my story I'd stay quiet.

Returning to camp the next day, Emiya hung around with the bandits and even started memorizing some of their names. Even the unsociable Vernal took quite a liking to him. Although he could swear that he saw her eyeing his body from time to time.

Raven mostly kept to herself and was either stuck in her tent or talking about the dust shipment arriving the next day with Vernal.

With nothing better to do, Emiya decided to go rob a shop with a couple of other bandits.

"Stick em up!" Bandit 1 yelled at the store clerk while holding him at gunpoint.

"Now open the till and give my associate here the money." He said pointing to another bandit.

'How cliché.'

Seeing that I wasn't really needed, I started taking a look around the shop and took a couple of drinks, sweets, porn mags and anything else that could fit in my pocket. Once I was done taking everything that I could, I caught sight of the bandits knocking the clerk out before signalling to me that it was time to go.

On the way out I ran into someone I hadn't seen in a while.

Telling the bandits that I'd meet them back at camp, I snuck up behind the figure and wrapped my arms around her in surprise.

"Who!"

Planting a kiss on her lips, Emiya stopped her from saying another word.

After a full minute had passed, the two separated with Emiya smiling at his partner.

"Hello Cindy."

Realizing that it was Emiya, a small smirk appeared on Cinder's face.

"Hello Emiya."

"Where's metal legs and bitch face McGee?" Emiya asked noticing that Emerald and Mercury were missing.

Smiling at his actions, Cinder said. "They've busy doing their own thing."

"That's a shame, I wanted Emerald to see us." Emiya sighed regretfully.

"Why must you tease her." Cinder said stroking his cheek.

"Because its fun." Emiya grinned.

Releasing her from his grasp, Emiya pulled out a cigarette and pointed it at her.

"Do you mind?"

Using her maiden abilities Cinder lit it for him.

Taking a puff, Emiya closed his eyes.

"So why are you here?"

"Can't a girl go out for a walk?" She smiled.

"They can, but I don't think you're the scenery enjoying type." Emiya glanced at her.

"Oh? So what type do you think I am?" She asked closing the distance between the two.

"The power hungry type." He responded.

"Hmm… Do you want to know what type of person I think you are?" She smiled mischievously.

"Sure."

"The arrogant type." She said.

"Ha, that's because I have the ability to be arrogant." Emiya laughed.

Smiling at his response, Cinder started rubbing his chest with a smile on her face.

"That may be true, but arrogance leads to failure."

Feeling the rise of heat from Cinder's palm, Emiya continued to smile.

"We'll talk about it once I fail."

"Oh? But you can't fail if you're already dead."

Feeling the temperature on his chest grow, no change in expression could be seen on his face.

"True… But I won't be dying here." He smirked.

"There's that arrogance again." She sneered.

"Oh please, if you had any confidence in beating me you'd have already tried to burn a hole through my chest." Emiya said completely relaxed.

"What makes you think I won't?" She taunted.

Sneering at her, he focused his attention on the sight behind her.

Not understanding what he was looking at, Cinder turned her head only to see a number of swords inches away from her body.

"You've been holding back on me." She said taking her hand off his chest.

Emiya shrugged.

Feeling his scroll vibrate, he noticed a message from Raven.

"Sadly I've got to end our conversation here. But maybe next time you can take me out on a proper date." Emiya said putting his scroll away.

"Shouldn't it be you taking me out?" Cinder snorted.

Emiya rolled his eyes in response. "We both know you like to be in control, so when I give it to you don't complain."

After saying that, he activated his reinforcements and ran off.
