Apology Gone Wrong

The sound of the alarm woke Mia from her tiring sleep, she dressed up for her mission of seeing the black devil, wearing a casual dress, a jean, and an off-shoulder layer top, she grabbed her keys and hailed a cab to the Xander corporation.

It was 10:00 am

"The devil should have been at work" she couldn't help but mutter, she walked to the secretary, who didn't seem shocked of seeing her. Getting a glare from her, she couldn't help but mutter

"I'm not going to snatch your CEO" as she reasoned the possibility of having a contracted marriage with him.

"Shift!!" she cursed out, she couldn't bare to look at a poker-faced human throughout her lifetime. I was surprised when the secretary asked me to go in.

"Without appointments?" I asked amazed by the fact

But instead of replying she walked me to the CEO'S office

"Cold as her boss" I muttered. Forgetting to knock I entered only to see him looking up from his computer with a glare, only then did I remember I walked in without knocking, I couldn't bare offending him for the second time I went out of his cabin and entered only after I knocked.

I guess he was smiling at my mischievousness.

Though, silly me never once heard of a smiling devil

"You can do this, your apology must not go down the drain" I encouraged myself as I kept whispering to myself words of comfort.

"Come in" I heard an iced voice

I walked in and avoided making eye contact with him. Seeing me here, he wasn't surprised, it was as if he expected my arrival. I looked up at him tracing his body shape to his. Adam ape then his jaw until I got to his pink suckable lips, WTF!! was I thinking, I stared voraciously at him as we made eye contact, as I felt the urge of killing this little bastard, who was no doubt enjoying the scene before him.

"You won't apologize" My inner mind sounded confused

"I'm not sorry" my mouth blurted out the wrong words

"Shift!!" I cursed out loud enough for him to hear

"Why are you here?" his voice ranged my ears

"I'm here to a... apologize" all of a sudden I started stammering, what the hell was wrong with me".

"Then do so and don't waste my time, it's precious unlike yours," he said getting on my nerves Intentionally

"Was he born to be frustrating or he inherited it?" I couldn't help but ask myself.

"I shouldn't even be apologizing, you caused what happened and I just followed suit, Yet you are making me take the blame and proving superior to gain my apo....."

He cleared his throat and my mouth was hanging in the air only to realize what I'd said.

"You won't be employed anywhere you know?" he said with a smirk on his face as he glanced at me with his natural brown eye lens that I felt so lost in my world"

"E.. Ehm...I..." I saw someone familiar walk in.

"Sup man," Carlos said to Alex, as he looked in my direction.

"You are... Mia" he said stretching his hands to me

"Nice to meet you again," he said

"Have we met before?"

"You don't remember?"

"oh!! Mr. Carlos Marcus"

"Carlos is okay," he said winking disregarding a third party's gloomy face.

Only to notice a cold iced stare in my direction.

"Okay, Carlos, I was about leaving"

"We aren't done" I heard the devil speak

"Oh yeah"

"Chill bro, what's up with that face of yours" Carlos teased Alex who returned his teasing with a glare

"Mia, I apologize, this is how he is as he had become a close relative to the chilly pepper"

I let out a laugh only to clamp my mouth shut seeing the devil's glare

"We would talk later," he said annoyingly.

"Would there be a later for us, I hope not, most especially not with this poker-faced devil" I muttered under my breath, Only to be heard by Carlos who let out a laugh.....

"We would continue tomorrow," he said facing me

I left his cabin after bidding him a golden goodbye

"Chill man"

"Why are you here?"

"Mom sent me"

"Why?" he asked trying to confirm his thoughts

"She got a really beautiful date for you

"I will be busy"

"May I give you a suggestion?"

"What?"

"Why don't you just marry mia and free yourself from blind dates"

"Carlos, can you be more sensible?.. Me... Mia"

"Just marriage, I'm not asking you to go intimate with her like normal couples," he said teasingly

"Leave... I got a pile of files to attend to"

"Alex, think about it" he left the cabin before Alex could think of anything.

Mia P.O.V

Being jobless is so exhausting and causes unwanted boredom, who the hell sacks a random girl from her job if not for the heartless devil? I guess I wasn't sacked, I was given a stay-at-home vacation

Today didn't go well and I don't think tomorrow will. Seeing the poker-faced devil makes life exhausting.

Alexander P.O.V

Sleeping Peacefully was tiring and having a rare type of insomnia was no doubt frustrating, stress overwhelmed me as I laid down on my bed thinking of Carlos's words, I guess his words did affect me this time, it's okay to have a loveless marriage than get involved in tons of freaking blind dates. I had only slept for three hours, it was now seven I had to leave for work.
