Chapter 9

Caleb was walking in the forest still feeling a slight pain in his body after the blow he received from the goliath. He was heading for the clearing when he heard movement in the bushes and trees around him. He stopped for a moment to look around but saw nothing suspicious, probably the wind blowing the leaves.

He finally arrived in the clearing where he could see his rock. He walked over to the rock when he saw something rushing towards him. He jumped back, narrowly dodging the projectile that came crashing down in front of him.

He looked at what had just been thrown at him and saw a rock sink into the ground and then a huge roar sounded in the air.

He turned his head and that's when he saw it.

A huge grimm with the appearance of a gorilla, he was easily twice the size of Caleb. He appeared through the trees and bushes and entered the clearing then roared again while banging his chest with his fists.

Caleb had already seen grimms like him in his old life, if he remembers correctly these grimms were called Beringel but this one seemed much bigger than what he had seen before.

The question he asked himself was how did a grimm like him come to be here? Was he part of the horde or was he all alone and if so, had he followed him here to attack him?

The beringel roared again clearly showing his desire to fight, caleb on his side got on his two hind legs and also let out a roar as powerful as possible meaning "Do you want to fight? Approach you damn oversized monkey!"

The two grimms charged at each other simultaneously.

In the village the chief stood at the top of the ramparts with the rest of the men equipped with the new firearms. One of the men approached him to report.

"Chief! All explosives are in place as planned!"

"Perfect now we just have to wait for the grimms to come."

As he said this, several cries echoed in the forest and many grimms emerged from through the trees and then the goliath appeared in turn.

"Here they come! Everyone in position!"

all the men took up firing position ready to receive the order to open fire.

"Hei! Chief! Didn't you tell us there were a lot more?" said one of the men

Hearing this the leader looked at the horde more carefully and noticed that it had diminished considerably from when he had seen it on the plain.

He thought for a moment before realizing something.

' Don't tell me he...."

He shook his head to refocus on the impending danger.

"Now Chief!" Asked one of the men who held a detonator in his hands.

" Not now!" replied the chief.

he looked at the horizon, seeing the horde approaching quickly and especially the goliath which was much slower.

" chief ..."

"Wait....wait....wait...NOW!!!"

The man activated the detonator triggering a huge explosion below where the goliath was, killing him instantly and several other grimms.

"Open fire!"

All the men fired at the grimms who were still alive.

In the clearing the fierce fight continued between caleb and the beringel, fortunately for him the beringel was slower which allowed him to dodge his blows because if he received one it could do him a lot of damage given their difference in raw power .

The beringel was trying to run over caleb who was much faster and kept moving. After a while caleb saw an opening in the defense of the beringel and took the opportunity to rush under his legs and leave a big scratch there, forcing the beringel to put one knee on the ground.

Caleb didn't stop there and jumped on his back then lacerated him several times, the beringel screamed in pain and got up then wanted to crash his back against the big rock with caleb between the two but he saw him do it and jumped on top avoiding being crushed.

He landed in front of the beringel but did not have time to see the punch that hit him full force, causing him to roll several meters on the ground.

The beringel growled proud to have succeeded in giving him a blow, caleb for his part recovered with difficulty after the blow he had just received, as he expected the difference in strength was great, he had to finish this fight quickly otherwise the thing could get really complicated.

He started to run straight towards the beringel who did the same and raised his arms ready to inflict a violent blow on caleb but when the blow was about to touch him caleb jumped to the side dodging the blow then jumped on the arm of the Beringel and with a sharp blow planted his claws in his eye making him scream in pain again.

The beringel shook his head in all directions to make Caleb fall but he did not let go of his grip and managed to pass behind him then with his other hand he grabbed the upper jaw of the beringel and pulled with all his might.

The beringel screamed like never before and suddenly caleb ripped his head in two leaving the body and lower jaw of the beringel falling heavily to the ground. He landed right next to the Grimm's body and held the other part of his head high in the sky as he roared with all his might celebrating his victory.

After that he dropped the jawbone of the beringel on the ground and fell in his turn completely unconscious. The beringel's body began to dissolve into black smoke and envelop Caleb's body but this time something different happened and a black sphere formed around Caleb's body.

In the village the night had passed, in the end the small village which was threatening to be decimated could see the rays of the sun the next day. The defenses suffered heavy damage but all the grimms ended up killed and the villagers relieved.

The village chief was about to leave the village at the first light of the sun.

"Chief where are you going?" one of the men asked.

"I need to check something! The horde was clearly small when it arrived in the village, the beowolf must have something to do with it!"

"Wait what!"

The chief did not answer him and left immediately followed by some men in the direction of the clearing. When they arrived they saw battle marks all over the place.

"What the hell is that?!?" one of the men exclaimed, pointing at the black sphere.

All the others turned towards the sphere to see for themselves the presence of the strange thing.

"What exactly is this thing?" one of the men asked.

The leader on his side looked around the clearing but saw the beowolf nowhere.

Suddenly the sphere moved putting all the men on the alert.

" What was that !"

They all started backing up as the sphere moved more and more until it exploded completely spreading black smoke everywhere.

When the smoke cleared they all looked towards where the sphere was and their eyes widened in shock when they saw a grimm the size of a goliath, he looked a lot like a beowolf but was much more muscular with less prick on his back. his back but had what looked like a spine on his back and his arms were completely covered in bone with a smaller mask over his face.

"What the hell is this grimm?!?"
