20 Pain

----Clark POV----

I'm in my study room and it's already past midnight still trying to analyze some paper again and again. I glance at my desk and have a pile of paper needed to do. I sigh...

"Guess I might do an all-nighter tonight," I say in frustration.

As I focus on my work, I suddenly hear a voice grumping in pain. What the... I stop in the middle of my work and head outside to see what's happening.

As I was walking in the hallway, Stephanie's room caught my attention. What the... I walk toward it slowly. I was already outside the door, making it more clear to hear her. Wait... Is she? I went in right away without knocking.

"Ugh..." Stephanie was laying in her bed shrieking in pain on her left thigh leg as she was trying to touch it to ease the pain. I quickly went to her.

"Are you having an episode?" I ask confusedly.

"Do I look like I'm not?" Stephanie says bearing the pain while tries to make a joke even though she's burning in pain. You even have the energy to joke at such time...

I walk towards her and guide her to sit upon the bed.

"Heavy..." I say coldly.

"Shut up..." She says annoyingly as she grabs on me trying to sit up on her bed.

Now Stephanie's all sit up, she's still burning in pain. I sigh... This is such a trouble.

"I'll go get some water."

"Thanks..." She says weakly.

As I tried to reach the door, I sense someone outside. Who is this person lurking around? I quickly went outside but the person's now gone. My eyes turn sharp and look around the hallway. Hmm... I don't need to find out who that is. I'm sure that person will come to me any time soon. I smirk as turn around about to went downstairs.

After I was done getting a glass of water at the kitchen, Stephanie was sitting on the bed groaning in pain. I quickly give it to her.

"Here..." I gently pass it to her.

"Hmm..." She took it and drinks it slowly.

I sat on the chair next to her. My legs crossed also my arms while looking at her.

"What?" Stephanie stops drinking and says confusingly when she noticed me looking at her in such a way.

"Is the pain gone?" I ask coldly.

She gave me a moody face. Nevermind... I already know the answer.

"Seriously? Do you think I wouldn't be like this if the pain already is gone?" She reaches her bedside drawer to put the glass down but she's too much in pain and can't reach it. I sigh. I stand up and took the glass on her and put it on the drawer in her stead.

"Just lie down for now... Endure it for a while. It'll be gone soon." I say gently as I guide her to lie down. I brush her hair down so she could lie better.

"I wish it could be that easy..." Stephanie's voice still shaking.

She's been experiencing this when we're still kids. Stephanie said that it burns her inside her thigh and it's hard to endure it. Stephanie and I never told about this to anyone even our parents. We thought that it's just muscle pain but I stop getting that idea.

From my point of view, it isn't just muscle pain but that's what she thinks it is. How could it be a muscle pain when she's always in good health. Even though she eats a lot she never gets fat. I started to think that this is something worth giving attention to.

Of course, it's still kinda bothering me to see my sister in kind of state but she insisted that it's nothing. I just respected her decision and go through it.

"Ugh...!" Stephanie still groaning in pain. She began to sweat, feeling so hot. What the hell... I look at the air conditioner. Seriously...

"Are you really an idiot?"

----The next day----

We were having breakfast, along with mom and William. I glance at him looking unwary while playing with the food. He looks uneasy. I smirk at him.

"What's wrong? You don't like the food." Mom suddenly notices William and started worrying. Psh... Does he look like a five-year-old kid?

"Ah... No... Of course not... I'm happy..." Williams says uneasily. He still not comfortable with Mom.

As we continue eating, one of our maids went to Stephanie.

"Young Mistress, a letter." She gently passes it to her. Stephanie looks moody today, who is quiet the whole time finally pays attention to her surroundings. She and I lock eyes on the seal on the letter. We both give each other a look and stop eating. As we wipe our mouth with a napkin, we went upstairs right away.

"Hey, Where are you going...?" Mom asks confusedly about us suddenly leaving also William. We didn't answer her back and just went upstairs.

----Stephanie's POV----

As we were heading upstairs, trying to find out the letter. Damn it... He's still not giving up huh? This is getting interesting.

"I smell trouble..." I say coldly. I open the letter right away. Getting all fed up by the contents of it. I exhale trying to get ready to read it out loud.

----Letter----

Dear, My lovely future Wife

Looks like you went on a business trip yesterday along with the man I hate the most. You really don't know when to listen do you, honey? I feel so bad knowing the state you're in yesterday. I know you have a little difficulty regarding facing such a road but... I know it's just a piece of cake for you. What you can't really stand is your biggest fear! Yes, I know it... I don't want to suffer you again from that kind of again so I'll not mention. You know... I'm quite disappointed with what you did yesterday. It feels like you betrayed me. Well, I might as well let you know the consequences of angering me. I will give you guys a present you will never expect.

My eyes went blank for a moment as my knees went weak as I read the letter. I sit on the couch near us right away. I started to pant nervously.

"He... He knows... my... Fear...." I say not knowing even that kind he even knows. I can't believe it... He knows it... How... This guy... I'm really going to kill him. I say as I was gripping the letter tightly on my hands getting pissed. That's one thing I don't want to experience again.

"What fear?" A voice suddenly pops out of nowhere. I realizer that that person was eavesdropping us while I was reading the letter out loud. It's William...
