5 Taming the Beowolf

As I was shot into the air, I used Destroyer Anubis to increase the distance from the cliff we were just on.

×Awkward situation activated×

"Wait what," I say nervously as I start to fall toward the ground.

{Based on the situation, your about to land on a girl's boobs so depending on your next actions and who you land on you can be the main character that doesn't give a shit or like Hayate,} Dest observes.

'Why did it activate now?!' I exclaim.

{Oppertune cliche moment,} Dest answers.

'Figures,' I think as I look to see gray hair in the spot I'm going to land. 'Please don't be Graylit, please don't be Graylit.'

I crash into the person face planting into a- soft fuzzy object? I fall backward onto my back to see Graylit holding a gray stuffed bunny with a very small smile on her face before it goes back to a stoic look.

"Hey Graylit," I tell her groaning as my face throbs.

"Hello Noir," Graylit responds. "You changed the color of the tips of your hair."

"Yeah it's easier to hide my 'demon of Signal' title from people that way," I say before seeing a gray compound bow and lighter gray on her back. "Anyway you use a bow?"

"Yes," Graylit answers. "The arrowheads are all made of different kinds of Dust."

She pulls out one of the arrow to show me. The top of the arrowhead was red symbolizing that the tip was made from fire Dust. The shaft of the arrow was the same color as the bow. The fletching was a dark red to presumably let her know which kind of arrow it was.

"Anyway we should probably go," Graylit says.

"Why?" I ask.

"I was being chased by a pack of Beowolves," She answers.

"So what's the problem," I say as I hear howling close by.

"There's an Alpha Beowolf in the pack," She responds. "And it's around 20 regular ones in there too."

{Your fighting that pack,} Dest quickly exclaims once he hears this.

'What?! Why?' I ask him.

{You can "Tame" Grimm you idiot,} Dest responds.

"Gotcha," I say to Graylit as I start running. 'Why the hell would I try to tame a Grimm?'

{Well for an additional ally and if you do I'll teach you the magecraft <Construct>,} Dest tells me.

"And I'm turning around," I tell Graylit as I run toward the Beowolf pack.

"Are you an idiot?" Graylit asks calmly.

"Yes," I answer. "Also how good are you at keeping secrets?"

"Very," She responds.

"Care to give me an example?" I ask.

"That would unintentionally give away one of the secrets I was told," She answers.

"Okay, then tell no one what your about to see," I tell her.

I pull out Vicious Obsidian and turn the slider to scythe mode with my thumb. The handle extends to a longer length and the blade extends to form a crescent shape. I smile and turn towards the oncoming Beowolves. I use my boots to increase my speed and cut off two of the Beowolves' heads. A arrow flies dangerously close to my face and a stone promptly embeds itself into the head of one.

"Can you avoid shooting my head off?!" I yell. "I kinda need it!"

"Don't be so worried," Graylit responds back. "I'm not a bad shot."

I jump off the stone that was in the head of one the smaller Beowolves and blast foward to the largest Beowolf with the most bone armor. Along the way I spin in a circle to easily kill more of the pack as I pass by. I kick the large Beowolf in the head knocking it backwards. I land on it as it was attempting to get back up. To prevent this I kick it in the head with a little help from my boot.

'How do I tame this thing?' I ask Dest.

{Repeat after me,} He says.

(A.N. I'm only going to write this as Noir saying it cause laziness.}

"By giving you a name I form a bond as equal allies who fight on the same side, I offer power but in return I request servitude, and so I give you the name Yuuki," I say.

The Beowolf started to shrink down to the size of a large wolf and took on more wolflike features as it slowly went on all fours. It then turned into an amulet.

{Congrats you now have an Alpha Armored Wolf ally with the potential to evolve if the right conditionsare met,} Dest says. {And let me uphold my side of the deal, to use <Construct> imagination is key. It basically works like a Lanterns' powers in DC comics.}

'Got it, now explain to me why my Wolf turned into an amulet?!'

{To recover and as a storage fuction, you'll be able to use it in a day or you can use it's small form in an hour. Now help your teammate, she's about to get hit.}

"Watch out!" I yell.

Graylit just calmly drew a red fletched arrow and stabbed the Beowolf in the head. There was a resulting explosion in the shape of a flower taking out the rest of the pack as she walked toward me without flinching.

"Neverming," I say as I see this. "10 points for a cool finish."

"Care to explain what you just did?" Graylit demands.

"No," I joke as I ask Dest in a panic. 'How do I explain that? And was Ozpin watching me?'

{Calm down tell her about your magecraft and no I interfered with Ozpin's cameras the moment I told you to tame it,} Dest answers.

'Great cause when Cinder hacks into Beacon I want my abilities to remain a secret,' I tell him then answer Graylit's question seriously. "That was magic, actually to be specific it was magecraft."

"Magic?" Graylit says with a head tilt. "Like in the story of the Four Maidens?"

"No, magecraft is way more powerful with less restrictions," I say. "In the story of the Four Maidens it says only four people at a time can use magic and they have to be maidens, with magecraft as long as you have a teacher and a Mage Crest you can use it."

"I don't believe you," Graylit says.

"Alright in the story the maidens' can make certain specific elements from nothing right?" I say. "Well, watch this."

I grab a random stick from the ground and chant. "<Trace on> <Reinforce>"

I grab a rock and smash the stick against it. Instead of the stick breaking the rock did, earning a small gasp from Graylit.

"See," I say while starting to walk off. "What I just did was observe the structure of the stick and reinforce it to make it stronger, anyway we should go, I think the feedback that my magic caused has stopped."

"Agreed," Graylit says following me. "My sister is very close to us."

"How do you know?!" I exclaim in surprise.

"Twin thing," She simply answers.

"So that's what I feel," I say in realization. "The twin thing."

"You have a twin too?!" a bright and cheery voice exclaims from a tree.

"There she is," Graylit says.

"Twilight?! How long have you been there," I ask.

"Just now," She answers. "And I found a buddy."

"Hi Noir," Hayate says meekly.

"You already met, that's great!" Twilight says. "Anyway about your twin."

"Her name is Ruby," I say as a Nevermore flys overhead. "And I'm 99.9% certain that was her flying on that Grimm."

"That looks fun," Twilight says.

"I know right," I respond. "We should follow."

"Are you two crazy?!" Hayate says. "Your Twilight's sister, talk her out of it."

"I've learned to let her be crazy," Graylit tells Hayate. "It hurts less."

I pull out a clip of Explosion Dust shells and replace the clip on my boots.

"Everyone grab on," I say.

When everyone is hanging on me, I stomp the ground and blast into the air.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

"Hey Ruby," I say as we land on the back of the Nevermore. "Hi Weiss!"

"Hey bro," Ruby says. "Who are they?"

"Well the girl in grey is my partner, Graylit Lumos," I tell her. "The one with the multiple hair colors is her sister, Twilight, and you met her partner, Hayate, yesterday.

"Hi everyone," Ruby calls out. "We should jump off now."

"What are you insane?!" Weiss exclaims in fear.

"I agree with her," Hayate says. "You all must be crazy!"

"Well either jump or stay on and become Grimm food," I respond. "It's your move."

I jump off the Nevermore into a group of trees and crash into a roll on the ground in front of a circular platform with pillars of chess pieces. I hold out my arms and catch Twilight. Hayate faceplants into the ground beside me with Graylit landing on him. Ruby slides into place on my other side.

"Hey you guys made it," Yang says with Blake right beside her.

"Hi Noir," Blake says with a look of envy directed at Twilight.

"Hi sis," I say. "Hey Blake, how's it been?"

"Hi Yang," Ruby cheerfully says as Jaune and Pyhra arrive out of the woods.

"Hi everyone," Jaune says.

Ren and Nora slide on a a dead half disintegrated Grimm.

"Hello," Ren says.

"Hi guys," Nora says happily.

"We're missing someone," I inform everyone as I hear Weiss screaming.

She crashes onto Jaune just as I finished speaking.

"There she is," I say as my ear twiches from a sound nearby. "Anyway...who was followed?"

Wiess, Ren, Nora, Twilight, and Hayate all raised their hands.

"What kind of Grimm were you followed by?" Graylit asks.

"The Nevermore you just jumped off of," Weiss answers.

"Large group of Ursa," Twilight and Hayate answer.

"Death Stalker," Ren answers.

"Well then soun~ds like a party," I say sarcastically then close my eyes and try to remember what chess pieces everyone grabbed. "Ruby get the other knight like Yang's, Ren & Jaune get the rooks, and Hayate & Graylit get the king and queen."

"Why?" Ruby asks.

"Well it feels like it would be the right decision," I say as I narrow my eyes. "Anyway do we really have time to discuss this, the Grimm are close!"

Hearing this, the people I told to get the chess pieces ran and got them then rejoined the group.

"Alright, Jaune, Nora, Pyhra, and Ren deal with the Death Stalker, Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang you four deal with the Nevermore," I instruct. "Me, Graylit, Hayate, and Twilight will handle the hoard of Ursa."

"How are we going to get up to the Nevermore, Noir? It's flying," Yang asks.

"No duh Yang," I say. "Ruby your team is going to go on the part of the bridge closest to the mountain, Jaune your team is going to be on the bridge as well but you'll be closer to land."

"What about you guys?" Useless asks me.

"We're using the forest," Graylit assumes. "Because it has plenty of cover for me to use my weapon and provides Twilight with points of ambush."

"Speaking of Twilight, what weapon do you use?" I ask.

Twilight pulls out two black daggers with white specks on them and with a uncommon (I'm guessing) serious look on her face says. "These were our mother's daggers which she named Midnight's Illumination, she used these back when she was a Huntress."

"Okay, I just asked what weapon you used," I say. "Now's not the time for the back story."

"Noir! Be polite," Ruby yells at me.

"Sorry, it's just that the Grimm are extremely close and we don't have the time," I respond. "Anyway we should split now and Ruby and Jaune make sure to plan a strategy for your groups."

When they've gone out of my sight I turn around to see Graylit with literal clouds in her eyes.

"Okay Twilight explain," I command.

"That's what happens when her semblance activates," Twilight explains.

"Can she control it?" I ask.

"No," Twilight answers. "It activates whenever it wants."

"Really? Sounds inconvenient," I say.

"Usually it is," Twilight says.

"WHY DID YOU LET THAT SCHNEE GO WITH YOU SISTER?!" Graylit suddenly yells.

"Graylit did you just yell?" Twilight responds happily.

"What did you see?" I ask.

"There was a summon from a glyph," Graylit says. "And as we know only the Schnees can use Glyphs it's their family semblance."

"What if I tell you that I can use them too?" I ask.

"You have two semblances?! And furthermore one is one that can be used by the Schnees?" Twilight yells.

"Amazing," Graylit says back to her normal self.

"What?!" Hayate says.

ROOOAAAARRRRR! When we heard this sound we turn around to see the group of Ursa coming at us.

"Let's discuss this later," I say. 'Guess I'll let Ozpin see this.'

{That's good,} Dest says. {Cause I stopped blocking Ozpin's cameras as soon as yku put Viscous Obsidian up.}

I just crack my knucles and say, "This is going to be fun."
