22 Village problems

The sky was slightly clouded over with the broken moon shining down the land. The stars above seemed like glistening gems in a sea of black with a single streak of faint cloudy pink line in the sky. The town below is dark with only a few lights lit.

- Akari pov -

The sun had set and Raziel still hadn't come back to the inn. I had my [shroud] up, waiting for him to arrive, but the moon was fully in the sky. I got up and gathered my gear before I opened the window and left it slightly open. I started to travel in the back alleyways.

If Raziel was taken I imagine it is that church-like building in the middle, everyone knows you never trust a priest with a kid. I know Raziel isn't a pushover and unless it's a trained fighter he can probably fight off anyone from this village.

While thinking this I had made great distance and now in front of me stood the tall stone church. The windows had been bordered up and the stairs leading to the front door had the snow pushed off it. As if someone had been inside or outside. Could be both.

Using my semblance, I send out threads of webs to the roof pulling myself up. I walk slowly across the snow on the roof. Step by step I keep on moving further across the roof till I reach a part of the window that has its wooden plank fallen off letting me peek inside.

Looking down the church, the vision I had was tiny but I could still see the silhouette of a figure sitting down in the middle of the room. The figure was unmoving like a dead body but in the cold, a small bit of breath escaped the mouth of the person showing him.

Making some string from hand to hand form, I start to saw away at the wooden planks making little to no noise. After half a minute two planks had been cut off giving me room to slide in. Taking a moment to prepare myself, I look down towards the figure in the darkness.

Sliding inside I start to form a platform atop the roof giving me something to walk across. Letting myself fall through one of the holes I lowered myself towards the figure. I string a few webs in the room from pillar to pillar.

Landing behind him not a single sound could be heard as my voice spoke out, the room was in rubles. The build of the figure was masculine but even the heavy clothing the person wore couldn't hide the malnourishment that plagued his body.

"Excuse me, have you seen a small child not from around here lately?" Akari asks with a calm voice as to not scare him.

Turning his head around the face of the man was full of large holes with a black rash covering some parts of his skin. Taking a step back I ready myself for anything but all that happens is the figure opens his mouth

"Are you here to help me?" The man's voice was ruff and cold.

His hair was blond reaching his mouth in length but seemed to have not been washed in years but wasn't greasy. He had some stubble but was patchy and the teeth shown were rotten black. His eyes were slightly red while the pupil seemed dull.

"No, just looking for a small child then I'll get you a meal. How about that?" Akari said as she took a step forward glaring at the man.

"I didn't hear of a new person, why wasn't I informed?" The man spoke not to Akari as his head rolled to the side, each word got more and more venomous till his eyes were full of anger.

After saying this the body starts to stand up each step seemed like its whole body would collapse but it still moved. Its eyes turned towards me but I felt nothing, no soul or at least a soul so weak it seemed to have been choked to the size of a candle.

As soon as I tried to say something the man dived towards me his speed was insane as in a second he was almost atop me. His mouth was wide open with something squirming around but that was the only detail I could see before my instinct went into overdrive. The body of the man fell right into a web of mine splitting in half from head to belly button.

After relaxing for a second the man starts to form again with a black liquid almost seeming to sew him back together. Seeing the man start to come back together I didn't stop the attacks, making more webs around him from roof to floor. From wall to wall he had five webs around him trapping him in place.

The black parts of the body had now healed him fully of any injuries after a second of readying myself the figure started to bite at the web. After two chomps of his jaw, the web snapped in half. Having a full view of it makes my heart start to beat faster.

Making a web in front of me I start to place small webs all over the place to use as both traps and places to step in combat. Seeing what the man could do and the figure he had it is most likely a Grimm I have never seen. It could be an out of control semblance but he had no [shroud] up with little to no soul.

While thinking all of this, the Grimm had freed itself as it let out a low growl as it started to rush toward me each step it took the eyes dashed around looking at each web. The Grimm made sure not to run into a web jumping from pillar wall when getting around them the clock falls off showing the disfigured body of the Grimm.

Half of his body was half black with the same skin as a Grimm but some of it was still human-like it did seem like unhealthy skin but apart from that its overall form. The arms of the Grimm started to turn from their human form into the arms of a Beowolf. its legs turned goat-like with the black fur of a Grimm.

It dashed around the room with great speed looking for any angle to attack from.
