7 Puzzle part 3

After lunch we went to one of our classes, Jaune was sleeping while a fast-talking Professor Bartholomew Oobleck was in the middle of his hyperactive lecture this teacher is super weird I tell you, Cardin Winchester directly behind Jaune, Velvet in a corner taking notes and Pyrrha giving the stink eye to Cardin.

"Yes! Yes, prior to the Faunus Rights Revolution--more popularly known as the Faunus War-humankind was quite, quite adamant about centralizing Faunus population in Menagerie." Oobleck points at the map in said-area with his stick, then takes a sip of his coffee before appearing "Now! While this must feel like ancient history to many of you, it is imperative to remember that these are relatively recent events! Why the repercussions of the uprising can still be seen to this day! Now! Have any among you been subjugated or discriminated against because of your Faunus heritage?"

Some of the Faunus students raised their hands. Velvet, after a moment, does the same, I was tempted to do the same.

"Dreadful, simply dreadful! Remember, students, it is precisely this kind of ignorance that breeds violence!" Oobleck said sad, taking another sip of his coffee, "I mean, I mean, I mean just look at what happened to White Fang! Now, which one of you young scholars can tell me what many theorize to be the turning point in the third year of the War?"

Weiss taking the chance to answer said question, "The battle at Fort Castle!"

Oobleck praises her, "Precisely! And, who can tell me the advantage the Faunus had over General Lagune's forces?"

Unseen only by the professor, Cardin flicks a paper ball at Jaune's head, causing him to wake up.

Jaune exclaims, "Hey!"

Oobleck looks over to Jaune, "Mr. Arc! Finally contributing to class! This is excellent! Excellent! What is the answer?"

Jaune getting nervous not knowing what to answer, "Uhhhh... The answer... The advantage... that the Faunus..." behind Oobleck's, Pyrrha tries to charade the answer, "...had over that guy's stuff..." he sees Pyrrha cup her hands around her eyes and goes for the most obvious answer, "Uhh... Binoculars!?"

"God damn it Jaune," I muttered to myself, how can he expect to improve when he is not even paying attention to class.

While Jaune looks pleased with his answer, the class laughs at him and. Pyrrha sighs and slaps a hand to her forehead as Cardin pounds his fist on his desk while chortling.

Oobleck seeing this turns to look at Cardin, "Very funny, Mr. Arc! Cardin! Perhaps you would care to share your thoughts on the subject!"

Cardin being the racist bastard he answers the question the only way he knows, "Well, I know it's a lot easier to train an animal than a soldier."

"I think I was clear the last time, bastard," I stand up my desk anger building up, I can feel my tail under my clothes ruffling up, I just want to tear the bastard apart.

"You think I'm scared, bring it on!" Cardin stands up too.

Pyrrha looks at Cardin, "You're not the most open-minded of individual, are you, Cardin?"

Cardin looks at Pyrrha "What? You also got a problem?"

Pyrrha looks at him and smiles, "No, I have the answer! It's night vision. Many Faunus are known to have nearly-perfect sight in the dark."

Cardin growls at the correct response.

"Not only you are a racist, but a stupid one at that," I said sitting back on my desk.

Blake also looking like she had enough stands up to add more information to the answer, "General Lagune was inexperienced and made the mistake of trying to ambush the Faunus in their sleep. His massive army was outmatched, and the general was captured." she then turns to Cardin, "Perhaps if he'd paid attention in class, he wouldn't have been remembered as such a failure."

Oobleck as Cardin gets up from his seat, fist clenched, "Mr. Winchester! Please take your seat... Mr. Winchester and Mr. Arc you can both see me after class for additional readings, and Mr. Stark, please don't start fights in my class or you will get an invitation for the reading."

When the lesson ends, Pyrrha, Nora, Ren and I come out of the classroom, only for Pyrrha to stop near the doorway.

"Got it," I said trying to calm down as I headed to my room, our team's room.

Jack looked up at the moon, he somehow felt happy, two years ago two people join him, two possible enemies, that ended up being part of his family, little by little more orphans joined him, making a somewhat big group.

Jack was now twelve years old, Hope was four years old, Lapis and Lazuli were both fifteen years old, and the other kids varied in ages, some older some younger, while Jack was the most mature one in the entire group, the twins the first ones to join took to their hearts the fact they were older and treated Jack and Hope as their little siblings.

A gentle yet clod breeze softly stroked Jack's wolf ears sending a tingly feeling that made the fur on his tail ruffle up. "Hm?" He furrowed his eyebrows at the faint unpleasant smell riding on that breeze, his entire body was shouting at him to run, his animal instincts to escape.

Hope began to fret on her bed, perhaps sensing the sudden change in the atmosphere, or perhaps she was just having a nightmare, regardless of which option was, Hope, woke up crying.

"There, there." Jack soothingly tried to calm his sister, his eyes stayed focused on the moon. The wind blew once more, this time smelling like death.

Hope still crying on his brothers arms started to calm slowly.

"Don't cry, Hope. Your big brother will protect you, no matter what." Jack said at that simple promise made Hope calm down, to feel safe.

"I had a nightmare," Hope said cleaning her tears.

"It's okay, let big bro take care of it," Jack said holding his sister tight.

'Something's coming,' Jack thought, at this point, he was sure something bad was approaching but what.

Lapis and Lazuli woke up maybe because they felt what he felt or because Hope was crying, regardless they were awake standing beside him.

[FLASHBACK ENDS]

When I got to my room, I sat down and took out my scroll, sending a message to someone very important to me, it's been a while since I contacted this person and since I knew that hacking the scrolls was super easy keeping it quiet was the best.

[School is fine, I hope you're behaving yourself,] - Jack

[---Yes, but I miss you very much when are you coming to visit me?] - ???

[Soon, I still have stuff to learn here, let me know if you need anything,] - Jack

[Alright, :C ] - ???

[Bye, take care.] - Jack

Nora entered the room slamming the door wide open, she rushed to me and grabbed my arm pulling me very close to her, "YOU ARE COMING WITH NORA BABY! TO HAVE SOME PANCAKES TO TASTE GLORY REN MAMA WANTS SOME FUEL AND MAKE IT DOUBLE!!"

"WTF!" I shouted as Nora carried me to the kitchen, it was a bad idea-sharing with her I haven't eaten pancakes in years.

"IF HES NOT COMING TO VISIT ME THEN I WILL GO TO VISIT HIM! WHAT A WAY TO NEGLECT HIS ONLY SISTER!" Hope shouted in determination while making up her bags, her big brother only told her that she needed to stay away for a bit, but he never gave her a reason for it, he was always cryptic about everything, "If he thinks he can get a girlfriend without my approval he has another thing coming! besides, I have to teach his possible girlfriend how to give him his medicines, it only works if you put it inside of a meatball, otherwise, it is impossible, and don't even get me started when it is time to get vaccinated, she needs a boot camp for this!"
